“Rylie was a great communicator and was very attentive to my fur baby! She was very understanding of my dogs shy/nervous tendencies and didn’t let it stand in the way of a good afternoon walk! I was very happy with her!”

About: Over the years in Carrboro/Chapel Hill, I have taken care of all kinds of dogs and cats (young and old). My schedule is quite open currently and I would love to spend time with animals of all kind! I'm currently teaching part time (T/Th 930-12pm). Otherwise, my schedule is quite open for dog walks, dog/cat visits, and other fun stuff! I will always be very diligent with any pet care issues. My partner works at a vet, therefore, I have quick access to help and am able to ask them questions regarding any animal health issues.
“Alissa has been wonderful at every step of this process. Despite running into issues getting into my apartment, she was determined and went out of her way to successfully access Winnie to take her on a walk! She communicated well and was very responsive. I’d recommend her to any person needing a dog walker!”

“Tab is so wonderful with my pittie mix, Abbie. She can be reactive on walks, but Tab does a great job of keeping her and others safe while they are out for walks in the woods! Abbie is always tired out and happy after a walk with Tab.”

“Alessandra is great dog walker. She understands my dog very well and takes the time to give him extra love and not just walk him. The updates are very thorough and she communicates so well with everything that’s going on. I’m really glad that I was able to find a really trustworthy and patient person like Alessandra.”

“I would recommend Elena, for sure. She was trustworthy, caring, thoughtful, and dependable. When she couldn’t make it? She communicated it. She brought the mail in and returned my trash bins. Without me asking. Thank you for taking care of Mocha while we were gone!!”

“Amanda is the best dog walker I’ve ever had and she is absolutely amazing with my boys! I have been using her on a weekly basis for now and I couldn’t imagine using anyone else.”
About: I’ve been taking care of dogs & cats since I was 17. It’s been my part time job ever since secondary school till my bachelor’s degree. I’m open up to do it full time now as currently I’m unemployed. Will be ok to do a full time sitter and part time too. I will primarily follow on how the client’s preference if I have to sit at their house. Back home here in Efland we have a huge compound for dogs to run and be free.
About: I have always had a home full of animals which I have loved and cared for my entire life. From dogs to cats to lizards to horses, I've cared for all walks of furry life and would be thrilled to add your previous pet to my list. I am a student and I have a flexible summer for the time being. During the summer I am free any day of the week, morning to night. I will always make sure to keep your pet happy and healthy, safe and comfortable. It's not an easy an thing to leave your heart at home when you have to leave. I understand that anxiety, but it is my goal to ease that worry by reassuring you that your pet is always safe and happy.
“Gretchen dog sat for us for a weekend at pretty last minute notice and was the absolute BEST. our dog was clearly so well taken of and she kept us updated and connected throughout our trip. We joked that he probably didn’t want us to return!”

“Larissa is amazing with Marz, our 5 month puppy. She’s helped her develop confidence on walks, and was open to watching some short training videos we are using to help Marx develop loose leash walking habits. This shows up in Marz’s happy demeanor and leash comfort on walks. Larissa also plays tug and is a consistent communicator. Thank you for being such a good coach and kind companion for Marz!”

“Cassie agreed to meet on short notice and provide daily walks when my other walker had to be out of town. She did a great job and I will definitely be contacting her for additional walks in the future!”

About: I have several years of experience caring for pets of all ages, from energetic puppies to senior pets who need a gentler touch. I’ve also spent plenty of time with cats, understanding their unique personalities and making sure they feel comfortable and at ease. I’m skilled at providing personalized care, whether it's helping a puppy learn basic commands, supporting a senior pet with unique needs, or giving cats the special attention they deserve. My compassionate approach ensures every pet feels safe and loved while in my care. As a college student with summer break approaching, my schedule is opening up, giving me plenty of flexibility to dedicate time to pet care. Even during the school year, I balance my part-time job with pet sitting, walks, and drop-in visits. I’m great at managing my time and making sure each pet gets the attention and care they need. This summer, I’m especially excited to have more availability for daytime and evening visits! I provide dog walking and pet sitting services in the comfort of your home, where pets feel most relaxed and comfortable. I prioritize safety and trust by following each pet’s care instructions and keeping a watchful eye on their well-being. Whether it’s feeding, administering medications, or offering companionship, I create a calm, secure atmosphere for every pet in my care. Regular updates and clear communication with owners are always a priority.
About: My family has always had dogs, 2-3 at a time, and always large (German Shepards or Labs). I have dog sat for neighbors, relatives, and friends - all dogs great and small! I don't mind to get a little dirty, I'm ready to walk and play all day long. I work part-time, but am very flexible and can work to fit your needs. I am pretty much available any day of the week Monday-Sunday, and typically work between the hours of 10am-8pm. I am happy to work earlier or later if necessary! I am currently not offering boarding in my own home but am open to doing stop-in visits in a clients home, no problem there!
“Rosa was amazing watching Moose. She walked her three times a day for several days and administered her food and medication without any issues. Rosa sent a photo and update with every walk, which gave us so much peace of mind. Moose was clearly well cared for, and we would highly recommend Rosa and book her again.”

