“Kate was great with Kai and Misifu! Usually they are pretty scared at first with new people, but they seemed to really like Kate a lot. She’s super gentle and made sure to take care of them as if they were her own. Highly recommended!!!”

“Sharon has been great with my pup! She has been wagging her tail in every photo that I've received. I'm super happy that I chose such a sweet helper this weekend. Thank you for all you've done to ensure that my little baby has had the best care.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats of all types! Neighbors, family, and friends rely on me to walk, feed, and play with pets! I’m currently a college student home for summer break so I have lots of time to dedicate to animals and making sure they are taken care of! When entering a clients home, I ensure no passwords or key codes are shared with others and no one else is entering the house. I ensure that I only enter necessary rooms for the animals care and that everything is locked up when I leave.
“Kelly was able to accommodate us last minute for a drop in visit for our pup. She was prompt and followed our instructions for our senior boy. We would highly recommend!”

About: Hey, my name is Tiffani! I've been taking care of my own pets since I was about ten years old. Along with that, I have been pet sitting for family, friends, and neighbors for about the same amount of time. I currently have two dogs, Draco and Rhino, who are both pitbulls, so I have experience caring for big dogs. Although I do not currently have a cat, I have experience caring for cats and kittens and would be thrilled to take care of your furry friend. I will provide a wide variety of services, including walks/potty breaks, feeding, playtime, administering medication if needed, and overnight in-home sitting. I am also happy to help with basic grooming, such as brushing and keeping your pet’s area tidy. My goal is to tailor my services to each pet's needs, ensuring they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. As for my availability, I am in college and work part-time, but my schedule is still very flexible. That means I can stop in for quick visits, hang out for longer play sessions, or even stay overnight if your pet needs extra company. Making sure your pets feel happy, safe, and loved is always what matters most to me! While I am currently in school, working part-time, and volunteering at an animal sanctuary each week, I am very comfortable managing a busy schedule. In addition to caring for my own pets, feeding, walking, playing, and of course, cuddling, I am more than happy to fit your pets into my routine. Whether your pet needs an hour-long walk or overnight care, I am flexible and prepared to accommodate their needs. My dogs get along very well, even though they were introduced to each other a few years apart. However, they must be fed separately to prevent any fights or food stealing. I also have experience caring for dogs who cannot be in the same space together. Because of this, I am fully capable of handling specific care requests, whether that means feeding pets separately or maintaining a safe distance between them for their safety.
“Dafna arrived on time every day and was easy and pleasant to communicate with. She followed my instructions and made an effort to interact with my sometimes skittish kitties! I will definitely rebook in the future.”

About: I have lots of experience with pet care. I grew up with big dogs, cats, and chickens and have been pet sitting since I was a kid. I have cared for dogs, cats, chickens, goats, turtles and fish and am comfortable with a wide range of animals. I have experience with live-in and drop-in care and am comfortable with basic pet needs including feeding, walking, nail trimmings, basic training, etc. I am flexible and can adjust how much time I am present depending on the family/pets needs. I have reliable transportation and currently have a flexible schedule. I am ok with late nights. I can stay in the home or just visit depending on the pets needs. I can take your pet on walks, play with them at home, bring them to a park, etc. I can follow a training regiment and provide food and consistent care.
“Ria is an awesome pet sitter! She did such a great job with Chacco, even with all his crazy puppy energy. I really liked that she does a meet-and-greet before the visits to get to know the pets and owners. She’s super warm, friendly, flexible, and just overall great!”

“Our dog can be anxious. We set up a weekly walk with Tina on days when we are less available. Our dog does great with Tina for a walk or run. It has worked out great for us. Tina communicates well and is reliable.”

About: Worked with Dogs and Cats both young and old. Along with a small range of farm animals like chickens and goats. Additionally I have works with some more unique pets like chinchillas. I have also done some house sitting off and on for a few years. Currently working part time over the summer so have more than enough time at all times throughout the week. I am free pretty much 24/7 all day every week but tend to like one day notice of booking. I have a small back yard that’s fenced in and more than enough space both within and outside my house. I also can let them out, feed, play, whatever they need if ever or whenever you would like me to go to your house.

