“Ivy is an awesome sitter! She is communicative and sends multiple updates through the day; I love getting cute mid-play action pics! Her dog, Skylar, is just the cutest and is super friendly. My pup wasted no time warming up to her and playing right away. Will definitely book again ☺️”

“Elizabeth is absolutely amazing! Skye had such a wonderful time at her place, playing all day with his new pals! I wouldn’t hesitate to have her watch Skye again… he seemed quite sad to be leaving her!”

“Debra is a wonderful sitter! She is flexible with times and days of drop-offs and she is a great communicator. Theo loves going over there to play with his friends, play fetch, and run around in her yard!”

About: Hi, my name is Destiny I am currently studying to become a Dental Assistant. I am a very outgoing person who loves to play with animals. I currently dog sit for my aunt's dog JoJo whenever she is away traveling. I think I would be an amazing caregiver because I would care so much about the well-being as well as the happiness of your pet. I am good at providing cute pictures and videos of your pet to reassure you and make you feel as comfortable as possible. Overall, your pet would become like one of my best friends. I am currently taking classes online, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of availability to provide pet care. I can accommodate different time slots for walks, feedings, or overnight stay. I have a dog park in my neighborhood that a lot of the dogs love to play at. I also have a really big green field that typically a lot of dogs love playing in as well as taking mini walks.
“Erica was absolutely wonderful with Missy! She was so gentle and caring, and I could tell Missy felt relaxed and happy in her care. I really appreciated Erica’s attention and kindness, and I’m definitely looking forward to booking with her again. Highly recommend!”

About: I have been taking care of pups at every stage of life throughout my entire life. I love making sure all pets feel safe and loved. I can't wait to encourage play time with your pup! I am currently working fully remote and am able to take care of your pet throughout the day. I encourage outside, play, and walk time several times throughout the day! I have a fenced in yard and one pup named Sasha who is very receptive to the needs of other dogs (i.e., space, play, nap time, etc.).
“It was the first time we left our dog, so were a little worried but Kim kept us posted about Teddy's stay there. She sent us pictures, our dog looked very happy. We will strongly recommend her and will use her service again.”

About: I've cared for many dogs and cats of various breeds, ages and temperaments, I was a caregiver for an elderly woman in her 90s, I am confident in my care ability. I am available to care for your pet just as I care for mine daily. I currently work part time in the afternoons 2-6pm so your pet will not be left alone for longer than that. I ensure that their food is given on time twice a day and clean up any mess they may have made. I make sure my cats litter box is clean and they're clean.
“What a great experience with Martine and her husband. They obviously made Bryce feel welcomed in their home … as by the second day he went straight to her front door and didn’t look back while I was leaving. Also want to “shout out” her willingness to be a bit flexible with the schedule … (I was meeting a friend locally and wanted to be able to enjoy Raleigh for dinner (which was awesome at The Plate). This pet sitting experience enhanced my visit to Raleigh !!!”

“Gretchen was absolutely amazing with our dog, Molly. This was our first time using Rover, and naturally we were a little nervous leaving her with someone new, especially because Molly can be anxious and has a few special considerations. Gretchen immediately put us at ease. She was kind, attentive, communicative, and clearly cared about making Molly feel safe and comfortable in her home. We received updates and could tell Molly was being genuinely cared for, not just watched. Gretchen was also very patient with Molly’s quirks and made the entire experience stress-free for us. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone dependable, compassionate, and attentive.”

“Sloane is the BEST!! Her updates are detailed with lots of photos, and as an anxious dog mom, I really appreciate that! Cooper has such a great time with her and always comes home tired from all the fun. 10/10, cannot recommend more!”

“Teddy had a great time at Melissa’s! He came home very tired and she sent lots of videos and pix of Teddy running around with her dogs in the fenced in backyard. I would definitely take Teddy back to them in the future.”

About: I have extensive experience working with animals, including working closely with veterinarians, fostering adoptable dogs, providing pet care for family and friends, and having many different kinds of furry family members over the years. Let my experience give you peace of mind while you’re away—your fur babies are in good hands. When you book me for pet sitting, your furry family member is absolutely the priority. Do they like to be active? Then that’s what we’re doing. Are they lazy? I can snuggle with the best of them. Do they need to go out often? Got it. Two walks a day? Done. Whatever it is, you can count on me to provide the best care for your best bud. My pet sitting (and boarding) spots have gone quickly so far, so if my availability matches your needs, send me a message and we can set up an initial meeting so you and your loved ones can meet me and we can all make sure I’m the right fit. While caring for your pets in your home, I can also water your plants, bring any packages inside, put trash bins at the curb if it’s trash day, etc. Just let me know what you need and I’ll let you know if I can help with it. I apply the same level of care to boarding. My fees are a little lower since I don’t have to travel to your pet, but in my home, your pet’s still my #1 priority. I provide the same attention I’d give them in your home if not more, because I know my environment isn’t the one they’re used to. Whether your furry fam needs a fun walk, a cozy place to stay, or loving care while you're away, I'll treat them with the same patience, kindness, and attention I'd give my own. Regardless if your pup is energetic and playful, shy and cautious, or a senior who enjoys a slower pace, I'll make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved. You can count on me for reliable communication, photo updates, and plenty of cuddles, playtime, and exercise. My goal is to give you peace of mind while making sure your pet has a great experience. I'd love the opportunity to meet you and your pet and become someone you can trust whenever you need dependable, compassionate care. I have a flexible schedule and can accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening visits throughout the week. I do my best to work around your pet's routine to help them feel comfortable and keep their day as normal as possible. Whether you need regular care or last-minute help, I'll communicate promptly and do everything I can to meet your needs. When visiting your home, I leave no trace other than a happy pet. At my house, I have a fenced in yard, pool, dog door I can open or close if your pet isn’t good with those, treats, toys, and comfy spots to rest. The dog I had for 15 years (who recently passed) would absolutely vouch for these little sunny spots that show up in different parts of my house across the day. Regardless of location, I will stick to your pet’s schedule and make sure their needs are met.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Neuse
Meghan was an amazing sitter for my fur baby Serena. We were scrambling to find someone to watch her since her doggy daycare was closed and we were only in Raleigh for the day. Thankfully, Meghan was such an angel and accepted our request to do daycare for her at the last minute. She took such good care of my dog and I will definitely book with her again the next time we’re in Raleigh.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
