“This was the first time ever using a pet sitter. We could not have asked for anyone better to take care of our kitties. Elizabeth went above and beyond what we expected and made our trip so much less stressful We will definitely use Elizabeth again! Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve worked with all kinds of animals since I was young. I know how to give insulin to cats and dogs, as well as comfortably medicate. I’ve pet sit for 2 years professionally. I’m currently working a Monday through Friday 7-3 but I’m open to taking care of your fluffy family members and helping ease your mind. I can easily handle bigger dogs, as well as your scared cats, ensuring they have clean areas and plenty of food. I take plenty of photos along the way so you can see how your pets day was.
“Anastasiya took wonderful care of our senior cat. She was responsive to all of my questions. She took care of our. Home as it were hers while we were away. I highly recommend her.”

About: I am a retired teacher and dog Momma of four furbabies. I've been a dog Momma for over 30 years. My love for animals, especially dogs, runs deep. I've cared for small dogs, like my tea cup Yorkie, and large dogs, like my Siberian Husky who weighs over 100 lbs. I'm known for spoiling my dogs with lots of love and I'll spoil yours too. I've recently left teaching and have a very flexible schedule. I am available with prior notice, full time, any day of the week. I'm a grandmom so I'm even available on Holidays. In caring for your pets I will follow all feeding instructions, make sure fresh water is available in clean bowls and I will make sure to show them affection and playtime.
“I had last minute travel for the Labor Day weekend, but Patty was super flexible. I actually connected with her as she was heading out to the beach for a few days, but she altered her plans and swung by for a meet & greet with the furry kids. Great communication every day, I'll definitely be a repeat client - Highest recommendation!!”

About: I will be spending time with them at the dog park at my neighborhood and they will be treated like my own dog. I will love them as if they were own. I can take them for a walk every 2 hours and if you have any changes feel free to call me. I am at home all day so they will be under my supervision 24/7. I will feed them, give them their needs, take them out to use the bathroom and for a walk, and maybe take them for a run, and go to the dog park.
“Kayla did such a wonderful job checking in on our pups while we were out of town. We loved our daily updates and photos. It made us so happy to know they were in such good hands💗”

“Kiarra was four paws up and a tail all the way!!!!! This was the first time she kitty sat for us. She was great and I have only wonderful things to say about our experience. She was on time, dependable, treating my babies as if they were her own. If she had questions, she asked which sounds simple, but you would be surprised how often that does not happen. She sent the funniest and best pictures. I will be recommending her to all my friends and will absolutely book her anytime I need a kitty sitter.”

“Brittany is so sweet and wonderful with my dogs. She took really wonderful care of my senior dog during drop in visits towards the end of her life and I was thrilled to bring her back years later to do drop in visits with my new puppy. She is kind, a great communicator, takes the cutest pictures of my dogs, and I would highly recommend her!”

“Megan is so great with our two Great Danes. She always makes sure to update us with pictures and what the dogs get up to. She has really helped us out and is so flexible with scheduling which I sincerely appreciate. 10/10 would recommend!”

About: I’ve walked and cared for my families dogs and cats since i was young, i’ve always loved animals and having the chance to care for new pets is really fun. im currently working part time, mostly nights so i have a lot of free time during the day and afternoon. im also free every other weekend in my home, i feed my cats twice a day and make sure they are played with and loved on. And unfortunately right now, one of my cats is having tummy issues so i do know how to administer medications if needed.
About: Growing up I always wanted a pet for my own and I finally got my first puppy at 10 yrs old. I really think that helped me be responsible. And have so much love for pets I take of my pets like if they were my children. Whenever I have free time I like to help others with there pets. I don’t have a job right now so I can work any hours of the week. Full time would be much better, and preferred I have a flexible schedule. I try to build trust with people pets if they seem uncomfortable I try my best to get them out of their shell but I won’t force them to do anything they don’t want to

About: I've been around and cared for animals my entire life, growing up with both dogs and cats. I still help care for my family's pets and also have a cat of my own, so caring for animals is a big part of my everyday life. I also grew up near neighbors who fostered dogs and puppies, and I loved spending time helping socialize and play with their foster puppies. This gave me experience being around puppies of different breeds, sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I'm comfortable with walks, feeding, playtime, litter box care, puppy care, and keeping pets company while their owners are away. I'm patient, dependable, attentive, and understand that every pet has their own personality and routine. I'll always follow your care instructions closely and treat your pets with the same kindness and attention I'd want for my own. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pet care throughout the week. I'm available for weekday walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting, as well as many evenings and weekends. I enjoy being active and spending time outdoors, so incorporating walks and pet care into my routine is something I'd genuinely enjoy! Your pet's safety, comfort, and routine will always be my priority. When caring for pets in a client's home, I'll carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, walks, medications, routines, and household rules. I understand that every pet is different, so I'll take the time to learn their personality and make sure they feel comfortable with me. I'll also keep you updated (with lots of pictures if needed!) while you're away so you can feel confident that your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.
About: Hi everyone! My name is Kamayla, and I’ve been taking care of dogs forever!! I am currently in nursing school, however I have a bunch of free time when I’m not in class! My family loves big dogs, so I have experience with Mastiffs, Rottweilers and Great Danes. I also had a pet hedgehog for 3 years. I currently have a Cane Corso Mastiff named Thanos and a Golden Doodle named Marley, so I can handle low and high-energy dogs. I adore them both but I want to open my arms to more furry friends! I am here to make sure you don’t worry about your pets while out of town, because they’ll be in the best hands! Pets aren’t just animals, they are family and I prioritize safety, structure and peace of mind. Please feel free to reach out about any small or large furry friends! 🐾 This is my senior year of school so I have a pretty flexible schedule! I also don’t mind tweaking my schedule to accommodate yours! My dogs have an huge back yard to play in, but I also love going on walks! Your dogs will always have my undivided attention no matter where they are.
“Erin was incredible! Very communicative and clearly cares about animals. She watched my cat while I was out of town for a week and provided great updates/photos the entire time I was away. It felt great being on vacation knowing that my cat was being so well taken care of. Could not recommend Erin highly enough! Will absolutely be using her again in the future.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and animals my entire life, raised puppies and nursed elderly dogs! Definitely a passion of mine. I’ve trained a few rescues as well. I work part time so I’m home quite often, other than that I spend my free time hiking or taking walks with my own pup Willow. Open spaced home, great walking neighborhood with dog park only .10 mile away. Willow I’ve raised since a puppy, she’s a 6 year old lab who is insanely affectionate and energetic, and beyond sweet. She does get overly excited meeting new dogs, and loves making new friends! It’s different for each sitting and depends on what each owner is looking for. I will not take on opportunities that I can’t be fully invested and present for. Plenty of free time to accommodate your pups needs! Communication with other owners is vital from both ends to be sure everyone is taken care of and happy.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
