“Náutica did a great job keeping me updated and left the house in immaculate condition. It’s obvious how much she loves dogs! I would definitely recommend her.”

“Kristen was great and kept us updated especially cause we have a younger dog who is still learning and gets some anxiety. She was very nice and helpful. Thank you again!”

“Mackenzie was fantastic! Super communicative and flexible, plus left our house spotless. You can tell she loves dogs like they are her own. Will definitely book again. Thank you!!”

“Noelle was the best! I’d had a previous bad experience with Rover a few years ago, so was hesitant to try again. After meeting Noelle, she gave me faith that there were still good people in the world who love dogs and work for Rover. Noelle was obviously experienced with dogs and got down on the floor to meet Bear. She stayed with him for several hours on 4 different occasions, took him for walks and was great company for him. Noelle is sweet and personable and I’d highly recommend her as a dog sitter. We appreciated her so much!”

“This was our first time using Rover, and we feel lucky to have found Stephany! She sent us thorough daily updates and photos of our boy living his best dog life. This gave us peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy our trip. Stephany was also respectful of our home and left it as she found it. We highly recommend Stephany and will definitely book with her again!”

“Danielle took great care of our boys and apartment while we were away. She gave us daily updates and adapted quickly to the nuances of our dog and cat. We would be happy to have Danielle back over in the future!”

“Chris took wonderful care of our sweet pup while we were away. He was communicative, responsive, and reliable. We were able to relax on our vacation knowing our dog was in great hands! We would highly recommend Chris.”

“Lauryn was amazing! She watched my pup at my house for 5 days and I came back to a very well-behaved, calm, non-barking dog. She spent lots of time playing with my dog, and sent me photos, too!”

“Vivien was great with our pup while we were at a wedding. Our dogs isn't the easiest and Vivien took great care of her, went on walks and sent lots of photos. I know our dog is looking forward to seeing her again soon and I am so glad we found someone that let's us leave home without worrying!”

About: I personally have 3 pets (one dog and two cats) and I absolutely love animals. I want more but that probably wouldn’t be so great for my bank account. I pet sit all the time for friends and family and love to do it. I used to be very active on Rover, and took a break for a while while I was in college, but I’m back and so excited to meet you and your fur baby! I am currently a sophomore in college but the semester is over until mid January so I have a lot of free time and thought this would be a fun way to make some extra money. I personally have a 6 year old golden retriever, Aspen. I’ve raised her since she was 8 weeks old, she is the rock in my life. She is a very docile and calm dog, and is well socialized with other animals. I live in an apartment so I take her on walks and to the dog park a few times a day. I mores recently adopted 2 cats as well, Ginger (orange tabby) and Rex (tuxedo cat). They are best friends and watching them play with a laser is one of my favorite forms of entertainment. They have been around other dogs and cats as well and are very nice to strangers. I also have experience with reptiles, fish, small mammals (hamsters, mice, bunnies, etc) I used to have a bearded dragon and bunnies when I was younger so I more or less am familiar with their diet/ environment.
“Lara did an exceptional job of caring for our kitty, Finn. Making sure someone was with him when schedule changes came up, and working with us when we had a travel emergency as well. She is kind, caring, responsive and responsible. Highly recommend!”

“Hadia was so great with our pups! She was so sweet and communicative and I felt so comfortable leaving our boys with her over the long weekend. We got lots of update pictures and came home to a clean house and happy dogs! Would definitely book with Hadia again!”

“Nathan was fantastic with my dog. My dog can be reactive with other dogs and I'm particular about his care/environment, but I could tell Nathan went above and beyond familiarizing himself with my dogs needs and set up. They seemed to have bonded and my dog got new experiences and adventures! He left my home clean and was considerate in all interactions. I'm glad to have found Nathan for my dog and will book again.”

“Nadia was great with our dog Charlie! She was able to help us out on short notice, which we were so grateful for. And while we were gone, she was an excellent communicator, sharing photos of what she and Charlie were up to multiple times a day. We would definitely work with her again!”

“So glad that Carissa was available to watch my babies for a long weekend! She was great with updates and pictures and I felt really good knowing she was there with them. She took wonderful care of my babies and my home, leaving my place so clean and nice. She’s a gem and I will absolutely use her again! Thank you Carissa! 🙏”

“Michael was an amazing house sitter for our Great Dane, Ora. It was really easy to communicate with him and organize the meet and greet and sitting. He’s prompt and responsive in the app! Ora can be particular but she warmed up to him just fine! He handled giving her medicine, took her on plenty of walks, and gave great updates throughout our trip. It was reassuring to know we left our dog with someone responsible and thorough. He even went above and beyond and tidied up our apartment before leaving. I can highly recommend Michael for your pet sitting needs!”

“Sara and Erin did a fantastic job taking care of my two dogs and my chickens for the week! They were diligent, communicative and left the house spotless. Thank you!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Glendale
Mackenzie watched our Bernedoodles for 12 days while we were out of the country and took wonderful care of our home and our dogs. She read our instructions thoroughly and provided great updates. We slept well knowing she was holding down the fort and can’t wait to have her back again!

What an absolute rockstar. Katy took care of my energetic 4 year old pup for 4 days and went above and beyond. She went home from work to check on her at lunch, kept me updated on food and walk schedules and sent lots of pictures. So grateful to her for taking such good care of and loving my pup like her own family!

Maddi saved us after another sitter cancelled at the last minute without explanation. We were so grateful for her flexibility and responsiveness, and she took great care of our dog (who can be a bit difficult) and cat (who was stressed from recently losing her brother). She is wonderful!
Brookelyn took great care of our dog in our home for a week vacation. He is generally on the anxious side but seemed really content when we got home and she was a very respectful house guest. She also kept in great touch with me daily about how he was doing. We would definitely have her watch him again and are grateful for her care!

Ghost was a challenge due to his fecal incontinence and Blake rose to the occasion. He kept him happy and calm. Peaches even buttered up to him almost right away! Thank you Blake for how well you cared for our animals and the house. All the outdoor plants survived and the trash and recyclables even went out! We will be inviting you back if you’re willing. Hopefully Ghost will be in a better place next time.

Megan was by far the best sitter we have ever had. She handled our two high maintenance pups and their reactivity so well & we couldn’t be more thankful. She left the house so clean and gave us plenty of updates throughout. We will absolutely be hiring Megan again!

Lauryn was wonderful with my 2 kitties. One of my kitties just joined our family, and the two cats have not been getting along well. Lauryn handled the situation beautifully by spending time playing with them and helping them get to know each other better. Thank you, Lauryn!

Alex was great. He came to meet us before he stayed with our Dog Roscoe. Roscoe loved him right away. Alex listen to all my requests with patience and understanding. He kept me updated and asked questions to make sure everything was done right. Will use Alex again for sure.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Glendale on Rover is $53.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 8,829 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Glendale. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Glendale walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Glendale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Glendale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
