About: I have 17+ years experience volunteering at Humane Colorado (formerly Denver Dumb Friends League). My specialty is walking fearful, high arousal, or strong puller dogs, and a dog that loves to take their time and enjoy nature is always a joy! I also foster dogs of all ages, from newborn puppies to senior dogs, and have fostered a variety of SMAMS over the years. I have 2+ years experience giving sub-Q fluids and injections, and 17 years experience giving medications to all animals. I will give your pup(s) the best care while you are away! I am a current Jeffco educator. I work M-F from 7am to 3 pm. I am open to visit, walk and stay with your pet M-F after 3pm, any time of the day Saturday, and most of the day on Sunday. I volunteer at the shelter on Sunday, so that would be the only time I would have a scheduled absence. I am open to taking them outside on leash, supervising them even if there is a fenced yard, kenneling them or letting them sleep near me if that is what they are used to.

“Brae was super communicative and proactive. My cats look similar and she was the first sitter to immediately see the difference and treat them like the individuals they are. She clearly cared for my kitties and I felt very comfortable leaving them in her hands”

“Ali was awesome with Shiloh! She helped me out SUPER last minute when my work would have me out of the house long hours. She was fast with her communication, was prompt with her timing, and messaged me during the visit. I felt 100% confident leaving Shiloh and my home in her hands even though we had never met and coordinated not even 24 hours prior! So seamless and lifesaving for us 🤩”

“Shannon helped us with our senior kitty last minute when our usual sitter was out of town. She was punctual, thorough and communicative and handled complicated medication instructions like a pro. We really enjoyed working with her and will definitely be booking her again!”

“Taya is fantastic always going out if her way to take care of my cat and also the house. I really appreciate her and will use her services everytime I go away if possible.”

“Luther is professional, incredibly knowledgeable and has excellent communication skills. He took great care of our animals while we were on a long vacation. We will definitely hire him again and highly recommend him!”

About: I love animals more than life!! Ive been so lucky to have had such a wide variety of pets of my own and to have met and cared for so many of my friends and families pets as if they are my own. I worked at a doggy daycare facility for a year, which gave me extensive knowledge on caring for dogs and reading body language. I am well equipped to care for animals of all sizes!! I currently do not have other pets or children, making me flexible with my availability on both weekends and weekdays for any services your pet may need! Caring for animals will make my days a million times better!! I am keen on treating your pets as if they are my own. I have so much love in my heart for all animals and you can always trust that they are in the best hands.

“Amy was very good with Gypsy when we first met and asked a lot of questions. She was super punctual and sent me cute pictures during the walks. Will definitely be using Amy again!”

“Sara is great, squeezed me in last minute, was more than willing to do a meet and greet. Great with my cats and knew exactly what I was talking about when I expressed that my intent was to have someone there to keep them company vs a standard litter scoop for a drop in. Highly recommend, will be using Sara again in the future!”

“Sasha took incredible care of our cats. She was very responsible, arriving at the designated times and following all of the feeding instructions. She was patient while they warmed up to her. I appreciated the fun photos and feedback she shared after each visit. I returned home to very happy and relaxed cats. This was evidence that she took tremendous care to make sure they were happy during her visits.”

“Jen does a great job of including lots of pictures and communicating details about how each visit goes, we never have to wonder and that provides great peace of mind!”

About: I have had dogs my entire life, from a poodle when I was a child to labs and a husky as an adult. I rent now, so sadly am unable to have a pet now and miss the love they give. I have not had cats, but have had roommates who have cats and have occasionally assisted in their care. I do enjoy and love all animals. I will be happy to take your pet on long or short walks, feed, and play with your furry friend. I am mature and responsible.
“Rebecca was super communicative and flexible with our schedule changes. Lots of pics of our animals. Brought in a large package too. So helpful! Looking forward to booking again.”

“Paul is great! I decided to have him walk my pups before I head out of town in the event that there is an emergency. He was more than happy to come over a few weeks ago and meet with my pups and myself. I was surprised how receptive Oly was! She usually hides for a bit until she gets used to someone new. He topped off their water and food. I was concerned because Oly is a little neurotic and Bean has leash aggression. I forgot to mention how to use the gentle lead to Paul for my larger pup, but from the pictures he knows how to use them. Very happy with Paul and definitely will be a repeat weekly walk client. Thank you, Paul!!!”

“Mishel goes above and beyond in her communication which is so nice, especially when you are new to this! She asked for lots of details and instructions and was so sweet with my pup. Thank you Mishel!!”

“Joanne was amazing! We had always boarded Peyton thinking this was the way to go. Due to issues with our normal boarding facility we chose to try this service. It was a tough decision. So glad we did! Joanne kept us updated on every visit with comments and pictures. Peyton had a great time and he was waiting for us when we got home? My wife and I will never board again. Joanne's in home visits is the way to go.”

“Keturah is awesome with my kitties and very kind. She got my super shy kitty comfortable and snuggling with her within a matter of a couple days, which is quite impressive! She definitely has the touch! She was a good sport with my automatic feeder instructions and handling my automatic litter box as well. She would post detailed summaries of her visits. She did an excellent job!! Thanks, Keturah!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Leyden
Vanessa took great care of my two cats. She was very communicative and thoughtful about their individual needs. One of my cats is more timid, and she made sure he still ate by moving his bowl to where he was hiding so he could eat where he felt safe. She gave both cats lots of attention, and I felt very comfortable leaving them in her care.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Leyden. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
