About: Over the years in Carrboro/Chapel Hill, I have taken care of all kinds of dogs and cats (young and old). My schedule is quite open currently and I would love to spend time with animals of all kind! I'm currently teaching part time (T/Th 930-12pm). Otherwise, my schedule is quite open for dog walks, dog/cat visits, and other fun stuff! I will always be very diligent with any pet care issues. My partner works at a vet, therefore, I have quick access to help and am able to ask them questions regarding any animal health issues.
About: I absolutely love taking care of animals and have pet sat for neighbors and friends for years! I have an open schedule this summer, so I am very flexible with my availability and can build my schedule around your needs. I’m currently planning to work several babysitting and pet sitting jobs during my summer break! Because of this, I can build my schedule from week to week and adapt to the needs of your pet and their schedule! In a clients home I am attentive to your pets needs and love to send pics of your fur baby! Expect many updates, walks, and play time for your pet. I also value cleanliness and will ensure that your pet and their area is kept clean!

“Rylie is amazing! She asked lots of questions to make sure my dog would have a great time with her. He’s a big dog (German Shepherd), and she completely understands the behavior and energy level of big, high-energy dogs!”

“OMG I absolutely LOVED Allison so much!! She was so professional and sweet! She checked in with me about everything my fur baby needed prior to her visits with him to make sure she had all the information necessary. She also provided me with a report card after every walk including lots of pictures of my boy having the time of his life! He looked so happy when she walked him. I will 100% be using her again! We love Allison!! 🥰❤️”

About: We have had dogs in our family for years. I have all the basic experience of taking care of a crate trained dog. We also had a high energy Australian shepherd that had to go boot camp a few times…that being said I understand their training is very important to keep up so I am open and receptive to all their training and dietary needs. I am available through August most days. I am a school teacher so once the school year starts up I will be available for afternoon drop ins or boarding etc. With all the instructions you provide me for them and exceptional love and care. Furry friends deserve to feel comfortable too. I will take any crates, beds, toys etc. that they need and try to keep them on their routine as close as possible.

About: I’ve taken care of different pets my whole life! I’ve always had a ledger dog, but love animals in all shapes and sizes. I am an avid walker, and would love to take your animal out on walks or stay with them during a vacation! I am starting my nursing job the 20th and am available most days that I am off after I start. I am an early riser and usually go on a walk in the morning and throughout my day! I am in an apartment with lots of trails and dog parks within walking distance. My complex is extremely pet friendly, with a dog park/ play area on the property.
About: Dogs have been apart of my life for many years. I’ve been a dog owner for four years and have spent a decade pet sitting for friends and family. More recently, I’ve provided in-home care for a senior dog while their family travels, ensuring they remaining comfortable and maintained their regular schedule in a familiar environment. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy and reliable to care for your pet. I work full time, however I have flexible evening schedule after 6:00pm and I am available on both Saturdays and Sunday with morning, afternoon and evening walking hours. I also have more available schedule on Tuesdays with more flexibility. As a dog walker I keep your dog safe by walking them on a lease at all times in the designated areas that your dog is familiar walking.
“Rosa was amazing watching Moose. She walked her three times a day for several days and administered her food and medication without any issues. Rosa sent a photo and update with every walk, which gave us so much peace of mind. Moose was clearly well cared for, and we would highly recommend Rosa and book her again.”

About: My family has always had dogs, 2-3 at a time, and always large (German Shepards or Labs). I have dog sat for neighbors, relatives, and friends - all dogs great and small! I don't mind to get a little dirty, I'm ready to walk and play all day long. I work part-time, but am very flexible and can work to fit your needs. I am pretty much available any day of the week Monday-Sunday, and typically work between the hours of 10am-8pm. I am happy to work earlier or later if necessary! I am currently not offering boarding in my own home but am open to doing stop-in visits in a clients home, no problem there!
About: I have several years of experience caring for pets of all ages, from energetic puppies to senior pets who need a gentler touch. I’ve also spent plenty of time with cats, understanding their unique personalities and making sure they feel comfortable and at ease. I’m skilled at providing personalized care, whether it's helping a puppy learn basic commands, supporting a senior pet with unique needs, or giving cats the special attention they deserve. My compassionate approach ensures every pet feels safe and loved while in my care. As a college student with summer break approaching, my schedule is opening up, giving me plenty of flexibility to dedicate time to pet care. Even during the school year, I balance my part-time job with pet sitting, walks, and drop-in visits. I’m great at managing my time and making sure each pet gets the attention and care they need. This summer, I’m especially excited to have more availability for daytime and evening visits! I provide dog walking and pet sitting services in the comfort of your home, where pets feel most relaxed and comfortable. I prioritize safety and trust by following each pet’s care instructions and keeping a watchful eye on their well-being. Whether it’s feeding, administering medications, or offering companionship, I create a calm, secure atmosphere for every pet in my care. Regular updates and clear communication with owners are always a priority.
About: I’ve always loved being around animals, and I take pet care seriously because I know people are trusting me with a member of their family. Through my work with Lux’s Purpose, a nonprofit that raises and trains service dogs for children with pediatric cancer and chronic illness, I’ve helped socialize, care for, and support the early training of future service dogs. That experience taught me the importance of consistency, patience, clear routines, and close attention to a dog’s body language. I’m an active UNC student, so I’m especially happy to help with dogs who need walks, exercise, and structured care. I’m responsible, careful with instructions, and comfortable following routines for feeding, medications, crate rules, leash habits, or quiet time. I’ll communicate clearly, send updates, and make sure your pet feels safe, cared for, and respected while you’re away. I’m a full-time UNC student, but my schedule is very flexible and includes plenty of breaks between classes. A quick bike ride to check in on a pet, go for a walk, or provide care is a perfect way for me to spend that time. While my class schedule varies by day, I am generally not unavailable for more than about four hours at a time. I’m happy to coordinate around your pet’s routine and make sure they get consistent attention, exercise, and care throughout the day. For walks and drop-in visits, I care for pets in their own home environment and follow the owner’s instructions closely. I’ll respect your home, keep doors and gates secure, use the leash or harness setup you prefer, and make sure your pet is safe before I leave. I’m careful about routines, feeding instructions, medications, crate rules, and any special boundaries your pet needs. I also pay attention to body language and will not force interaction if a pet seems nervous or overstimulated. I’ll send clear updates so you know your pet is safe, cared for, and comfortable.
“Alessandra is a GEM! She is kind and gentle and knows how to make our anxious little dog feel safe. She is very conscientious and made sure she understood the details of Lou's routine (including his medication), which put me completely at ease. Alessandra gives our dog the same loving care that we do, and I'm so glad to have found her!”

