“So thankful to have had Monica watch my dog for a weekend. Was able to work with me on short notice, very responsive, and provided plenty of pictures and updates during the visit. Will definitely book again! 😊”

“We’ve used Bri a few times now and she has been wonderful. She is very reliable, communicative and detailed. Our pups do so well with her and I can leave the house feeling at ease that they are in great hands. So happy we found her!”

“Nicole has watch our senior dogs twice, and I’m looking forward to the next time. She also noticed the heat was stressing out some of my plants and she watered them without me asking. Which was much appreciated!”
“Dawn was absolutely wonderful. She stayed at my house with my two dogs and cat and took amazing care of them. She sent videos and pictures of each of them throughout the day, was able to give all the medications, and took amazing care of my home. It was great to be able to just relax on my trip and not have to worry about my fur babies and home.”

“Carol’s son stayed at our house and took great care of our dog, left the house clean, and provided frequent updates. We would work with them again and would recommend Carol and/or her family to others!”

“Lindsay was an absolute delight! It seems like my dogs LOVED her. I received pictures and even videos everyday. She kept me well informed with everything and she even took everything in stride being I had a battery go dead in smoke detector while I was gone and started going off. Also, my area apparently lost power while I was gone as well. I will definitely bring using her again. I even think my dogs miss her.”

“We’ve used Elizabeth for multiple dog walk drop ins and for staying at our house for an extended weekend to watch our 10 year old lab. We highly recommend Elizabeth. She is super nice, professional and personable, and takes amazing care of our pup. You can tell from the pictures that Carter loves Elizabeth and is at ease with her. We feel very comfortable having Elizabeth at our house and feel good that Carter feels comfortable as well and has a fun time! Elizabeth is also very communicative and keeps us up to date with Carter!”

“Barrett was great. We normally board our dogs, so we were a little nervous at first doing something different, but Barrett put our nerves at ease. He went above and beyond and spoiled our dogs while we were gone. They were well taken care of. We highly recommend him.”

“Rachel is the best. I’m a worrier. My dogs are my fur babies. I felt complete confidence in Rachel within minutes of meeting her. Came home after being gone for three nights to happy well cared for fur babies and she took good care of our home. I can tell from the notes she texted and left in the house that she truly got to know my dogs personality and my dogs behavior upon my arrival clearly showed that they enjoyed themselves while we were away. Rachel is wonderful!”

“Kelsey was very good sitter, she took care of Oreo really well in our absence. She kept sending us updates and pictures. Our main requirement was not to leave Oreo alone for long periods, Kelsey made sure about it. Oreo was happy when we returned home. We would rebook her again. Thanks Kelsey. Because of you our trip went smooth”

“Awesome caregiver to my two fur babies! So happy to have secured Jaiden to spend three days with Sophie and Penny. Her attention to their needs, time spent with them, and respect for my home are welcomed attributes from her. Enjoy reaching out to her and having her take care of your four-legged children.”

About: I have experience caring for both children and pets in different situations that require responsibility and attention. I have cared for two babies for the family I lived with while their mother was on vacation and also during a post-operative recovery period. I have also provided pet care for the family I currently work with, including full weeks and weekends. My responsibilities included feeding in the morning, bathroom breaks throughout the day, and ensuring they were well cared for and comfortable, Also the pets of my friends I always try to take them for a moderate walk whenever I'm with them. I make sure they have fresh water at all times, and I let them lie in bed with me or sit on the couch where the caregivers do the same. My weekly routine is structured and consistent, which allows me to provide reliable care. I work Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and after that I am at home and available. I will soon begin online classes, so I will continue to be home and present during the week. On Fridays, I work from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and I am free afterward. During weekends, I usually stay at home, organize my week, clean, and relax by watching movies or playing video games. I also go to the gym in the mornings and I enjoy long walks whenever they are needed, especially for pets that require extra exercise and attention. For pet care, I currently have a baby bearded dragon that spends most of her time safely in her terrarium. For everyone’s safety, I will not take her out when caring for your pets to avoid any accidents. I do not currently have dogs or cats, as I prefer to maintain stability before adopting in the future. If your pets stay at my home, I have a safe area where they can go outside for bathroom breaks, and there are nearby parks for walks and exercise. If I care for your pets in your home, I will always respect your space, belongings, and household rules. I also work as a nanny and am extremely careful and responsible in my work. I have also cared for the family dogs I nanny for, and I truly adore animals and enjoy spending time with them.
About: I love to travel… but I hate leaving my pets behind. I’d love to ease the stress of travel by caring for your pets and sending photos of our adventures while you are on an adventure. I am happy to provide care for your beloved pet and I can even come during lunch breaks to care for your pet. Let me know how I can help! I love treating your pet like it’s my pet. That means being careful with safety and safety providing fun activities for your pet. Of course, an important part is sending you photos and keeping you updated.
“A++++! Perfect house and dog sitter for a long weekend. Great communicator! We always knew how things were going while we were out of the country. Went above and beyond to get comfortable with our dog and make our dog comfortable.”

“John was fantastic with our 3 fur babies over Easter weekend. He spent lots of time with them and sent plenty of pictures and videos with his updates. We normally just have someone do drop in visits when we go away for the weekend, but it was so much better to have John spend most of the day spoiling them.”

“Rhonie was awesome with my two dogs over a long weekend! She’s easy to communicate with, my dogs loved her, and they were tired out when I got back home. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone, and hope she can watch my dogs again in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wake Forest
Kylie is wonderful! My whole gang absolutely adored her. 😊 It was such a relief knowing they were happy and well cared for while I was away. I came home to a house that was in great shape and, most importantly, a very content crew. Kylie made being away so much easier, and I wouldn’t hesitate to have her stay with them again. I’m so glad we found her!
Lindsay was an absolute delight! I even think my dogs miss her.
Monica was great! She was very communicative through the whole process. She arrived right on time for the meet and greet, and didn’t miss a thing. While we were gone, she sent pictures and updates on our pets, and took great care of them. Our young lab mix is high energy, and our old siamese requires special medical care. She did great balancing all of them and our home was also well cared for in our absence. We definitely recommend Monica to care for your pets.

Kamryn took such amazing care of our two girls while we were gone. We have two German shepherds and one is still a puppy who needs a lot of attention and can get into mischief, but there were no issues. She sent pictures, kept us updated, and the girls were happy and healthy! Our girls are our world, and it was a relief knowing they were in good hands while we were gone. Thank you again Kam!

Sylvia did an incredible job caring for our fur babies! They were obviously well-cared for during our time away. She kept us informed about how they were doing and sent photos. We had some unexpected issues with our cable while we were gone, and she arranged to have it serviced so it would be working upon our return. If your babies need attention, love and care during your absence, we recommend Sylvia!

Kim is a great sitter. She jumped in to cover for someone and was very independent and efficient. Communication was a breeze and most importantly, my 3 furry faces were super happy with her care. We would love to have her again and could not recommend her more to anyone seeking peace of mind. Thank you!
Ellie, Lucy, and Wiggie were very well cared for! We received updates and photos to keep us well informed and to show us the girls were happy. The house was clean when we got home and fresh sheets were already on the bed! That makes a big difference to me that I don’t have to come home and immediately start working! Brandi and John were a bit more expensive than some other sitters, charging for each pet! But peace of mind that your babies are being taken care of, is well worth it!! Thank you so much!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wake Forest walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wake Forest maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wake Forest choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
