“Winter did a great job taking care of our 4 cats. I really appreciate how easy the whole process was and how well Winter communicated and kept us posted while we were away. Thanks so much!”

“Alexandra did a fantastic job watching my dog! She truly cares, communicates well, and was super flexible—even with last-minute changes. I really appreciate her help. Thank you so much!”

“Eli did a great job watching my cat. He showed up consistently, sent pictures of the cat, her food/water/litter box and even brushed her! Daisy came out to see him on the first day and she doesn't like strangers!”

“Sophie did such a great job with Stitch (my cat)! I was nervous hiring someone from Rover as i’ve never done it before but Sophie made me feel completely at ease as she cared for him for 5 days while I was away on a work trip. She sent detailed updates & adorable pictures after each visit & it allowed me to truly be present in my work! Stitch is usually itching for attention when I come back home but he was so sleepy because Sophie made sure he got play time & cuddles in everyday! I’ve also been neglecting my clocks since daylight savings & i’m pretty sure she adjusted the time which was also a small gesture but a huge help lol. Thank you Sophie I will definitely be booking again.”

“Brooke was very professional and caring. She went above and beyond with terrible weather, tree falling on house, and kitty who hid, She was able to handle the unexpected and the worrisome. Brooke cleaned the floor in our bedroom that had debris from the fallen tree to prevent the kitty from eating the pieces of wood and plaster. Kitties were well fed and cared for. I would highly recommend Brooke.”

“Kim was absolutely amazing with our two senior cats! She followed their feeding routine perfectly, sent the cutest daily pics and updates, and kept us so informed and at ease the whole time. One of our cats warmed up to her right away, and the other one is a certified weirdo with strangers who actually chose to be around her instead of hiding under the bed (for our weirdo, that's basically a five star review). We will definitely be booking Kim again and highly recommend her to anyone who wants their furry babies in wonderful hands.”

“We are so thankful to have found Kate! She is amazing with our energetic puppy. He absolutely adores her and is thoroughly tuckered out after their walks, playtime and adventures. I have never used a service like Rover before, but Kate immediately put me at ease. I was able to schedule our visits very timely and feel like Kate keeps us updated with how each visit goes. She is cognizant of puppy development and helps to support our training of our pup by using the same language, routines, and providing incredibly helpful tips. She is a lifesaver and I wholeheartedly recommend her services!”

“Joy is simply outstanding as a caregiver. I was in need of a new sitter for my fur baby (on rather short notice) and thankfully Joy was available and responded promptly to schedule our first meeting. It became very clear that Joy is well experienced in caring for all of the nuances of cat care and she welcomed learning as much about my kitty as she could. My cat warmed up to her very quickly, which put me at great ease. Joy provided such personalized and tender care, making sure she paid attention to all the little things. She sent tons of photos and detailed summaries of her interactions and observations and other necessary updates. I feel so fortunate to have found her and have already booked her services for an upcoming trip.”

“Excellent service Fantastic with the cats lots of attention! They usually hide from strangers but they come out when Meredith check in . They truly like her. Thank you sooo much Meredith for taking good care of my cats. I feel relaxed and confident they are in good hands!”

“Miyu went above and beyond in every way for our cats! Normally they are pretty panicked when we leave home for a few days, and one of our cats requires an inhaler twice a day. Miyu handles everything perfectly. When we came home, it was like we went out to lunch instead of leaving the state. She is super responsive and great with even our shy and and skittish cat. Can’t recommend her enough!”

“Yuji took care of my two senior dogs and did a fabulous job. I was impressed with Yuji’s kindness and attentiveness to my dogs starting with out wonderful meet and greet. Yuji sent me regular reports and pictures that I didn’t worry while I was gone. This was the first time I used Rover.com, and it was such a great experience with Yuji….i look to the next time!”

About: Hello! I am 38, been in Durham since 2013, and I have lived with several friends who had dogs, so I got my start taking care of them when our human housemates were out of town. One of those longtime housemates is a certified dog trainer who had three dogs when we lived together, so I learned a lot from them about dog care and behavior! In my mid 20’s, I was referred to a friend’s parents for overnight dog sitting. I ended up loving it and have been dog sitting for them for 10+years. I’ve also taken care of their three adult children’s pets when they’re on vacation many times, proving that they trust me with their whole family 💜 Three of the dogs I have taken care of have been seniors with medications, special diets and/or needs, such as more frequent potty breaks, or help getting up and down stairs. I enjoy spending special time with those elderly family members. Since then, I have been referred to several other people for overnight stays. I have a few regular clients whose cats and dogs I stay with as well. I grew up a cat person, rescuing and raising kittens from a feral cat colony in our neighborhood. We had six of our own throughout the years who all lived to be between 18-22 years old! I have also taken care of chickens, rabbits, and guinea pigs several times. I love to garden and take care of plants, as I have worked on a couple farms for several years and currently live with someone who owns a landscaping/garden business 🌱 I am currently in between jobs while pursuing a new career. Previously, I have managed catering companies for the last 10 years. While I am job hunting, I am very flexible to spend as much time as needed with your pet! When I am staying with a new dog, I make sure to use the owners’ commands, following their instructions to a ‘T’. I believe that dogs can sense when someone isn’t comfortable with them, so I try to establish a trusting relationship where the dog will respect me while also feeling calm with me, during the time when their person isn’t home. I would love to have repeat clients in order to build a longer relationship with them. It always feels so good when I show up to a client’s house and their pet is as excited to see me as I am to see them💖
About: I've had a dog in my life for the past 17 years and have loved every second of it. Dogs truly are god's gift to man, and I try to do everything in my power to allow them to have the most engaging and enjoyable experiences possible. For the past year and a half, my family has been fostering dogs until they are adopted. Because of this, I have experience watching over and entertaining all kinds of different breeds of dogs with different attitudes and levels of energy, usually multiple dogs at once. With the services I offer (house sitting, drop-in visits, and dog walking) I will make sure each dog gets individual attention, proper care, and of course loads of affection. I enjoy playing with dogs, cuddling with dogs, wrestling with dogs, playing fetch with dogs, taking them to dog parks, and anything else they could possibly desire. When taking care of your dog, you can be confident that your dog will be in a loving and fun-filled environment. I am currently working full time as a graduate student so my schedule is skewed toward weekend booking starting Friday afternoon/evening through Sunday evening. That being said, I am able to make exceptions depending on the specific situation, so please feel free to reach out if you are at all interested! I'm only able to offer pet car in the client's home at this time. However, I strive to ensure pets are as comfortable at home with me as they are with their owners, and try to re-create the home schedule that they are used to with their owner, including meal times, walks and bathroom break, and cuddle and play time. I make sure to keep owners in the loop with pictures/videos and 1-2 updates per day. Additionally, I strive to leave the home as clean and tidy as when I arrived, so the owner wouldn't even know I was there.

Meghan was a fantastic cat-sitter. We have two social cats who accepted her real quickly. The cats were well-fed and taken care of. She gave the cats all the attention they needed. Meghan kept us updated daily with photos and notes about the cats. We will book her again.

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Willow Ridge. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
