About: Hi there! My name is Bridgette and I am 22. I've taken care of pets of all kinds since I was 9 years old! While I have been a dog lover and owner my whole life, I have tons of experience caring for and loving cats as well. Friends, neighbors, and family members have relied on me to look after their pets for weeks at a time. Additionally, I have extensive experience caring for rescue dogs, senior dogs, and dogs with greater needs. I work a hybrid schedule in the Triangle area and have tons of flexibility. If you have some feathered friends in addition to your dog or cat, or simply a flock by itself, I am more than willing to look after them. Feed and water refill, egg collection, coop opening/closing, and coop cleanup are all tasks that I am well versed in. I am able to care for pets before and after my in-person commitments, and will oftentimes be able to spend the whole day with them! My weekends are completely open. Not only have I taken care of the ones I have at home, but since the age of 12, my neighbors and family friends have trusted me to take care of their pets. About: I’ve been unofficially pet sitting throughout my entire undergraduate experience, caring for pets for friends, classmates, and others who needed someone they could trust. As a dog mom myself, I know that taking care of someone’s pet means so much more than simply feeding them, taking them outside, and making sure they’re safe. I believe verbal stimulation and interaction are so important for building trust and creating a connection. Animals read energy incredibly well, so I always bring lots of positive energy, patience, and affection. I’m also a very active person, and I believe our pets love staying active too! Whether that means a long walk, playing outside, throwing a ball 100 times, or just keeping them entertained inside, I’m happy to match their energy. At the same time, I understand that every pet is different, so if your pet would rather curl up next to me and get attention, I’m more than happy to do that too. My goal is for your pet to feel like they’re spending time with a friend, not just a sitter. Pet care is already a big part of my everyday routine! I like to wake up extra early, usually around 6 a.m., to make sure my own dog gets a good walk before I head to class. He’s a husky, so our early morning walks mean cooler weather for him and, of course, plenty of time to roll around in the morning dew! I typically have a break in the middle of the day when I come home for lunch and another walk, and most of my evenings are spent studying and cuddling with my dog on the couch. My schedule gives me plenty of flexibility in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings to give other pets that same level of attention, exercise, and companionship. I know firsthand how important it is to have people you genuinely trust with your pet. I got Bucky (my chocolate lab/husky) as a puppy during my sophomore year of college, and I was incredibly lucky to have a “village” of people who helped me raise him. Whether I was in class, away at a track meet, or simply couldn’t get home, I never had to worry about whether Bucky had been fed, taken outside, or even gotten safely out of the building during a fire alarm. I’m still so thankful for the people who loved and looked out for him when I couldn’t be there, and I hope to provide that same sense of security and peace of mind for other pet owners. I want you to be able to leave knowing that someone is not just checking on your pet, but genuinely looking out for them. I treat someone else’s pet with the same level of care and attention I would want someone to give my own. I think animals are very good at reading our energy, so I focus on creating a calm, positive, and comfortable environment where they can warm up to me at their own pace. I love getting down on their level, talking to them, playing with them, and learning their individual personality and routine. Safety is always my priority, so I’m careful with doors, leashes, feeding instructions, medications or special needs, and anything else their owner tells me is important.
