Kelly was so great. She helped us out when we were in a bind for an unexpected doctors appointment, and could not have been nicer or better with Zorro. He loved her right away. Hopefully she can stay with him again!

Ria was so nice! She took care of my asthma kitty, ensured that she was well cared for. Took care of her litter box, and made sure she was in good spirits while we were away. She also gave us a keychain and some new toys for my moofi. Thank you again :) I would recommend and rebook.

Cassie was wonderful. Our cats were comfortable and happy with her, and her communications with us were on point. She took good care of our house and let us know when she had questions or concerns. We are especially grateful that she was cheerful and flexible when our flight got cancelled and we were delayed getting back. She really came through for us! We will book with her again.

Claire came for a first weekend visit with our two dogs and it went very well. She's very professional and personable and the dogs loved her. They were extremely well cared for and the house was in immaculate condition when we returned. It was very easy to communicate with her and get a quick response.

About: I have lots of experience with pet care. I grew up with big dogs, cats, and chickens and have been pet sitting since I was a kid. I have cared for dogs, cats, chickens, goats, turtles and fish and am comfortable with a wide range of animals. I have experience with live-in and drop-in care and am comfortable with basic pet needs including feeding, walking, nail trimmings, basic training, etc. I am flexible and can adjust how much time I am present depending on the family/pets needs. I have reliable transportation and currently have a flexible schedule. I am ok with late nights. I can stay in the home or just visit depending on the pets needs. I can take your pet on walks, play with them at home, bring them to a park, etc. I can follow a training regiment and provide food and consistent care.

Savanna has always been wonderful with our pup. We’ve used her several times now and feel very comfortable knowing our girl is in good hands with her! We have a pretty shy dog and she takes a while to warm up to people, but it’s clear that she loves Savanna and is very comfortable around her. Savanna sends updates (with pics!) daily and takes good care of our home too. I highly recommend Savanna!

Sophia is an excellent pet sitter! She has experience with senior dogs and I could tell when I met her that she would be the perfect sitter and companion for my two pups while we were away — I was not wrong! She followed my care instructions closely and provided consistent updates throughout the stay — I could tell the dogs were comfortable and happy with her from the photos she shared. She also left my house clean and tidy. I would absolutely hire Sophia again — she’s fantastic! Thank you so much, Sophia!

This was Lisa and Jeff's second time sitting for us, and again, I can't say enough about what incredibly WONDERFUL caring, thoughtful, communicative and totally dedicated pet sitters they are. They take care of our 11 year old cat and 7 year old dog truly as though the pets were their own--and our house too! They took the time to talk with us extensively about our pets' habits and needs before staying with them--doing a refresher before their second stay because the first time it had only been our cat they took care of--send frequent pictures and even videos in which we could hear our cat loudly purring while Lisa petted her and our dog's tail enthusiasically wagging. Wherever Lisa and Jeff were in the house--and the same for Lisa when she was on her own-- I could see from her pictures that both pets always wanted to stay close to them and that the pets were getting so much love and attention. Both pets were happy, calm and flourishing when we got home. Also, our cat has kidney problems and insists on drinking from the sink, and Lisa completely understood my worry that she get enough water--texting me pictures and even a video to reassure me that the cat was drinking like a champ. In addition to all of the wonderful care they gave our pets, Lisa and Jeff also went above and beyond in taking care of our house--not just washing the sheets and re-making the bed, but sweeping up the pet hair, leaving the bathroom and kitchen spotless and even sweeping off the back porch! We came back to happy healthy pets and a house that was cleaner than we'd left it (I left for vacation a week before my husband and daughter did, and I know from experience that that means the house was probably NOT spotless when they left it!). And to top it off, when my plane got delayed coming home (turning a 5:30 arrival into a 10:00 PM one, after Lisa and Jeff's booking ended at 3 PM), before I'd even had a chance to ask her the favor, Lisa was already driving back to the house to walk the dog, feed the pets dinner and keep them company until we knew for sure when I'd be able to get back. Lisa and Jeff truly love animals, and it shows in EVERYTHING they do.

Chevaughn did an amazing job! One of my dogs (Toffee) is 'very' skittish & does not warm up to new people well (it often takes weeks - sometimes months - for people just to be able to pet her). However, when we did the first meet & greet, Toffee was curious & got close enough to sniff him, which I thought was a great sign. But then... Chevaughn was actually able to pet her before leaving. She was wary, but let him. It kinda shocked me a bit. We had met with 2 other potential sitters & Toffee wouldn't get near them. With one of them, she wouldn't even come inside the house from the yard, not even for a treat, so long as the lady was there. Chevaughn has great energy, though. He was calm & assertive, moved gently around Carlee & Toffee, and they both became fast friends with him. While we were away, he even sent video of her licking his hand. That was a huge deal... Chevaughn was reliable, on time, consistent & most importantly, he is kind. Next time we need a sitter, he's our guy and I highly recommend him for taking care of your pups..

She stayed with mu furry clan and I returned to an immaculate house. I could not recommend Amy enough and will definitely request her again.

FAQs for House Sitting - White Cross

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in White Cross on Rover is $51.36 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 2,580 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across White Cross. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred White Cross walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in White Cross maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in White Cross choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in White Cross. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