About: I’ve had pets all my life, but didn’t have dogs too until 7 years ago. Since then I have found the ability to manage 4 pets all together and make sure they have equal amount of love and attention that they deserve. I’m currently looking for a full time job, as I have just graduated college. Since I’m a big animal lover, with 4 pets myself, I’m looking to spend some of my free time taking care of animals- because what’s better than hangouting with our 4 legged friends. I have a spacious backyard where my pets play. As well as in my neighborhood I am able to take them on walks on the sidewalk. Near my neighborhood is also the Carolina Forest, where I take my dogs for walks frequently.
“Agus was a huge relief as a first-time user of this platform. Provided plenty of pictures and updates, and took special care to ensure that my cat didn't lock himself in any rooms. Did a great job of caring for my cat, and made sure to spend time playing and visiting with him so he didn't get lonely while I was gone. I would definitely recommend Agus to anyone searching for a pet sitter, and will absolutely be reaching out again next time I am in need of one.”

About: Hello! Thank you for considering me to care for your furry family members. My guiding principle is to treat every pet in my care with the same love and attention I give my own elderly Greyhound and sweet tabby cat. Regardless of whether I am there for drop-ins or house-sitting, my goal is to ensure your pet feels safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I have experience caring for young, high-energy cats and dogs as well as senior pets, and I adjust my caregiving style according to your pets' needs. Whether providing long walks and lots of playtime, or slower days cuddling on the couch, I would be honored to help your pets stay happy and healthy while you're away! More details about my cat care experience and safety principles are provided in the Details tab. Scheduling: I just finished my Ph.D. program and am in the process of applying for jobs. That means I have a flexible schedule for you and your pets! I can provide daily drop-ins for any amount of days, or can stay in your home with your pet(s) for up to 4 days. When I am caring for your pets in your home my priority is maintaining their familiar routine to keep stress levels low. ----- Dogs ----- Safety & Exercise: During walks, I always use a leash and practice defensive walking. This means if I see another dog approaching, I will cross the road or move off the sidewalk with your pup to prevent potential conflict or overstimulation. If your dog prefers a faster pace, I’m happy to go for a run with them. I also always supervise backyard time if you have a fenced backyard area. Playtime: For high-energy pups, I'm happy to play with them using their favorite toys. For older pups, I can do gentle playtime and always love couch snuggles (only if they’re allowed on the furniture!). Crating: I follow your house rules. I do not typically use crates unless specifically requested as part of your training or safety routine. ----- Cats ----- Safety & trust: I will follow your cats' lead. I never pick up cats or invade their personal space unless invited by them. If they want to play or receive cuddles, I will be honored to do so! Indoor/outdoor dynamics: I have experience working with indoor and indoor/outdoor cats. Cleanliness & feeding: I clean litter boxes as soon as they're soiled, and will follow your feeding instructions. I've worked with cats that free-feed and those that have scheduled feedings.

About: Hello! My name is Rylie, and I’m a Ph.D. student with a lifelong love of animals! I’ve had pets of all shapes and sizes from the time I was little, ranging from tiny budgies and pint-sized Pomeranians to 120lb Great Danes. In addition to cats and dogs, I have extensive experience caring for a range of small animals and pets, including birds, guinea pigs, rats, ferrets, turtles, geckos, fish, and even shrimp! I’ve also done work in wildlife rescue and research, volunteering with bird banding and conservation efforts. I have experience with a wide variety of petsitting formats— I’ve done both long-term and short-term housesitting, drop-ins, and dog walking (my favorite!). In short, I’m a flexible, versatile, and experienced sitter, who is here to help with whatever pet care needs you may have! DISCOUNT! If you don’t require overnight care, I provide a discount for daytime-only housesitting (12 hours of care, typically 8am-8pm, or as needed). If this seems like a good fit for you, shoot me a message! I’m an early riser with several large breaks in my schedule (particularly around lunch) during the work week! As such, I’m the perfect person to call if your pet likes to be up and at ‘em in the morning, or needs someone to keep them company during the workday! I am also enthusiastic about hiking and running, so if you have a more active dog in need of a long walk, I’d be thrilled to get out and explore with them! I want to make your absence as easy as possible on both you and your sweet pet! As such, I do my best to keep up your pets usual routine and leave your house just as I found it, so that when you come back you can pick up exactly where you left off!

About: We have had dogs in our family for years. I have all the basic experience of taking care of a crate trained dog. We also had a high energy Australian shepherd that had to go boot camp a few times…that being said I understand their training is very important to keep up so I am open and receptive to all their training and dietary needs. I am available through August most days. I am a school teacher so once the school year starts up I will be available for afternoon drop ins or boarding etc. With all the instructions you provide me for them and exceptional love and care. Furry friends deserve to feel comfortable too. I will take any crates, beds, toys etc. that they need and try to keep them on their routine as close as possible.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in White Cross. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
