“Thank you Chelsea for another great stay with Olive! We feel so much better being away with someone we can trust taking care of her (and giving her all the snuggles :)) and we loved getting photos and updates throughout the weekend as well.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend Viktoriia! Viktoriia did an amazing job caring for my home and animals. She kept everything clean, communicated clearly, and treated my pets with real attention and kindness—not just basic care. It gave me total peace of mind knowing everything was in good hands. I’ll absolutely be using her again and would confidently recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable and trustworthy.”
“Christine always takes the best care of our pups and is conscientious to make sure all the details are covered. We don’t worry at all when she is sitting with our dogs!!!”

“Ray was great with Lola! His communication with me was significant. From beginning to end of care days, Ray was available to answer any of my questions and he shared an appreciable amount of photos of my pup with me! I know that he provided wonderful care as my dog is usually anxious when we leave and needs some extra encouragement/additives to eat her kibble. But, with Ray as her sitter, she had no issues eating daily. We returned to a happy, well fed doggy! Definitely will be rebooking if he’s available when the time comes for us to need a sitter again!”

“Kayla was incredible! Our poor pup got skunked and she went above and beyond giving baths and cleaning and washing laundry. Communicative and kind. We appreciate you!”

“Saunie was wonderful. She was very communicative, attentive, and very sweet to our Maltese, Remy. She was perfect and punctual, and took the VERY BEST photos of our dog. I might even have to frame a few! I would definitely recommend Saunie and look forward to having her watch Remy again. Thank you!”

About: We have both been around dogs our entire lives. Since both of us have graduated, we have much more time to dedicate to taking care of others dogs until we are able to get one for ourselves. We both worked with training our dogs at home and are both experts and spoiling dogs with affection. We also have lots of experience caring for dogs with separation anxiety and traumatisms. We have loved boarding on Rover, we are counting down the days until we can afford our own doggo, and we cannot wait to give your pup their own vacation! ***Ziggy changed their name from Ella several years ago and wasn’t able to update it on rover, if you get confused reading the reviews, Ziggy is the same person as Ella Eli works a couple part time jobs with wonky hours and I (Ella) work a couple gigs from home. We are rarely both gone, only to run errands or go see a show, so the doggies won’t be alone very long! I love having pups around to get me out of the house and walking during the day We have a very cozy home that we love very much. There's lots of sunshine for post play time naps and plenty of space for them to be comfortable while we work at home.
“Jazmyne was awesome! Good communication, easy going and felt great leaving our kitty and home in her care for a whole week! She sent some pics and left our home immaculate which was above and beyond. Would absolutely book with her again!”

“Jaxon was an outstanding house/pet sitter. He followed instructions exactly and I think the dogs miss him. He left the house clean and tidy and we will definitely be using his services again in the future.”

“Brooke was great with my dog, Rafa! She met Rafa for the meet & greet a few days before the stay and I could tell she was going to be perfect! She sent photos during my time away and kept me updated on how everything was going. I would definitely recommend Brooke.”

“Jenny did a great job watching our little man Rudy! Was responsive, sent plenty of updates, and left our apartment in great condition after her stay. Would love to have her watch Rudy again!”

“Tiffany did great with my dog Cali while I was away this week! She gave her plenty of exercise which as a 3 year old lab, Cali still needs. I’m totally comfortable leaving Cali with her any time!”

“Thank you for taking care of my babies they look so happy. I appreciate your videos of them. I would definitely book with you again it had been a great experience”

“Stephany did a great job watching our dog, Laila, while we traveled home for the holidays. We just moved here so it was important to us to have someone stay with her while she was still adjusting to the new apartment. Stephany was very responsive, flexible, and communicative when caring for Laila. Stephany followed our care instructions and sent us plenty of updates and photos throughout her sitting. It was just what we needed to so we wouldn’t have to worry and we could enjoy our time with our family!”

