About: I have looked after pets of many family members and friends for most of my life, including older pets that require medications and certain accommodations. I consider myself very patient and attentive to pets' needs. I work freelance with flexible hours, so my availability is pretty much wide open. I do not currently have pets of my own, so I am able to focus solely on my client's pet(s). I am happy to bring the attention and comfort to your pets that they need. That includes walking dogs frequently, playing often, maintaining diet and clean drinking water, picking up poos, and cleaning up messes! I am also happy to accommodate on overnight stays pets who may want to sleep in the bed or require night/early morning care.

About: I’m a caring, dependable, and patient pet lover who treats every dog like they’re part of the family. I’m attentive to each pet’s individual personality and needs, and I’m especially comfortable with puppies, senior dogs, and pups who need a little extra patience, attention, and love. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I have a very flexible work schedule, which allows me to provide reliable care for dogs and cats when they need it. I’m dependable, organized, and committed to making sure every pet gets the attention, exercise, and care they deserve. I’m happy to come to your home to care for your pets in their familiar and comfortable environment. I’ll follow their normal routine, provide plenty of love and attention, and make sure they feel safe and well cared for while you’re away.
“Great, short notice help and super thorough with following instructions and taking lots of pictures. Sabrina did great with our cat and we would be happy to book with her again.”

About: I’m a caring and reliable animal lover with experience caring for a variety of animals. Most of my experience is with cats and dogs, and I’m comfortable providing plenty of love, attention, playtime, walks, and basic daily care. I also have experience caring for smaller animals, including rabbits, goldfish and other animals found in my pictures. I understand that every animal has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I’m happy to follow your instructions to make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. Whether your pet needs companionship, exercise, feeding, or simply someone trustworthy to keep them company, I’ll treat them like they’re my own! 🐾 I work four 10-hour shifts per week as a nurse, with two of those shifts being remote, which gives me added flexibility to provide care and attention throughout the day. I also have weekends and holidays off, allowing plenty of time for walks, playtime, cuddles, and quality time with your pet! I treat every pet in my care as if they were my own—with patience, kindness, attention, and plenty of love. I take the time to learn each pet’s individual personality, routine, preferences, and needs so they feel comfortable and safe while their owners are away. I’ll follow their normal feeding, medication, exercise, and potty routines as closely as possible and make sure they receive plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship. My goal is for every pet to feel happy, cared for, and right at home while they’re with me.
“I would give Ayesha 10 stars if I could. She has a pleasant demeanor and my 3 big furbabies feel in love with her right away. She kept me well informed at each checkin and was very responsive. I would highly recommend her.”

About: Over 20 years of experience of dog walking pet sitting - from puppies to older pups. Currently working towards certification to become a veterinary assistant :) I'm a teacher so I have plenty of time to hang out, play, and walk your pets during the late afternoon and early evenings. During the school year I'm often available on Weekends and holidays. I am currently not hosting pets in my home as I have a grumpy senior dog prone to seizures if overly excited. At your home, I will follow any rules or boundaries that you set in place :)
“Sarah was great! She was very quick to respond and was willing to change plans last minute when I needed additional help for my pup. She did 2 drop-in visits and my dog was well cared for.”

“Stephany was very professional and caring in the meeting before the booking. It was evident how compassionate she is and how much she loves pets. My dogs liked her right away! On the day of the booking, I arrived home to find happy, well-cared for dogs. I absolutely recommend Stephany and will be booking with her again!”

“Andrei did an excellent job taking care of both of my dogs. I highly recommend him for any breed. I have a large mastiff, and he and Andre instantly bonded. Andrea is also very communicative and responsive when needed.”

About: I was raised with dogs and when I eventually got my own dog, I knew that I could never go a day without a fur baby. They bring such happiness to our lives and I feel that we should do the same for them! I would be more than happy to watch your fur child and love them as my own. I do have two of my own dogs in the house - a Newfiedoodle named Bailey. She is very friendly and playful and would love to have some company. And an aussiedoodle named Gatsby. I can’t wait to hear from you! I work full-time from home which allows me to dedicate a lot of my time and attention to furry friends. I also have availability most weekends. Please reach out and let me know what your needs are and we can go from there! Dogs are able to play and have fun freely within my home as we have PLENTY of dog toys. Dogs are allowed on furniture and encouraged to make themselves comfortable! My own dog, Bailey, drinks a lot of water, so cold water is always on deck and ready to go.

