“Maggie took excellent care of our pup while we were gone and was super communicative!! We really appreciated how caring she was and we felt relaxed knowing our dog and home were in good hands - I highly recommend her!”

“Kristen is wonderful! I recently moved into a new place and was worried about my dogs’ anxiety levels. Kristen gave them great attention and care, and I came home to two relaxed, happy pups”

“I highly recommend Mandy for your house sitting and pet sitting needs. She provided daily updates and kept our home very clean! I will be reaching out to Mandy anytime I need a sitter for my pups!”

“Brae did a great job with our animals and our house! We moved in a week before our trip. She dealt with a broken A/C for a few days and brought her own fans to help keep the house as cool as possible, she broke down extra boxes and put them in our recycling bin before we got home, she sent pictures daily, and left our house very clean before she left. I’ve already booked her again =)”

“Dominic was fantastic. Very communicative and responsible. Not only did he do a great job taking care of our pup, our house looked great! It was such a relief to have someone like him while we were gone. We will definitely be booking him again.”

About: I was the primary caregiver to my childhood dog (who I considered my best friend) growing up from age 5 to age 20. I've been the primary babysitter including overnight stays for my sister's German shepherd since he was a puppy until now well into adulthood. My husband is allergic so I'm not able to own my own animals despite how much I LOVE them, so I'm looking to get my animal fix by helping other people take care of their animals during the day when they're busy and at work 🥰 I've found myself with a lot of free time during weekdays and would love to use that time to help people take care of their pets and take them on walks, while also getting more quality time myself with cute animals!! I am a responsible and experienced dog walker who would be happy to walk your dogs around their own neighborhood where they're comfortable, or bring them somewhere new near my dog friendly neighborhood in olde town Arvada!
“Lauren was amazing! The dogs loved her and she kept me in the loop with updates and pictures throughout the day. Will absolutely ask Lauren to sit for the dogs again.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats for nearly 30 years, including pets with special needs. My last dog, Homer, had epilepsy and lived to 10, and I currently have a 9-year-old dog named Gordo. I have experience with administering medication, supporting senior pets, and managing safe environments for all energy levels. Neighbors, friends, and family have trusted me for decades to walk, feed, bathe, and watch their pets, both in my home and theirs. I’ve also provided cat sitting, home sitting, and consistent support for pets who need extra attention. My schedule is very flexible at the moment, and I work from home, which allows me to adjust to the needs of each pet and their routine. I’m available on weekends and most weekdays, and can provide daytime care, evening check-ins, or extended stays depending on what works best for you and your pet. Because I work from home, pets are rarely left alone and get plenty of attention throughout the day. I have a fenced yard and two friendly dogs to keep your pet company, but I can also provide quiet spaces if your pet prefers more independence. I can easily crate your dog if needed and will always follow your care instructions closely. My focus is on creating a safe, calm environment where pets feel comfortable and cared for.
“Joshua was great! Super communicative, flexible, and sent lots of photos. He asked great questions at the meet and greet and our dogs were happy to be able to stay at home with someone they were obviously comfortable with. We would absolutely have Joshua watch our dogs again!”

“Took great care of my animals and home. Lots of updates throughout the day. Made my vacation stress-free and I returned home to framed photos of my pets. Appreciated the extra effort! Great sitter.”

“Alicia is excellent! Watched our dogs over a weekend for us and took them on multiple walks, played with them in our backyard, brushed them, and sent plenty of update of pictures so we could see how much fun they were having with her. We would love to have her watch our pups again the next time we are out of town!”

“Ashely took great care of Aggie and our house. She went above and beyond and was a great communicator. We came home to a clean house and very happy pup, we are so appreciative!”

“Nice is amazing. Our sweet Jax seemed so comfortable with her, which put us at ease given his age and the fact that we were so far away from home. She sent a bunch of pictures and updates; we never worried once, which was so comforting. Nice treated our home and our dog as if they were hers. Next time we plan a vacation, we’re definitely contacting Nice!”

About: I have had all kinds of animals from birds, lizards, guinea pig, fish, cats, dogs and rabbits, your pet is more then a pet they are family and here we treat them like family with love and care. At this time I have lots of time to give your family members the time and attention required to help them feel happy and thrive. When they stay with me they are more then just your pet they are someone’s family member and deserve all the attention and protection as if they are at home. I am very cautious when taking dogs out and on walks.
“We had Tess house sit for our two pups twice now, and she has done a great job. We worry about our pups a ton while we are away, so the peace of mind that Tess provides goes a long way for us. We will definitely continue to book with Tess!”

“Maribel was incredibly attentive and communicative! Our pup is leash reactive on walks, and we felt completely secure leaving her with him. We would absolutely use Maribel again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Arvada
We had such a wonderful experience with Michelle! She took incredible care of our puppy, Mochi, as well as our two cats, Mia and Samurai. She was kind, attentive, communicative, and incredibly detail oriented from the very beginning. She even arrived at our meet and greet with a notebook to take detailed notes about each of our animals and their care routines, which immediately made us feel confident that they would be in great hands. Throughout the booking, she kept us updated and sent photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that Mochi, Mia, and Samurai were all happy, comfortable, and very well cared for. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and will absolutely book with her again. We feel so lucky to have found someone we can trust with all three of our pets. Highly recommend!

Maxene is AMAZING!! From the meet n greet to the pictures and updates of Koda throughout her 3-night stay was incredible! My dog was super comfortable with her and I felt very comfortable having her in my home and taking care of my pup! She left the place very clean and organized, and even moved our trash can back from the alleyway after trash pick up day. Super trustworthy and easy to communicate with - will definitely be using her again when we Koda needs a pet sitter!!

Heather was great! We have theoretically “easy” pets but they are quirky. We were away for our wedding so not super reachable but Heather was great and sent many updates. I was never worried about them while we were away. Appreciate Heather so much and will definitely be working with her again!

Taya was one of the best house sitters we have used! We were out of town for 5 nights and she kept great care of our large dog. Her communication is her shining highlight. We knew exactly how our dog was doing each day with detailed updates and the best pictures we have ever received! She picked up on our dog’s quirks, behaviors, and weird communication style very quickly and made us feel at ease for the entire trip.

Morgan was amazing with my dog! I appreciated that she took notes of Evie’s routine and tried to maintain as much normalcy for her while we were away. She maintained great communication and sent me lots of pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind. Will absolutely book Morgan again for sitting!

As of August 2026, there are 8,899 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Arvada. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Arvada walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Arvada maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Arvada choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
