“Elizabeth is absolutely amazing! Skye had such a wonderful time at her place, playing all day with his new pals! I wouldn’t hesitate to have her watch Skye again… he seemed quite sad to be leaving her!”

“Best pet sitter ever!! Sylvia has provided daycare for our dog during weekdays over the summer and it has been such a wonderful experience. Our puppy is a high energy breed and requires tons of exercise. When we pick him up at the end of the day he is happy and exhausted! He even pulls towards her door when we drop him off in the mornings because he is so excited. Her dog Fitz Roy is very patient with our puppy and Sylvia sends us daily videos of them playing together which has been great. We couldn’t ask for a better situation to socialize our puppy while knowing he’s in great hands. To showcase Sylvia’s kindness and high level of care for our puppy even more, Sylvia and her husband offered to provide a higher level of care for our puppy after he recently obtained a sports injury playing frisbee with his owners (us). Placing him in somebody’s care is a huge deal to us, just as it would be for our child yet we trust Sylvia and her husband with our puppy. They are going above and beyond to make sure he has constant supervision and gets his meds etc. and that is saying something. Like all pet owners know, it is extremely important to make sure your pet is with the right “fit” and I am driving 3.5 hours round trip daily to take him to her place before and after work because I feel so strongly that Sylvia is trustworthy, responsible, caring and will go above and beyond to make sure our dog is looked after and loved!”

“It was the first time we left our dog, so were a little worried but Kim kept us posted about Teddy's stay there. She sent us pictures, our dog looked very happy. We will strongly recommend her and will use her service again.”

“Ivy is an awesome sitter! She is communicative and sends multiple updates through the day; I love getting cute mid-play action pics! Her dog, Skylar, is just the cutest and is super friendly. My pup wasted no time warming up to her and playing right away. Will definitely book again ☺️”

“Gretchen was absolutely amazing with our dog, Molly. This was our first time using Rover, and naturally we were a little nervous leaving her with someone new, especially because Molly can be anxious and has a few special considerations. Gretchen immediately put us at ease. She was kind, attentive, communicative, and clearly cared about making Molly feel safe and comfortable in her home. We received updates and could tell Molly was being genuinely cared for, not just watched. Gretchen was also very patient with Molly’s quirks and made the entire experience stress-free for us. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone dependable, compassionate, and attentive.”

“Debra was wonderful with my dog Kiwi who gets scared in new situations. I saw how he took to her and he looked very comfortable to be with her and excited to play with her dogs. Thanks Debra!!!”

About: I have had dogs, cats and other small animals most of my life. I take care of my friends and family pets for extended amounts of time. I am able to give oral medication, injections and lots of belly rubs! I have fostered many dogs and that is how I adopted my most recent dog Lucy. 🐶 I am spending much of my time home. Your pup will get lots of love and attention from me and my girl Lucy throughout the day. I do not have a fenced yard. I live in the woods next to a nature preserve, so there are no other dogs nearby to chase. I NEVER take a dog off leash in my yard!!! I have a very large deck with railings that will prevent a dog from escaping. If the weather is nice, the dogs will sometimes hang out on the deck. There is a large area in the basement to play fetch and horseplay. My dog is crate trained and will stay in her crate when I leave the home. I prefer to have all dogs in a crate when I am not home to prevent an accidental peeing or pooping accident. The dogs typically sleep on the floor on a dog bed in my bedroom at night or in a crate, if that is what you prefer.
About: I grew up with a pair of golden retrievers and currently have two Puli and one Old English Sheepdog pup (he is big boy). I am patient, loving and affectionate towards all dogs. I will make your dog feel cared for while giving them the highest standard of care and attention. I work from home mostly and have the flexibility to spend time with dogs. Just like your pup, It's good for me to take breaks and get outside too. We will have a fence in the next few months and will have a beautiful backyard for dogs to run. We have a large home with lots of windows and light and would love to host other furry guests.