“We had Sara come over to our vacation rental to watch our two fur babies while mom and dad got a break riding the train! Sara was flexible and accommodating to our plans. She arrived early and the pups took a liking to her immediately letting us know she really is a "dog" person. The pups usually stay home with our local sitter but due to the craziness of the times we wanted them with us. This is our first time using Rover and it was a great experience. I would recommend Sara for anyone local or those like us just spending a few days in the Durango area. Too bad Sara is several states away from us, I would definitely hire her again!”
“Alexus was AMAZING with our girl Bea, and she went above and beyond in the house too - felt no anxiety leaving Bea, and Bea adored Alexus. She sent great pics and kept us updated throughout our trip. will definitely be using her again:)”

“I left Ahsoka with Siara and her two adorable pups over a vacation weekend and couldn't be happier with the service she provided. Siara updated me every step of the way and was informative for what Ahsoka got up to on a daily basis (her food schedule and play time etc). She provided photos which eased my concerns of leaving her with someone for the first time immediately when I saw how much fun she was having. I will 100% go to Siara again when I leave town.”

“Raquel & Nick took such amazing care of our two doggies while we went on an overnight trip. They sent updates and photos of them all smiles & receiving scratches :) We will definitely be seeing y’all again! THANK YOU!”

“Lauren was absolutely wonderful! Went above and beyond to make sure my kitties were well taken care of. They can be skittish but clearly loved her from all the fun and cute photos we received! Would highly recommend to take great care of your pets”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Aurora
Kathleen is wonderful! She is so caring and gives each of our three pets the individual attention they need. She had some great tips for some challenges we were having with our dogs after spending the week with them and had no trouble giving our sassy cat medicine. This is the third time she’s stayed at our house to care for them and we are so glad we found her!

Taylor watched Pippin and Arya for me again, and just like the first time, he did a great job! He's reliable, attentive, and clearly comfortable with both dogs, which made it easy to relax while I was away. Great communication throughout, and the dogs were happy and well cared for.

Caitlyn was absolutely fantastic with our two Golden Retrievers! She kept us updated with messages and photos, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. One of our Goldens ended up needing some unexpected, last-minute special care, and Caitlyn handled everything without hesitation. She was attentive, compassionate, and communicated with us every step of the way, making what could have been a stressful situation much easier. We came home to two happy, well-cared-for pups, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We highly recommend Caitlyn to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable dog sitter. We’ll definitely be booking with her again!

Sarah is amazing! She takes such good care of all our pets, big and small. She keeps our house just like we're there. She communicates frequently and keeps us appraised of all the happenings. We love her, our pets love her, and we are so happy to have found her!

This was my first time using rover for my dog and Stephany was so wonderful! She administered medication for my ten year old dog and took such good care of her and our home. She provided updates and pictures which we loved!! We will definitely be using these services in the future!

Tamara was very easy to work with. My trip was a bit last minute but we were able to schedule a meet and greet soon after confirming the stay. She stayed in my home with my dog and was very respectful of my space. I was thankful to come home to a clean house, she really went above and beyond there. My dog is aggressive with other dogs, this is always my worry when leaving him alone with a new person but Tamara assured me she understood and I am thankful that there were no issues with that. Tamara was sure to do daily check ins and send photos, she was quick to respond before and during the stay as well. I would for sure work with Tamara again.

Shelia is always absolutely wonderful to have watch the pets and house sit. She takes such great care of Rosie and Murphy, they absolutely love all the attention she gives them. It is so nice knowing someone is caring for them so well at home and we don’t have to send them somewhere out of their comfort zone to be boarded. We feel so lucky to have found Shelia!!

Garrett watched my dog, Cooper, on short notice as I headed out of town for an extended weekend. He showed up to the meet and greet that I had to schedule only mere hours before catching my flight, got along well with Coop, and took great care of him throughout the stay. I received pictures and updates at a regular cadence, and Cooper was acting his happy self upon my return. He enjoyed his time spent with Garrett! My home was also left in great shape! I would definitely have Garrett sit in my space with Cooper again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Aurora walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Aurora maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Aurora choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Aurora. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
