“Autumn was fabulous! She took great care of our shy cat and sent many photos that my daughter appreciated very much! We recommend her highly and hope to have her catsit for us again!”

“Ria was a life saver! My original pet sitter dropped out on me last minute, and Ria was able to help me out at the buzzer. She took excellent care of my two dogs. I am so grateful for her!”

“She was amazing. I was stressed prior to leaving on our trip since we would be out of the country and we had just had a tree fall on the house. She reassured me every day that my fur baby was doing well by notes and lots of pictures. I have to say that she really is a great cat person and that comes from my kitty who does not do well with strangers. Aspen took the time to love her and to even brush her which made my day as well as my kitty's. Will use again.”

“Dafna arrived on time every day and was easy and pleasant to communicate with. She followed my instructions and made an effort to interact with my sometimes skittish kitties! I will definitely rebook in the future.”

“I’m glad Hilary was able to look after our cats. I was able to be away from home without worry. She sent good updates every day and I can tell the cats got plenty of attention. I would be happy to book with her again or recommend her to someone else.”

“Tova took such good care of my kitties! Our kitties obviously love her:) She fed them and cleaned the water tank as instructed. Tova even cleaned the litter box and vacuumed the area. Will definitely book with her if needed!!”

“Violet was a super prompt communicator and had no issues taking over on caring for our cat, Miso. She even traversed rough storm weather to check on her when we were out of the country. Would def book again!”

“Caleigh was great with my dogs. Even my big mastiff. She watched 3 dogs for me and did a wonderful job. She was on time and was able to get pictures of all of them each time she came by. I booked her late but she was responsive and professional. I highly recommend her to anyone.”

About: I’ve helped many of my friends with pet care, including dog walking and overnight stays, often just because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. Through these experiences, I’ve gained a lot of hands-on practice with walking dogs, playing with them, and making sure they get the exercise and attention they need. I’ve also been involved in some stray animal rescue efforts, which gave me additional experience caring for animals with different temperaments and needs. In addition to cats and dogs, I’ve personally cared for several other pets over the years, including rabbits, lizards, and hamsters. Because of this, I’m comfortable around many kinds of animals and understand that each one has their own personality and care routine. Taking care of animals is something I truly enjoy, and I always try to make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I’m graduating soon and just finished my clinical rotation, so starting after spring break (March 17) my schedule will be very flexible. I’m generally available Monday–Thursday from 5 PM to 10 PM, and Friday–Sunday I’m available all day. I prefer confirming bookings at least three days in advance when possible, but last-minute requests are also welcome. Honestly, those are always a fun surprise for me because I truly love spending time with animals! My top priority is always making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and stress-free while their owners are away. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, playtime, (and litter box cleaning if my client is a cat). Keeping their normal environment and routine helps pets feel more secure. I keep the home tidy, double check doors and safety, and I’m careful about preventing escape risks. I’m also happy to send regular updates and photos so owners can relax knowing their pets are safe and well cared for.
About: I am a Registered Veterinary Technician and work in a vet clinic. I have experience with giving oral and injectable medications. I can work with senior and special needs dogs and have animal CPR and first aid training. I would love to help out with your baby. I work full time but have availability early in the morning and after 3:30pm. I am free all day on Mondays and I rotate weekend work schedule but still have available time every weekend. I have a fenced in back yard and a dog and three cats. There are separate housing rooms available in the home and lots of toys!

“Our dog can be anxious. We set up a weekly walk with Tina on days when we are less available. Our dog does great with Tina for a walk or run. It has worked out great for us. Tina communicates well and is reliable.”

About: I’ve taken care of different pets my whole life! I’ve always had a ledger dog, but love animals in all shapes and sizes. I am an avid walker, and would love to take your animal out on walks or stay with them during a vacation! I am starting my nursing job the 20th and am available most days that I am off after I start. I am an early riser and usually go on a walk in the morning and throughout my day! I am in an apartment with lots of trails and dog parks within walking distance. My complex is extremely pet friendly, with a dog park/ play area on the property.

“Natalie was GREAT!! Our cats LOVED her, probably more than they like us even! She was able to coax our very curmudgeonly elderly cat out from her hiding place and interact with her on each of the home visits! Natalie took great photos and shared pertinent and expansive notes about her home visits, too, which put us at ease as we vacationed. Would definitely book again! (Oh, and she brought in our delivered packages while we were away, without prompting, which was much appreciated!)”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in White Cross. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