About: I have experience owning dogs since I was a child. I also have many years experience of small animal, cat, and reptile ownership. I have worked at a dog boarding and daycare facility as well as our local Humane Society. I work a normal job 9 to 6 Monday through Friday. With traveling being common over the weekends, I am available anytime as my weekends are completely free. I will take care of clients pets in their home using the guidelines they set. I would prefer no pets in my home unless I’ve gotten to know the animal, as I have a dog and a cat of my own.
About: I started taking care of dogs and cats since the age of 13. I have a boxer mix of my own, Mae, who is the love of my life. I have volunteered at various shelters in the Midwest and Northeast and have provided dog walking/cat sitting/overnight care for 20+ years. I am a professor during the school year, so summers are my prime times for pet care! I'm currently off of work for the summer (professor) so most weekdays I am available (and weekends) with a few trips happening in June and July. But if you give me enough notice, I can accommodate your needs as best as I can! I have experience with crating and follow the unique instructions of each human companion to best meet their needs for securing their pets comfortably and safely.
“Ariel is a great pet sitter. Absolutely no issues. This is the second time she helped us with our Pets. She also took care of our plants while we were out which was a relief.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for many years as both a dedicated pet owner and a trusted caregiver for friends and family. I have experience with dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments, including my own 65-pound reactive dog, which has given me a deep understanding of canine body language, positive reinforcement training, and the importance of consistency, structure, and patience. Whether it’s a walk or drop-in visit my priority is always to ensure pets feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for while maintaining their normal routine. I pay close attention to each dog’s individual needs and provide plenty of affection, enrichment, exercise, and detailed photo updates so you can feel completely at ease while you’re away. I treat every pet with the same care and respect as if they were my own. I currently work from home and have availability to do drop ins or dog walking due to my flexible schedule ! I’d be happy to walk some pups during the work day or after I believe pets are happiest and most comfortable when their routine is maintained. When caring for pets in their home, I take the time to understand their normal schedule, including feeding, potty breaks, walks, medications, favorite activities, and any special instructions from their family. During each visit, I provide attentive care, exercise, enrichment, and plenty of affection while making sure pets feel safe and comfortable in their own environment. I’ll send detailed updates and photos so you can feel connected and confident while you’re away. I treat every home with respect and every pet with the same patience, care, and attention I would want for my own dog.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Clegg
Hannah was wonderful! Our automatic feeder wasn’t working and she was able to come over that morning to check on our babies! Thanks so much for responding right away and giving us peace of mind while we were out of town. Hannah is the best and we’d recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable sitter who always gives our kitties lots of pets and play!

Amber and Brandon were amazing with our three cats while we were away for over 2 weeks. They were super responsible, thoughtful, and clearly genuinely enjoyed spending time with them. We especially loved all the photos they sent. They captured so many funny expressions and little moments that even we had never managed to get before, and you could really tell how comfortable and happy the cats were with them. They also put a lot of effort into socializing our foster cat. When we came back, he was noticeably more affectionate and comfortable around people, which was such a nice surprise. They paid attention to little things too—when we ran out of dish soap, they brought some over, and they even moved a scratching board onto the stairs after noticing the cats were scratching the carpet. Overall, they went way beyond just the basic Rover visits. We felt completely comfortable leaving our cats with them and would absolutely book with them again!

Alyssa did a great job with my dog and cat! She was friendly and punctual, sent consistent updates/photos, and was very communicative throughout. She made sure my pets were well taken care of while I was gone, and my place was nice and clean when I returned!

Griffin was amazing with Cooper! She took great care of him and updated me all the time with how he was and what all she was doing with him, she always was there on time to take him out which made being away from him much less stressful knowing that he was being taken care of the same way I do! Highly recommend to anyone needing a sweet caregiver to their pup!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