About: Animals have had my heart my whole life! I have had dog and cat fur babies, and I’ve been a sitter for dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and reptiles. My senior dog Gideon recently passed away, and it’s given me immense joy to help my neighbors with their dogs and fill my heart with some doggo love. I adopted my dog when he was being re-homed at the age of four because he was too much work for his previous family. He came to me with trauma-influenced behaviors and extreme anxiety, and we worked together every day to support each other and grow over time. He was able to have such a happy life and I miss him every day! I’d love to share some of my love with your pet! I am currently working from home and able to be very present for the pets in my home! I have plenty of time for walks, playing, giving attention, and down time. I live in a two story townhome with a fenced-in patio and non-fenced yard. I live in a friendly and safe community for taking walks or playing together outside. I have a friendly cat, but I am able to keep the cat in a separate space if needed.
About: Caring for cats and dogs is second nature to me. Every animal is unique, and learning each pet's habits and personalities is both interesting and rewarding. I have lived in Raleigh most of my life and I am familiar with the local animal hospitals and shelters. I am close friends with several veterinarians, and I am also certified in CPR as a RECOVER Pet Rescuer. I am available most days with very short notice, and any day with a week's notice. I stain and repair decks during the warmer months, but the schedule is very flexible. I am available morning, noon or night. Animal care is dependent on the pet. I would follow the owner's instructions and rely on my extensive knowledge of cats and dogs to provide the best care possible.
About: I have been caring of furry family members since 2006. I owned and operated a very successful pet sitting company for 12 years and prior to that was a police officer and detective for 13 years. Since having children I have devoted my spare time to fostering dachshunds and providing quality pet sitting and dog walking services to many pet owners in and around Raleigh and Wake Forest. My family consists of 2 young human kiddos, 2 senior dachshunds - Maggie and Julie and two queen-bee cats named Autumn and Lucy. I’ve been a dachshund mom for 23 years and work closely and foster with Doxie by Proxy Rescue. My last 2 rescues were brought into our family at the ages of 12 and 13. I have experience with almost all breeds and ages of dogs and cats. I’m 49 and very responsible and trustworthy. I will care for your pets as if they are my own.... guaranteed! My schedule is fairly flexible as I stay at home with my 2 kids ages 7 and 9. Depending on the time of year (summer breaks and track outs may change my availability just slightly). Weekends and holiday are always open! I am very aware of a client’s home and what is expected as far as safety and trust. Being a former police officer, I am a trustworthy option. I strive to stick close to a client’s schedule and routine when it comes to the pet’s feedings, walks, potty times, and play. Most of my day is open to care for pets and provide dog walks! I so enjoy staying busy and spending my days with furry friends. I always try to stick closely to your pet’s schedule including walk/potty times and feeding. I am an early riser so morning visits are no problem!

“My dog had a great time socializing with other dogs and exploring the great outdoor area. He came home completely tuckered each day and didn't want to leave. We will definitely be back!”

About: I grew up in a pet friendly home with dogs, cats, and a horse. A pet parent to cat and 2 Pomeranians. We all go for regular walks. I have a grand puppy and a full figured grand kitty that come to visit. I love to take my Pomeranians for a ride in a dog basket on my bicycle when the weather is nice. Of course, everyone likes a good game of ball in the back yard. My friends and family say that after they die they want to come as my dog. I treat my pets like they are my 4 legged kids. If you are looking for someone who will love and treat your pet like you would, than I am your girl.
“Teddy had a great time at Melissa’s! He came home very tired and she sent lots of videos and pix of Teddy running around with her dogs in the fenced in backyard. I would definitely take Teddy back to them in the future.”

“Lauren was amazing! So accommodating for my crazy work schedule. Her pup and my pup played so well. She was very communicative and made sure Koa had a great time while at her place! I've already booked Koa for her second stay, and would totally book again :)”

“Brandi and John were exceedingly accommodating and helpful! I needed last-minute daycare and I am so grateful. My dog was happy when I picked him up and they sent me pictures throughout the day. I highly recommend them!”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Falls commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