About: Growing up, I was always the person that friends and neighbors called when they needed someone to care for their furry friends. I’ve looked after dogs with all sorts of personalities, including seniors who benefit from extra patience and attention. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, so I focus on providing reliable care, sticking to routines, and keeping owners updated every step of the way! As a grad student, I have an extremely flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate! I’m available most weekdays and weekends for walks, drop-ins, and house sitting. My classes take up a small portion of my week, which means more playtime and cuddles for your pet! My priority is making sure every pet feels safe and cared for while maintaining the routine they’re used to. I follow instructions closely regarding feeding, exercise, meds, crate routines, and any other specific needs. I understand that every animal is different, so I take time to learn their personalities and boundaries. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pet is happy and in good hands while you’re away.
About: Owners and animals will love my service because I'm very hands on and love to engage with the animals. I have two dogs and two cats of my own who are extremely well behaved with other animals. I've worked with dogs In particular in the past and found a passion with it. It doesn't matter if it's big dogs or small, I love to meet and interact with new animals. I have worked with aggressive breeds in the past so I know how to engage and interact with different breeds and needs. I know not all dogs are the same and each dog requires different techniques for that dog to feel safe and comfortable with a stranger. I feel confident with my ability to walk or sit most dogs. I have open availability for anyone's needs! All I ask is you reach out ahead of time just incase I have anything else booked. I follow the guidelines set by the owners. Each pet is individual and requires certain attention. My job isnt to change the comfortability or routines you have set for your animals. If I encounter any concerns or have any suggestions I will always bring them to the owner before I change any daily routine.
About: I've always loved living and spending time with pets. I have a 10-year-old cat back at home :) I have taken care of neighbors', friends', and family dogs so many times before. I'm also a certified dog walker on the DogGo app, which is widely used in Turkey! I’m currently a graduate student at UNC–Chapel Hill, so I have plenty of time to spend with your pet! I’m mostly available on weekends, but I can make adjustments for weekdays as well :) I live in a pet-friendly apartment complex in Durham. The neighborhood is safe, and my complex has an enclosed area where dogs can play. I’m happy to have pets on the couch and bed—who doesn’t love extra snuggles? :)
About: I’ve taken care of my own dog for about 7 years, but I’ve had the opportunity to take care of my friends’ pets throughout the years. I’ve taken care of young and old pups as well as small to large. My availability is very flexible as I work part-time. My part-time work is flexible as well since it’s work I can do outside of set hours. I have a pug named Dorado who can be a companion to your dog while you’re away. I’m open to doing home visits as well as having your dog stay.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Chapel Hill
Ellie, Thank you for taking such great care of my pup! I appreciate your responsiveness for booking and showing so much love and care during our meet and greet. Ellie is reliable and it was clear from both our conversations and her actions that she cared about keeping my dog on her routine. Thank you for the afternoon walks! I will absolutely book with you again soon!

Thomas did an excellent job walking and giving our dogs attention. We have a pittie and hound dog mix. Both can be high energy at times and Thomas walked both of them together with ease. He also gave them play time in the yard if they still had energy. I really appreciated his use of the report card, attaching photos and notes for the day. I was at total ease during my business trip. I knew my pups were happy and tired after a midday play date with Thomas. I would 1000% use him again and recommend him to others.

I would recommend Elena, for sure. She was trustworthy, caring, thoughtful, and dependable. When she couldn’t make it? She communicated it. She brought the mail in and returned my trash bins. Without me asking. Thank you for taking care of Mocha while we were gone!!

Alissa has been wonderful at every step of this process. Despite running into issues getting into my apartment, she was determined and went out of her way to successfully access Winnie to take her on a walk! She communicated well and was very responsive. I’d recommend her to any person needing a dog walker!

so first I had booked the wrong dates and had ro change them the day before I was going out of town. Adam was super understanding and was still able to modify the booking. lucy loved him. he took her on long walks and hung out with her, made sure her food and water were filled and made sure the tv stayed on for sound. I appreciate you!!

Claire was super amazing to be able to walk my dog last minute after I had to rush out of the house this morning to drop off at school and drive to work without being able to take care of my dog. She came promptly and took care of my dog, made sure she pooped, and sent a lot of cute photos. I would totally hire her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
