“Yeili is wonderful! She’s very communicative, left my home clean, and takes such good care of my cats while I’m away! I would definitely recommend Yeili if you are looking for someone who is reliable and loves your pets like you do!”

“Lauryn is the best! She is so conscientious and wonderful with our pets! She also takes incredibly care of our home, and has excellent communication. Our minds are at ease knowing Lauryn is taking great care of all the things! Thank you, Lauryn!”

“Michael was great and was very helpful in securing a short-notice sitter. He was flexible and able to adapt to my larger pack. Very communicative and was able to accommodate their various needs. I would recommend Michael to anyone looking for a sitter who may have a less typical pet situation.”

“Jenny was wonderful! She looked after my dog, Boo, for a few days while I was out of town for work. I found it so easy to relax and trust Jenny to look after Boo. I've had a couple of not great experiences on Rover in the past, so this was a huge relief! From the very beginning she was incredibly communicative and sent me lots of updates throughout her stay. When I got back, Boo was very calm and clearly had a nice time with Jenny. She also took great care of the house while she was staying here. It was such a wonderful experience, we will definitely book again with Jenny in the future!”

“Madison was a wonderful sitter that gave us peace of mind being out of town for our wedding weekend! She sent beautiful pictures of the pets with regular updates, and we came home to a very clean house. She’s very safety conscious which we so appreciated and our 3 pets seemed to love her and that says it all!! Would recommend her to anyone!”

“Mandy was available last minute to stay at my house for a few days and take care of my cat Willow. She was super flexible and very communicative. I could tell from the pics she sent that Willow (who is not the most affectionate cat) really warmed up to her! She also took great care of my place. Would definitely book her again!”

About: I have been caring for animals for as long as I can remember. Though I grew up with cats, I spent time with and caring for neighborhood dogs and my friends’ dogs as I got older. I now have one of each, a dog named Atlas and a cat named Sancho. I am also well experienced in training my own personal dog and am open to working with puppies. I am also comfortable giving oral medication. I am very active and would be happy to walk or run your dog. Young or old, energy or slow, I would love to spend time with them. I am reliable and communicative and love every pet I meet! I’m currently working full time Tuesday - Thursday and am available half days on Monday, Friday, the weekends! Usually I do walks and play time in the morning and night, and incorporate other activities as relevant to your pet throughout the day. It’s important to me to take care of your pet the way that feels best to you! I am non judge mental and know you know what’s best for your pets! I always communicate effectively to make sure I am understanding how best to support you and your pets!
“I would definitely use Nikole again. She responded quickly and took great care of our pets. We got updates and pictures regularly and came home to a clean house with 2 happy dogs.”

“Allison was phenomenal! She was quick to respond and my boys absolutely loved her. She gave morning and evening picture as updates and it looked like the boys were smiling in each one. I highly recommend her!”

“Jared was trustworthy, responsive, and took great care of our pup. Our dog has a bit of separation anxiety but was immediately calm around Jared. He took great care of our house as well and we’d gladly rebook with him. Thank you again Jared!”

“My dogs adore Danielle, and while they have stayed at her house numerous times, this time she stayed at our house while I was on a business trip. Everything went perfectly and she was completely trustworthy. We'll be using her again soon!”

“Emily was amazing! She made us feel comfortable by providing references before our meet and greet, and was willing to learn how to give our dog daily insulin injections with no prior training. She sent us pics and kept us updated the whole time, and when we missed our flight she was flexible and stayed for two additional nights! Would highly recommend her!”

“Kathleen is always super reliable, on time and in control. Our crazy little dogs really seem to live her and we’ve had her stay in our house a number of times over the last few years.”

About: I had 2 of my own dogs in my 20s and a cat in my 30s. I was also a professional Rover sitter for 3 1/2 years before taking a break for a couple of years. Now I'm back and ready to share some love again. I currently do not have any pets of my own. Gardening is my main occupation. I sometime have projects that will max out at an 8 hour day. If your pet cannot go that long without a visit and I have enough notice, I can make sure to schedule those longer days before or after my scheduled sit with your pets. I have plenty of time in my schedule to care for doggos and kitty cats. I have house sat before in client's homes and very quick to learn house rules and ways of operation to adequately care for your pet(s) in the way they are accustomed to.
“From the beginning there was such a good communication with Zapora, she and Fiona got along very well and very quickly, she took good care of our baby Fiona when she needed it the most, we are super grateful for all the walks and patience.”

“We had to go out of town and decided to use Rover for house sitting with our two dogs. We were a little nervous because we never had a stranger spend time in our house for multiple consecutive days and nights. Lili came to our house before we left, met the dogs and instilled confidence in us which helped us not worry at all! She was so wonderful with them; she took them on regular walks, played games with them and took care of our house so well. I am sure that both Simon and Pearl already miss her! They are both a little nervous and she very quickly made them feel comfortable and loved. We will definitely work with Lili again! Her knowledge of dog behaviors and her love of animals was so apparent, we are so grateful for her!”

“Rachel watched Finley for 5 nights while we were out of town. She took great care of him and it was very clear he bonded with her. We will definitely use Rachel for future needs!”

Excellent pet sitter! Amy watched both my cat & cavalier puppy for 2 weeks while I was traveling out of the country. She was always providing daily updates on both pets, extremely courteous, and was very mindful of the house and pet guide. 10-stars! I highly recommend Amy for your pet needs, and will definitely reach out to her again for pet services.

Chris was super communicative and took SUCH good care of our German shepherd. He even took her to the dog pool we have a punch pass to 🥹 We are so grateful for the peace of mind it brought us while out of town for 2 weeks, and will definitely use Chris again.

Maxene is AMAZING!! From the meet n greet to the pictures and updates of Koda throughout her 3-night stay was incredible! My dog was super comfortable with her and I felt very comfortable having her in my home and taking care of my pup! She left the place very clean and organized, and even moved our trash can back from the alleyway after trash pick up day. Super trustworthy and easy to communicate with - will definitely be using her again when we Koda needs a pet sitter!!

Nick did an excellent job watching Finn and Henry this past weekend. His communication was outstanding—he sent pictures and kept us informed throughout the stay. Finn's been having a tougher week, and Nick really went the extra mile, keeping a close eye on him and making sure he was doing okay. Highly recommend.

Nay watched my reactive dog and 3 cats for a week when my regular sitter wasn’t available. I’m very anxious about leaving my pets with new people. In the days leading up to Nay’s stay, we had a few incidents that made me more worried including a couple last minute vet visits. Nay was adaptable and put my mind at ease with daily updates and a chill demeanor that all my pets took to, including my more shy cat. Everyone is happy and healthy! Nay was considerate in our home and it was in great condition when we got back. I would definitely ask Nay to return and would recommend them to anyone!

Morgan was amazing with my dog! I appreciated that she took notes of Evie’s routine and tried to maintain as much normalcy for her while we were away. She maintained great communication and sent me lots of pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind. Will absolutely book Morgan again for sitting!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Edgewater walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Edgewater maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Edgewater choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
