“Salem was once again GREAT with Bodhi. I was having surgery. My husband was with me, and she was taking care of our beloved pooch - even brought in our packages! Bodhi our big "baby" loves her and we are thrilled with her care.”

“Meghan has been my dog walker and recently house sat for me while I was away. She is wonderful with my dog and left my place clean & tidy. I know I can trust her and would absolutely recommend her.”

“Cayla was great with my boys! I have two pups and they’re very different but she was able to connect with both of them. She sent me texts and pictures to let me know they were doing okay and I really appreciated that because I worry a lot. She was really wonderful and I have already booked her again for a weekend in March!”

“A++++! Perfect house and dog sitter for a long weekend. Great communicator! We always knew how things were going while we were out of the country. Went above and beyond to get comfortable with our dog and make our dog comfortable.”

“Alyssa was great!! Her communication was frequent and she answered all of my check in texts super fast. Archie seemed to really love her immediately. So thankful we found her!”

“Debora is fantastic as always. She even helped me out with a few things at my house like bringing in the garbage cans and putting away my food delivery while I was gone.”

“Kelsey was responsive and made sure we knew everything going on with our pets while we were away. She was proactive with issues that popped up and took some really great photos of them. We were able to better enjoy our trip because we knew they were in good hands. Thanks again Kelsey!”

“Kelly stayed at my house with my cat for 10 nights, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better sitter. Super proactive in communication, sent pics and updates daily, left the house in great shape (I really couldn't tell anyone had been here!) and was flexible in the end when my travel plans changed due to weather. Oh, and I could tell she genuinely enjoyed hanging out with my cat, which makes it all the better. Hope to be able to hire her for future needs!”

“Kyleigh is the best! We had her watch our pup overnight at our home and she provided daily updates to ease our nerves. Upon our return Oliver seemed very happy and well cared for. She left our place in great shape and even left a little note with a cute Polaroid of our boy. I would definitely trust her with your furry loved one!”

“Natallia was great with Duck! She was very communicative and made sure both Duck and I were comfortable when I had to leave! I will definitely work with Natallia in the future and highly recommend her!”

“DaNesha was great with my animals. She communicated clearly, was transparent and honest while we worked out scheduling details, and followed through with everything discussed. She kept me updated along the way and my animals were happy when I returned. We will hire DaNesha again without hesitation.”

“Paris was very responsive to my questions, comments, and requests. I appreciated the care she gave my dogs. They are pretty independent but having someone there to keep them company and watch the house while I am gone gives me peace of mind while I am traveling.”

“As soon as I met Loren I felt completely comfortable leaving our 15 month old pampered Coton de Tulear with her. She sent me great pictures that showed Moppie was relaxed and happy. I would not hesitate to get her to dog sit again!”

“She did great with our two German shepherd’s for the weekend. Communicated great, house was clean when we got home, and the dogs seemed to love her! We will definitely book with her again.”

“Haylie was very caring and gave multiple report on Stanley’s condition as he was recovering from an accident. She did not cut corners with his walks and time needed outside. She even made sure to carry water and bowl in case he got over heated.”

“Kelsey was absolutely amazing. We received photos everyday with updates about how our boys were doing. They did extremely well with Kelsey and they enjoyed being able to stay in their own home while we were gone.”

“You will not find a more loving person to watch your pets than Leslie. We received daily photos / videos and updates with any concerns. Leslie stayed in our home and when we returned it was so tidy, there was not even any dog hair on the floor! I appreciate how caring Leslie was for our dog and how considerate of a house sitter she was. We hope Leslie will sit for us again in the future! 🙂”

“Calvyn was great with our 2 cats plus we trusted him to stay overnight while we were away for 2 nights. Our cats have certain behaviors, like our male likes a lot of attention and he likes to drink out of the faucet. Calvyn paid attention to both. Calvyn communicated regularly to tell us his schedule and accommodated our request to bring in delivered packages. Our house was left exactly how we left it and with a perfectly clean litter box. He notified us when he was leaving and sent us pictures so we could see what they were up to while we were traveling home. We highly recommend Calvyn and will hire him again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Clegg
We were very happy with the care Brooke gave Bode while we were away! He has a specific routine and medication schedule, and she handled everything really well. We felt completely comfortable knowing he was in good hands. Brooke also went above and beyond by cleaning up and leaving our house in great shape, which was so nice to come home to. Bode was happy and well cared for, and we would definitely book with Brooke again!

Cannot recommend Alyssa enough! Our boys absolutely LOVED her, and honestly, we couldn’t have felt better leaving them at home with her. She took such good care of our boys and our house, and we never once had to worry about anything while we were away. It was so obvious how much she genuinely cared for them, and they absolutely adore her. We would trust her with our boys (and our home!) any time and are so thankful we found her. Truly can’t recommend her enough!

Our dog loves Kyle. Our family went on a 17-day international trip and had Kyle house sit our 5 month puppy Wooloo. Wooloo loved Kyle a lot. The house was kept clean and everything where they should be. We received pictures every day which made our mind at ease during the whole trip. We are so thankful!

Danielle was absolutely wonderful! I booked with her last minute and she was super flexible with scheduling a meet and greet with my pups before hand. I have one dog that gets scared and anxious around new people but she was not thrown off one bit and took her time to let my dog warm up to her. She was super communicative while I was gone (even sent daily pictures)! I will definitely be booking with her again!

Antonia was an amazing sitter! She was very communicative and sent lots of pictures while I was away. My dog was happy, relaxed, and clearly very well taken care of the entire time. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely recommend Antonia to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring sitter!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Clegg walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Clegg maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Clegg choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
