“Kristen was perfect! She stayed with my dog, and his temperament was so much better when I returned vs leaving him with friends, or having a neighbor kid come over for an hour or two a day. Do not hesitate to book Kristen for your next pet sitting needs!”

“William was amazing with all our animals, two of which are high energy GSP's. Even our wiener dog that takes forever to warm up to people, was barking at him to get more pets and attention even with us back! He was extremely respectful of our home and it was actually cleaner than when we left. We would highly recommend William and will definitely be using him again!!”

“Lilou was great! From our initial meet and greet and making sure she was comfortable staying at our apartment , to a second visit where we walked the dogs and showed her around the neighborhood so she was sure how to get in and out of our building. We felt very comfortable and confident with her taking care of our boys since she has dogs of her own and lots of experience sitting other dogs. She sent us updates and pictures which we appreciated very much. She had no issues with our dogs which was great. I would highly recommend her to anyone and would love to have her again in the future. Thanks Lilou!”

“Tanya was very communicative and sent fun updates every day. She helped our picky Dachshund eat her food, got our nervous Aussie to have a good time, and made sure our cat was comfortable too. She also left the apartment very clean. The animals loved her and we felt safe with her as our sitter so have already booked her for another upcoming trip. Thanks Tanya!”

“Sasha was incredible! The perfect guest in our house, she kept all of the animals happy and comfortable. She sent me daily updates with funny pictures and videos. She left an immaculately clean home. 100% plan to use her for all my future pet care needs.”

About: I have 17+ years experience volunteering at Humane Colorado (formerly Denver Dumb Friends League). My specialty is walking fearful, high arousal, or strong puller dogs, and a dog that loves to take their time and enjoy nature is always a joy! I also foster dogs of all ages, from newborn puppies to senior dogs, and have fostered a variety of SMAMS over the years. I have 2+ years experience giving sub-Q fluids and injections, and 17 years experience giving medications to all animals. I will give your pup(s) the best care while you are away! I am a current Jeffco educator. I work M-F from 7am to 3 pm. I am open to visit, walk and stay with your pet M-F after 3pm, any time of the day Saturday, and most of the day on Sunday. I volunteer at the shelter on Sunday, so that would be the only time I would have a scheduled absence. I am open to taking them outside on leash, supervising them even if there is a fenced yard, kenneling them or letting them sleep near me if that is what they are used to.
About: As a lifelong dog owner, I’ve raised and cared for dogs at every stage. I trained my current dog and am comfortable with all ages and energy levels. I also have experience providing gentle, reliable care for cats. I am currently a college student on summer break, so I have a very flexible schedule and am available whenever you are in need of animal care! I have a friendly, well trained dog who loves to play and socialize, but I can easily crate or separate them if your pets need their own space. My home has a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time, and I also have an extra crate available if your pup is crate trained or if you’d like them to have their own comfortable space 🫶☺️
“Ashley took great care of our dogs - even when one wasn't feeling well. She brought in packages, sent adorable photos, and kept us posted every day. The bonus was coming home to a house even cleaner than we left it. We really appreciate her going above and beyond!!”

“You can’t find a better sitter. Stunning communication. Bazillion photo updates. Truly went above and beyond. Highly recommend Krista and I’ll definitely be requesting her again!”

“Nice was an awesome dog sitter for my pitbull! She was very responsive and kept me up to date with daily messages throughout the stay. I would highly recommend and use her again for future pup sitting! :)”

“Tess was fantastic. She was communicative, friendly, and clean throughout. She was amazing with both our cats and dog, and was even able to get our very very shy cat out and about eating and playing. We definitely recommend her, and will book again the next time we have a trip!”

“Hannah was absolutely amazing! She took such wonderful care of our pets and kept us updated while we were away, giving us complete peace of mind. We came home to happy, well-loved pets and couldn’t be more grateful. We highly recommend Hannah and will definitely book with her again!”