About: We have had dogs in our family for years. I have all the basic experience of taking care of a crate trained dog. We also had a high energy Australian shepherd that had to go boot camp a few times…that being said I understand their training is very important to keep up so I am open and receptive to all their training and dietary needs. I am available through August most days. I am a school teacher so once the school year starts up I will be available for afternoon drop ins or boarding etc. With all the instructions you provide me for them and exceptional love and care. Furry friends deserve to feel comfortable too. I will take any crates, beds, toys etc. that they need and try to keep them on their routine as close as possible.
About: I’ve always loved being around animals, and I take pet care seriously because I know people are trusting me with a member of their family. Through my work with Lux’s Purpose, a nonprofit that raises and trains service dogs for children with pediatric cancer and chronic illness, I’ve helped socialize, care for, and support the early training of future service dogs. That experience taught me the importance of consistency, patience, clear routines, and close attention to a dog’s body language. I’m an active UNC student, so I’m especially happy to help with dogs who need walks, exercise, and structured care. I’m responsible, careful with instructions, and comfortable following routines for feeding, medications, crate rules, leash habits, or quiet time. I’ll communicate clearly, send updates, and make sure your pet feels safe, cared for, and respected while you’re away. I’m a full-time UNC student, but my schedule is very flexible and includes plenty of breaks between classes. A quick bike ride to check in on a pet, go for a walk, or provide care is a perfect way for me to spend that time. While my class schedule varies by day, I am generally not unavailable for more than about four hours at a time. I’m happy to coordinate around your pet’s routine and make sure they get consistent attention, exercise, and care throughout the day. For walks and drop-in visits, I care for pets in their own home environment and follow the owner’s instructions closely. I’ll respect your home, keep doors and gates secure, use the leash or harness setup you prefer, and make sure your pet is safe before I leave. I’m careful about routines, feeding instructions, medications, crate rules, and any special boundaries your pet needs. I also pay attention to body language and will not force interaction if a pet seems nervous or overstimulated. I’ll send clear updates so you know your pet is safe, cared for, and comfortable.
“Bailey has been great to work with! She was so kind and responsive to our needs. She was observant and let us know about concerns she had when our pup wasn't feeling well. Your pet will be in good hands with Bailey!”

I would recommend Elena, for sure. She was trustworthy, caring, thoughtful, and dependable. When she couldn’t make it? She communicated it. She brought the mail in and returned my trash bins. Without me asking. Thank you for taking care of Mocha while we were gone!!

Alessandra is a GEM! She is kind and gentle and knows how to make our anxious little dog feel safe. She is very conscientious and made sure she understood the details of Lou's routine (including his medication), which put me completely at ease. Alessandra gives our dog the same loving care that we do, and I'm so glad to have found her!

Alissa has been wonderful at every step of this process. Despite running into issues getting into my apartment, she was determined and went out of her way to successfully access Winnie to take her on a walk! She communicated well and was very responsive. I’d recommend her to any person needing a dog walker!

Rosa was absolutely amazing with Benito. ❤️ In what felt like two seconds, she somehow went from being Benito’s walker to feeling like part of the family. She didn’t just take him on walks — she genuinely cared for him. She made him feel safe, loved, and seen, and I could tell from every update and every interaction that she treated him like he was her own. That kind of trust and peace of mind is priceless. Benito came back happy, cared for, and honestly… I think he misses her already 🥹. If a dog could leave reviews, I’m pretty sure he’d be asking when Rosa is coming back. Thank you, Rosa, for being so wonderful with my little guy. We are so grateful and will absolutely be reaching out again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
so first I had booked the wrong dates and had ro change them the day before I was going out of town. Adam was super understanding and was still able to modify the booking. lucy loved him. he took her on long walks and hung out with her, made sure her food and water were filled and made sure the tv stayed on for sound. I appreciate you!!

Claire was super amazing to be able to walk my dog last minute after I had to rush out of the house this morning to drop off at school and drive to work without being able to take care of my dog. She came promptly and took care of my dog, made sure she pooped, and sent a lot of cute photos. I would totally hire her again.

Kelly was great! I have a small breed terrier mix puppy with separation anxiety and that is still learning some leash training. I cannot walk as fast as Maddie needs and so it was great to have someone that can walk faster or run with her. The hand off went great as well. Maddie was comfortable going with Kelly and happy when she returned. I’m so thankful that she was able to get the walk in that I can’t give her Due to my disabilities. I would definitely use her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
