“Kristen is amazing with our 3 Siberian Huskies, especially our super senior dog that is 15.5 years old. She takes of the dogs, the house and always keeps us updated. We love having her watch our dogs.”
“Lilou was great with Lola, especially during the 4th of July for a night of scary fireworks. She was communicative and responsive all week. She sent pictures of Lola playing and Lola seemed to have a great time.”

“Nice is amazing. Our sweet Jax seemed so comfortable with her, which put us at ease given his age and the fact that we were so far away from home. She sent a bunch of pictures and updates; we never worried once, which was so comforting. Nice treated our home and our dog as if they were hers. Next time we plan a vacation, we’re definitely contacting Nice!”

“Sasha was prompt and professional. Proving regular updates, putting my worried mind to rest. It is never easy leaving your pups behind, but they were in good hands with Sasha.”

“Moriah did a fantastic job of taking care of our greyhounds and home while we were away. She is a terrific communicator and we highly recommend her to anyone in need of pet care. We will definitely reach out to her for all future trips. ??”

“This is the second time Jennifer has watched my senior dog for me and I never have to worry knowing she is watching him for me. I get regular message updates along with pictures of how my dog is doing. Highly recommend booking with Jennifer!!”
“I really appreciate how well Adrienne took care of Izzy and Bullet! Over time Izzy and Bullet have become much like therapy dogs for me. I was really anxious about leaving them for a backpack with friends that the dogs could not come along on. Adrienne sent pictures of home life and time at the dog park. The pictures really helped ease my mind. When I came home I was glad to see how much Izzy and Bullet loved Adrienne and that really helped me feel they had been well cared for! Thank You Adrienne!”

“Overall, great experience working with Bill. Communicative and easy to work with. Took great care of both my dog and cat at our home. We felt comfortable while we were in California for the holidays knowing our furry loved ones are comfortable at our home with Bill. They were taken care of and loved. We will be using him every time her on out.”

“Leane was great with our dogs and was able to be home to give them walks and let them out, and also sleep at our house with them which was perfect. The dogs went on lots of walks and snuggles with her too. She sent me updates and photos, which was great and kept us in the loop with her plans. We will definitely be booking with her again. I felt safe leaving our furry children with Leane!”

“Margaret was great! She stayed with our two girls for a weekend- one being medically complex and needing medications at specific times. She gave us frequent updates and we knew our girls were in great hands!”

About: Looking to fill the house with furry friends since my golden of 13 years recently passed and I’m really not ready for a permanent pet just yet. My home is set up for dogs under 100lb. Dogs have direct access to a fenced yard through a secure doggy door so they can come in and out as they please. I always have fresh water on the main level, upstairs room, and back patio. The back yard has a medium sized lawn area, large covered patio, and dog house. I’ve had experience with both puppies and senior dogs, and have a very pet-safe home. I have a flexible job that allows me to bring a dog if I’m going into the office. I do have work a couple days a week that requires I leave the house for up to 6 hours sometimes so having a dog that is ok to have the run of the house for a bit is preferred but this can be worked around as well. I plan to do dog sitting for a while until I decide it’s time for a new best friend. My job is pretty flexible. I can work from home most of the time so I can pay a lot of attention to your pet. I have a dog friendly home with doggy door access to a large covered patio and fenced yard. Dogs can come and go as they please through the door.
“We are thankful to be safely back to our home and dog after a short trip away so soon after being gone the better part of a week for our daughter's wedding. April did not disappoint! We returned to a happy dog and a tidy home! We were worried about delays at the airports and April was willing to come to the rescue if it was needed. Thank you, April!”

“We had never had a dog sitter/house sitter stay at our house before until we met Tanya. We were unsure how this worked and were nervous. That was one month ago. We have since used Tanya's services twice. Once for 12 days and once for 2 days. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Tanya. We received updates and photos about our dog several times a day and our house was cleaner upon our return than when we left. During our trips, we missed our dog but we did not worry one bit. We knew he was in super great hands. We want everyone to use Tanya - just not when we need her! : ) Tanya deserves 100 stars on this review!”

