I am currently working from home during the week but would be happy to do early mornings walks or check-ins before 9AM. If anyone is looking for an evening walk or check-in I am available after 7PM.

Each morning at home or during my visits, I always fill up the food and water bins just the way they like it! Some pets like dry food, some prefer wet food. I’ve found others will only eat it mixed together. After I’ve checked on those things we get ready for our morning walk. It’s good for everyone to get outside and stretch their legs out some as well as allowing your pets or ours to use the restroom as they need to with no rush. I make sure they are completely done and satisfied to go back inside the home or where ever they they are kept during the day, while you are away. And if there aren’t any restrictions I like to give them a tasty treat for doing so well. Then get them all settled in before my time with them for the day ends. If I’m with them all day, we go back and forth playing, go for plenty of walks or other fun activities. Allowing for some down time as well, knowing we all need a break here and there to recharge. Refilling any food or water bins as needed. If there are any special needs that need to be taken care of or addressed I ensure those are handled as normally scheduled, following any and all instructions I am given. For example giving pets medication, I am able to accommodate those kinds of things as well. The pups in my family highly enjoy the peanut butter pill pockets! If baths are needed, I am happy to accommodate and leave the client’s family with a fresh smelling well groomed pet! I know how to bathe, dry and brush pets while keeping them calm and collected. Always making sure to be patient and gentle as we all know bath time isn’t always the greatest time for our 4 legged friends. And as a must having treats close by for encouragement and positive reinforcement! If there’s any special requests feel free to include them and I will always be accommodating to you and your furry friend!

I like to know what your pet is like and what they enjoy doing most. Are they energetic or laid back? Do they enjoy being outside or lounging inside more? Are there any special instructions or restrictions I need to know about? Are there any areas that I need to avoid? Are they approachable and do you allow strangers to come up and pet them?
A typical day
I really enjoy taking pets for walks around the neighborhood, local parks. There are even areas around my city where my furry friends and I can go for hikes and take in all the smells and views of nature. There have been times when we’ve gone on bike rides through the neighborhood or nike trails throughout the city. I also enjoy going to empty baseball, soccer or football fields or any big grassy areas to play fetch, frisbee or attempt to catch them while playing tag. Anything to get them running around and having a good time! Some pets enjoy swimming so I’ll pack a bag with all the needed essentials: portable food and water bowl, ball, frisbee, towels and treats of course! Other things I’ve found to do for fun with our pets is singing and howling different tunes or songs, learning different tricks or even just hanging lounging around maybe watching some puppy or kitty tv.

Pet care experience
I’ve had pets and taken care of family and friends animals since I was 10 years old. Both in Alaska and here in North Carolina. I’ve interacted, lived and enjoyed being around many different breeds and mixes of dogs and cats. From helping with potty training, to walking, to playing, to house sitting if mama or dad are away. Being a friend to keep them company. I always make sure they are fed, groomed well, yup even baths! And I always very much well loved and looked after. I have such a blast going out for walks, playing in and outside of the house and giving out treats for good behavior and actions or just relaxing somewhere petting them and hanging out!! Depends on their personality :) I’ve even taken care of a few birds growing up as well!

Latressa was wonderful! Our winky warmed up to her quickly and she was always loving on her in the update pictures. When we arrived home it was to a kitty who didn’t seem to miss us lol