“Michael went above and beyond for our girl (who misses him already) during their time together. Michael took our golden, Finn, on multiple walks every day and played with her nonstop while we were away for over a week. He kept up her feeding schedule and made sure she got all the love the she demands. Michael is extremely communicative and sends great updates and pictures. During his stay he kept the house very nice and neat and left everything how he found it. I felt very comfortable knowing he was taking care of Finn and our home during our trip. I highly recommend Michael for any of your pet care needs and will be using him every chance I get in the future!”

“Sasha was prompt and professional. Proving regular updates, putting my worried mind to rest. It is never easy leaving your pups behind, but they were in good hands with Sasha.”

“Braelyn was so awesome. She clearly loves animals and took such good care of our house. Everything was clean, bedding was washed, and the dogs seemed so relaxed when we got back. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be booking again :)”

“Katy was absolutely lovely! She took amazing care of our Toto, sent us lots of pictures. She was helpful around the house, called our maintenance man when the A/C went out. We absolutely loved having her, and would 100% welcome her back anytime!”

Matthew did an amazing job! One of my dogs ended up with last minute medical needs and he stepped in and took great care of her! I came home to very happy dogs! I would hire him again in a heartbeat. His communication was clear and timely, and it is obvious that he is comfortable around pets and loves them!
Lilou was great! We felt very comfortable and confident with her taking care of our boys since she has dogs of her own and lots of experience sitting other dogs. Tanya did an excellent job caring for our dog Lucy and our cat Baxter. She was exceptionally communicative from the minute we first reached out until we returned home from the trip. She followed all of our instructions on how to care for them and asked great questions when she was unsure about something. We came home to a very clean house and two very happy animals. We feel very lucky to have found Tanya and will absolutely be booking her again!

El does an amazing job with our dogs. She *really cares about our dogs... she loves them, stays with them and looks out for their needs. I have hired alot of different sitters over the past 3 years as I travel alot for work. El, by far is the best in so many ways. I intend to keep booking her as long as she is available.
Olivia was wonderful! She took the time to meet with us beforehand to go over all of our dogs’ needs, which gave us so much peace of mind. She communicated clearly, sent daily updates and pictures, and made us feel confident that our pets were in great hands. She truly went above and beyond as we came home to a super clean house, as if no one had even stayed over with our pets. We will absolutely book her again.

We would give 1,000 stars if we could! Cassandra is a godsend. We were in a panic after finding out our family member that typical stays with Bitsa was unavailable during a 2-week trip across the world and we only had three weeks to find someone who I trusted and could stay in our home. I was so happy to find Cassandra on Rover. She didn’t even blink an eye after telling her about the separation anxiety Bitsa suffers from that usually keeps her from eating for a couple days after we leave, and also requires Bitsa isn’t alone for more than 4-5 hours a day. She was so patient with her and had her eating by day two!! We received pictures and updates everyday which I loved. Bitsa was so well taking care of I had to write this review the night we returned. We had an unexpected flight delay and she was happy to stay a couple hours longer to make sure Bitsa has dinner and a walk. It was a total surprise to walk in the door and find our home so clean! We greatly appreciated all Cassandra did for us, and Bitsa and would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a first-class pet sitter!!

Tania was a perfect housesitter for our GSD Nova while we were away for a multi-day ski trip. She was very flexible with us as we were struggling to leave and return on time, and was willing to help when a special delivery was scheduled for us while we were away. Nova seemed to really like her, and she was excited to run through training sessions with Nova each night. She also provided some of the best photos of Nova we have ever seen! I would absolutely recommend Tania to anyone.

Alex was fantastic and we will certainly look to book her again in the future. On short notice she stayed at my house and watched my two dogs and two cats. She provided the perfect amount of communication and sent detailed pictures and updates. The animals were clearly very happy and comfortable with her. Our house was also well taken care of and clean when we returned.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Leyden walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Leyden maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Leyden choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Leyden. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