“Hannah was absolutely amazing! She took such wonderful care of our pets and kept us updated while we were away, giving us complete peace of mind. We came home to happy, well-loved pets and couldn’t be more grateful. We highly recommend Hannah and will definitely book with her again!”

“Ann was amazing! So kind, my dog loved her, and she was extremely attentive. She sent pictures daily, updates on my pup, and was very friendly and communicative! Willow and I would both recommend Ann❤️”

About: I have experience caring for dogs of different sizes, ages, and energy levels through family and friends. My responsibilities have included feeding, providing fresh water, walking, exercising, administering oral medications when needed, cleaning up after pets, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. As a U.S. Army veteran, I understand the importance of reliability, communication, and following instructions carefully. I treat every pet as if they were my own and make it a priority to stick to their routine, provide plenty of attention and exercise, and keep owners updated with photos and messages throughout each visit. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, or simply relaxing with company, I'm committed to providing dependable, attentive care so you can have peace of mind while you're away. I'm currently a full-time college student, but I maintain a consistent schedule that allows me to provide reliable pet care throughout the week. Availability: Monday and Wednesday: Early morning–1:00 PM, and 7:00 PM–late Tuesday and Thursday: Early morning–11:30 AM, and 7:00 PM–late Friday to Sunday: Available all day I'm happy to accommodate early morning, evening, and weekend bookings. If your schedule is a little different, feel free to reach out—I’ll do my best to make it work whenever possible. Your pet's safety and well-being are my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet's routine, personality, and any special care instructions before every booking. During walks, I keep dogs securely leashed unless we're in a designated off-leash area with your permission. I stay alert to my surroundings, avoid unsafe situations, and always make sure pets have fresh water, exercise, and plenty of attention. I understand how important communication is, so I'll send regular updates and photos to keep you informed while you're away. I treat every home with respect by keeping it clean, locking doors, and following all instructions exactly as requested. My goal is to provide a safe, calm, and positive experience so both you and your pet feel comfortable and confident.

Jodi was amazing. She came and met all the pets and was eager to learn about their care. She is easy to communicate with and sent pictures when she was here. She seemed to really care about my fur babies I would highly recommend her and would definitely use her again.

Peyton was seriously amazing with my dogs! She kept me updated, was super reliable, and handled everything so well. I felt really comfortable knowing they were with her, which means a lot to me because I’m very particular about who I trust with my babies! I would absolutely use her again :)

El does an amazing job with our dogs. She *really cares about our dogs... she loves them, stays with them and looks out for their needs. I have hired alot of different sitters over the past 3 years as I travel alot for work. El, by far is the best in so many ways. I intend to keep booking her as long as she is available.
Olivia was wonderful! She took the time to meet with us beforehand to go over all of our dogs’ needs, which gave us so much peace of mind. She communicated clearly, sent daily updates and pictures, and made us feel confident that our pets were in great hands. She truly went above and beyond as we came home to a super clean house, as if no one had even stayed over with our pets. We will absolutely book her again.

We would give 1,000 stars if we could! Cassandra is a godsend. We were in a panic after finding out our family member that typical stays with Bitsa was unavailable during a 2-week trip across the world and we only had three weeks to find someone who I trusted and could stay in our home. I was so happy to find Cassandra on Rover. She didn’t even blink an eye after telling her about the separation anxiety Bitsa suffers from that usually keeps her from eating for a couple days after we leave, and also requires Bitsa isn’t alone for more than 4-5 hours a day. She was so patient with her and had her eating by day two!! We received pictures and updates everyday which I loved. Bitsa was so well taking care of I had to write this review the night we returned. We had an unexpected flight delay and she was happy to stay a couple hours longer to make sure Bitsa has dinner and a walk. It was a total surprise to walk in the door and find our home so clean! We greatly appreciated all Cassandra did for us, and Bitsa and would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a first-class pet sitter!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Leyden walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Leyden maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Leyden choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
