“This was our first time hiring Thomas to house sit the boys, and he did an incredible job. He sent us plenty of pictures and kept us informed on how they were doing every day. He even had little summaries of how the day went at the end of each day we were away from them. Will definitely use him again! 10/10”

“Kelly is amazing! She took great care of our house and dog. She provided frequent updates and it’s clear that she really enjoys taking care of pets. She followed our instructions to a T. Would absolutely recommend!”

“Katrin was absolutely great with Daisy! We felt so much better knowing Daisy was being cared for, and we felt very lucky to have her watching Daisy in our home. Especially with Daisy still being a puppy, we didn’t want to move her around, so having someone stay with her made a huge difference. Katrin was wonderful about sharing updates and videos throughout the stay, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. Daisy loved playing with her and was genuinely sad to see her go. We would highly recommend Katrin to anyone looking for a caring, reliable pet sitter!”

“Rosa did an amazing jobs taking care of my girls when I reached out with a last minute request for an overnight stay. She was prompt, communicative, and I could tell the dogs were very well taken care of as well as my home. She provided plenty of updates and followed, feeding and medication instructions with attention to detail. Thank you so much for your help Rosa! The girls and I will talk to you again soon!”
“Kim was an amazing sitter for our dog, Nugget, and cat, Ollie, this weekend. We would absolutely book with her again! Our pets were very clearly comfortable with her staying with them. She sent pictures and kept us updated while we were away!”

“Garet was a great house/pet sitter for our guys. The house was clean and well maintained when we arrived home and the pets were both happy and healthy, what more can you ask for?! He sent us pictures to keep us in the loop, made sure Blue got plenty of walks and activity, and everyone got plenty of snuggles.”

“Our pup is not usually 'open to new relationships' but she quickly warmed up to Claire. The weather posed significant challenges during Claire's stay but she managed everything with aplomb. Great job!”

“Kay did a fabulous job of keeping Wally company while we were out for 3 days! I so appreciated her willingness to stay at our house and have a couple meet-and-greet visits before we were out. Her years of dog-sitting experience and the emergency situations she's navigated with other dogs gave me peace of mind that she could handle any situation that came up with Wally. Overall a great experience for our first time away from our puppy!”

“Salem was absolutely amazing for Oliver and did everything that we asked and more! She was very communicative and gave us total peace of mind while we were far far away from home!”

“Meredith was great! She met them a couple of times before we left, which really helped our older dog with anxiety. She connected so well with the pups. She kept us informed with pictures and videos, so we knew our pups were in good hands. She treated our home with care, too, which was appreciated. We would happily book with Meredith again!”

“Allison is everyone's ideal dog sitter. She's responsive, updates you regularly, and clearly loves and takes care of your pet the same way you do. Would highly recommend, and plan to be rebooking her in the future!”

“Jessica was great while house sitting our 2 pups and cat! They got lots of love and play time outside. Our home was in perfect condition when we got back. We highly recommend Jessica.”
“We have used Kiera multiple times over the past year. She is great at communicating and loves on all the animals. She is clean and respectful to your place. I have very needy and spoiled fur babies and she spoils them just as much when I am gone. I will definitely continue to use her for my pets!”
“She was so amazing with my kitty’s, one of my cats is super shy and usually hides from everyone. But Anya(my cat) came out and made a new best friend! Not only that but Melody took super good care of my reptiles too and my apartment and sent pictures and videos while I was away. I will definitely rebook with her and highly recommend if you’re looking for someone who treats your animals like their own.”

“Carmack is a mature and very competent pet sitter. He was great with my very shy mini dachshund, Daisy. We had 2 meet and greats to help her overcome her anxiety. Carmack knew what to do to calm her. He was incredibly patient with her. He’s very knowledgeable and confident with dogs. He took very good care of our place and left it cleaner than it was when we left. I highly recommend him.”

“Alysha is awesome with Zorro and takes great care of him. She is always willing to help us out, including for days where we ask her to hang with Zorro for almost the whole day. We so appreciate her!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Windy Hill Farm
Jessica and Jonathon are great! They were very considerate when watching our dogs in our home and handling our epileptic dog with a big medication routine. At no point were we worried and when we got home it was clear they had been well cared for and the house was additionally in perfect condition.

This was our first time using Sheila and we knew after the first time meeting her that she was the perfect person to stay with our dog, Milo while we went on a cruise. She sent us daily pictures and I felt completely relaxed knowing that Milo was in good hands. After staying in our house for almost two weeks, we could barely tell she had been here. Everything was in perfect order when we came home. My only concern with recommending Sheila is that she won't be available the next time we need her!

ShiLi was wonderful with our two babies. We waited until the last minute to find a pet sitter for Christmas, and I was really afraid we wouldn't have luck. But ShiLi came to our rescue. Our yorkie and malshi can be nervous when we leave them. ShiLi made them feel safe, and she was a professional all around. We highly recommend ShiLi!
Vanessa’s care for our dog Sadie was beyond wonderful! She was so attentive to Sadie’s needs from feeding to walking her and everything in between!! She gave us regular updates and even sent us pictures throughout her stay with Sadie. I HIGHLY recommend Vanessa!!

We are grateful to David, who, as always, was terrific with our 11 year old Border Collie and in taking care of our home. We couldn't be more satisfied with his 11 days stay while we were on the other side of the country and will invite him again when we next go out of town.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Windy Hill Farm walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Windy Hill Farm maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Windy Hill Farm choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
