“Eli is excellent! Very dependable, he spent lots of snuggly time to make my anxious dog trust him. And he kept my plants alive during a drought. I will rebook with Eli when needed next!”

“Alyson was great! Gave daily updates including photos and provided a nice balance of love/care and respect of boundaries for our cats. Would definitely book again!”

“Brian did a fantastic job with my old lab and finicky cat! They both loved him and I will absolutely book Brian if he is available next time we are out of town. Highly recommended!”

“Caitlin was so attentive and caring with our home and pets. She definitely loved them as her own and gave us wonderful updates and took the time they needed. We will be reaching back out to her in the future. It’s difficult to find someone you can trust and she is very kind as well as trusting. Thank you again so much again”

“Brooke was a lifesaver over the Christmas holidays! She took great care of our two cats and was extremely communicative and reliable. I highly recommend her services and will certainly book her again.”

“Cameron took wonderful care of our cats while we were away. He was kind, gentle, and incredibly thoughtful with them. He spent quality time playing with them and kept us updated every day with photos and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind. Our cats are naturally shy, but Cameron was patient and let them warm up at their own pace, it was amazing to see that they had opened up to him within just two days. Beyond being fantastic with pets, Cameron is also a genuinely pleasant person to talk to. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would happily book him again!”

“Julie provided excellent care for our two Sphynx cats and bearded dragon while we were out of the country visiting family. Finding someone willing and able to care for a bearded dragon can be difficult, but Julie immediately put us at ease with her attention to detail, reliability, and fantastic communication. We always felt informed and confident that our pets were receiving great care. She truly went above and beyond, even taking the time to water our small garden while we were away. We returned home to happy pets and a well-cared-for home, and we would gladly book Julie again for future pet-sitting needs!”

“Tyler was great. We could tell right away the care and consideration that was taken into watching our dog. Very communicative even double checking on things when somethings happened beyond our control. We really appreciated it and will def be our #1”

About: Hi! My legal name is Diana, but I prefer to go by Joey. I grew up with pets of all kinds, and have been pet-sitting for over ten years. I began in my neighborhood when I was in middle school, and over the years, I became well-acquainted with my neighbors and their pets. Several continue to hire me to this day. I have experience with dogs, cats, and many exotic species. I'm particularly fond of reptiles and have a leopard gecko. I am patient and calm, so elderly and shy animals tend to do well with me. Respecting an animal's boundaries (while ensuring they are properly taken care of) is very important to me. Most recently, I worked with Pet Butler and received over twenty 5-star reviews while employed by them. I do freelance work from home and make my own schedule, so I can accommodate my clients easily. When house-sitting, I spend the majority of my time in the client's home, prioritizing that pet's schedule while doing other drop-in visits during the day if possible. I offer drop-in visits and house-sitting at my client's home. I am very detail-oriented and read instructions before each job, regularly referencing them while getting to know the routine. Safety is very important to me, so for any pet visit, there are some basic protocols I follow. I do not use retractable leashes and keep a spare in my car in case a client does not have a standard leash.
“Joy is our new favorite pet sitter! She is excellent! Her communication is clear and thorough, she asks great questions to get to know what your pets need, and shares lots of photos. We had a wonderful meet and greet which let us travel knowing that everything would be taken care of. Even hiccups are deftly handled. Our litter box broke and Joy came up with a solution and let us know right away! She was also super thoughtful to take care of some packages that arrived while we were gone. The house was clean and our cats were calm and settled when we got back home. We will absolutely ask Joy to come back!”

“Excellent fur baby care giver! Prompt, reliable and Finn absolutely adores her. Alex, we will miss you terribly as you leave for college, but we are forever grateful for the loving care you provided this summer.”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life, and I understand what it’s like to leave them at home and miss them every second, wondering if they’re okay. I’ve taken care of dogs and cats from infancy to end of life, bad babies and anxious angels (a current description of my two cats), every one deserves compassion and love! I’m a manager for a small retail business during our slow season, so my schedule is flexible! Just let me know what your needs are so we can see if it would be a good fit, I’m very responsive. I am very happy to provide whatever is preferred to keep your babies happy! Playtime, mealtime, long walks, crating, etc is no problem at all.
“We LOVE Anita! She took such wonderful care of my puppy, Atlas, and made sure she was comfortable, safe, and happy the entire time. It’s clear she has a true passion for animals, and I felt completely at ease knowing Atlas was in such great hands. She provided updates, was incredibly professional, and went above and beyond to accommodate her needs. I highly recommend Anita to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter—Atlas will definitely be visiting again!💛”

“Sarah was a great sitter for our two cats, fish and gecko! Our meet and greet was a pleasure, she was always prompt with messages and very understanding & adaptable about our cat’s grumpy demeanor. I would definitely book with her again!”

About: Have had at least 1 pet for over 25 years. Wife and I are recent empty nesters that went from having 4 cats and 2 dogs to a Lab and 1 cat when the last of our 4 kids moved out. We love all animals and will treat them like our own. I am a public school teacher, so I am fortunate enough to have summers off. So my availability is very open even a short notice. We have a dog park for them to play at our place. Our Labrador Bailey will be put in crate until they get acquainted if needed. Bailey is friendly as can be, however I know animals can get nervous in new environments. If coming to your residence I will request and do’s or dont’s to ensure your animal is taken care of up to your expectations and above. I am a public school teacher, so I am fortunate enough to have summers off. So my availability is very open even a short notice. Love all animals and will freaky all animals as if they are my own. We would be honored to treat your animal to a nice vacation as you enjoy yours. My wife and I are retired and have a very flexible schedule. We are happy to accommodate any requests or special needs you may have. We cater to each individual animals personality. We try to maintain and provide care as close to wider the animal is used to in a daily basis in order to minimize any stress.
About: I've had a dog in my life for the past 17 years and have loved every second of it. Dogs truly are god's gift to man, and I try to do everything in my power to allow them to have the most engaging and enjoyable experiences possible. For the past year and a half, my family has been fostering dogs until they are adopted. Because of this, I have experience watching over and entertaining all kinds of different breeds of dogs with different attitudes and levels of energy, usually multiple dogs at once. With the services I offer (house sitting, drop-in visits, and dog walking) I will make sure each dog gets individual attention, proper care, and of course loads of affection. I enjoy playing with dogs, cuddling with dogs, wrestling with dogs, playing fetch with dogs, taking them to dog parks, and anything else they could possibly desire. When taking care of your dog, you can be confident that your dog will be in a loving and fun-filled environment. I am currently working full time as a graduate student so my schedule is skewed toward weekend booking starting Friday afternoon/evening through Sunday evening. That being said, I am able to make exceptions depending on the specific situation, so please feel free to reach out if you are at all interested! I'm only able to offer pet car in the client's home at this time. However, I strive to ensure pets are as comfortable at home with me as they are with their owners, and try to re-create the home schedule that they are used to with their owner, including meal times, walks and bathroom break, and cuddle and play time. I make sure to keep owners in the loop with pictures/videos and 1-2 updates per day. Additionally, I strive to leave the home as clean and tidy as when I arrived, so the owner wouldn't even know I was there.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
