“Krista was absolutely amazing! My cat was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, and I am currently figuring out which medication works for her and making sure she eats enough. I was a bit nervous to leave for a trip during this time. Krista was the best cat sitter I could have asked for. She was extremely communicative, sent tons of photos and videos, and even made a daily log about my cat’s meal times, medication timing, and how she was doing each day. I would rebook with her and recommend her in a heartbeat.”
“Sasha did a great job housesitting and caring for our dogs and cat! Great communication, followed our complicated care instructions, and was flexible when we needed her to stay longer. Thank you, Sasha!”

“Kayli was phenomenal! She cared for our pup as if he was her own! Appreciated the daily updates, even if I did not see them immediately. Highly recommended and would rebook again!”

“Javier was wonderful! He came over before we left to meet all of our pets and get to know the program. He walked out dogs every day and snuggled our kitty. The animals were happy when we returned and the house was clean. I would recommend Javier!”

“My husband and I always have fun on our trips, because we know Winnie is in excellent hands. Not only does Lila provide numerous pictures with comments/ she sends pictures of anything that she thinks looks abnormal. Lila is delightful, responsable, and she loves animals! She will treat yours like hers I have no hesitation about giving her the highest marks possible.”

“Kristen is amazing with our 3 Siberian Huskies, especially our super senior dog that is 15.5 years old. She takes of the dogs, the house and always keeps us updated. We love having her watch our dogs.”
“Odie loves his time with Jessica. This is the second time that she kept him and everything went smoothly. Up front communication was simple and I received lots of photo and video updates throughout the stay. The house was clean and Odie was happy when I returned.”

“Hanna took such great care of our dogs while we were away. She kept us updated with messages and photos, which made it easy to relax and enjoy our trip knowing they were safe and happy at home. She was thoughtful, dependable, and clearly cares about the animals she looks after. We never had to worry about them for a moment. We are incredibly grateful for her help and would happily have her watch our dogs again.”

“Lauren is great and we will definitely book with her again! She took great care of our bernese mountain dog who can be a bit challenging on walks and likes lots of attention, was always very responsive and sent us updates, and also was a great houseguest. Thanks Lauren!”

“Heidi was great housesitting and watching our 5 y/o german shepherd for 10 days. She replied quickly to messages, kept us updated with photos, and even kept our 2 potted plants alive during the 100 degree heat. Frieda seemed well cared for when we got home, and the house was as we left it. Would recommend and use again.”

“Christy was great! Our pup was clearly happy, comfortable, and well cared for, and the house was left spotless when we returned. It was obvious that Christy not only kept to our dog's routine but also gave her plenty of love and attention. We will definitely use her again! :)”

“Sally was great for a home stay and watching our 5 year old toller. She was communicative and left everything in great condition.I definitely would book Sally again to watch our dog”
“Maren watched both our dog, Georgia, and kitty, Boo for a weekend. Great communication and appreciate the extra "commitment" given what a challenge our kitty can be. :)”

“Isabella was great staying with our three pups! It’s hard for us to board outside of the house all together, and Isabella graciously came to stay with them over the weekend we were gone. She provided daily updates and the pups were all healthy and happy when we got home. We will definitely be reaching back out to her next time we’re out of town!”

“Alisha was absolutely amazing! She was very communicative, took care of everything in our house while we were gone, and most importantly took wonderful care of our pets. I will most definitely work with her again.”

“Santiago watched our dog Daisy for the first time and yet it felt as if we had known him for a long time. He was wonderful with Daisy as we could see from the many photos he sent to keep us informed every day. He fulfilled all of our requests regarding food, walks, plant watering. Our house was in excellent condition. He even laundered the sheets and re made the bed. That sure is a bonus at the end of a trip. Because I felt so comfortable on meeting Santi, I booked him for another stay before he had come the first time. It is so wonderful to leave a beloved pet with a light hearted and confident feeling as we did with Santi. Daisy seemed to thrive on his watch. We all look forward to his next stay.”

“Our five-year-old Springer Spaniel enjoyed spending eight days in our home with Larisa. She took her for long walks, played with her and worked with her "four-on-the-floor" training we've been working on. There was no transition when we arrived home, everything was back to normal, which was very nice. For us it was nice not to have to leave her at a kennel. We will call Larisa again.”

Heidi was great housesitting and watching our 5 y/o german shepherd for 10 days. She replied quickly to messages, kept us updated with photos, and even kept our 2 potted plants alive during the 100 degree heat. Frieda seemed well cared for when we got home, and the house was as we left it. Would recommend and use again.

This is our second time working with Lila and it was just as good as the first. She took wonderful care of our little Lucy and our home. Our return flight was delayed by about 8 hours and Lila was so accommodating, staying with Lucy until we landed late in the evening.

Jake watched our 5.5 month old puppy, Maya, overnight in our home. Maya is teething and has high puppy energy, definitely more work than an adult dog. Jake was perfectly professional and communicative the entire time. He sent photos and short updates. Maya was very well taken care of and was a happy girl when we got home. The house was left in perfect condition which I know took some work as Maya tends to leave toys and fluff all about. I do not hesitate to recommend Jake to anyone.

Alisha provided superior communication with daily check-ins, attention to detail, and determination in getting 4 cats with very different personalities to interact with her. She handled our recent tripod kitty especially well. Our home was left in excellent condition and our plants were also well cared for.Even before the sit, Alisha agreed to come over twice so that we could update her on our tripod kitty’s recovery and progress. And she even stayed longer than we asked upon our return, making sure that our plane had touched down before she wrapped up and left. Highly recommend!!!

Javier watched our 2 cattle dogs and cat for a week. He has a very calm demeanor and in our initial meeting put us at ease and the animals immediately connected with him. He was responsive, kept our home clean, and completed additional home maintenance like watering plants and gardens. Upon returning home, our animals were happy and had clearly been well cared for. They did not seem anxious and had clearly spent the week getting attention and love. We'll definitely be using Javier again!

Stephanie was so amazing. We had a last minute booking request and she went above and beyond to fulfill not only all of their basic needs but even to make sure they had a great time. Super communicative, daily pictures - we had no worries being gone. Highly recommend!!

Ella was an outstanding Rover sitter, and we would book with her again in a heartbeat! She stayed with our dog, Finley, and cared for our home for two nights while we were away. From start to finish, she was incredibly communicative, providing updates and making us feel completely at ease knowing Finley was in great hands. Ella was very responsible, self-sufficient, and took wonderful care of both Finley and our home. She truly went above and beyond. When we returned, the house was spotless, and she had even put towels in the wash before leaving. It was clear she treated our home with respect and cared for Finley as if he were her own. We couldn’t have been happier with our experience and would gladly have Ella stay with Finley again. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and caring sitter! TYSM again Ella!! 🙂

Bailey recently stayed at our house for about a week and looked after our dog, Maggie. The house was left clean and she took excellent care of our dog. She always replied quickly to any communication, and was very friendly and responsible. If you're looking for a pet sitter, she's a great find! Thanks, Bailey!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Superior walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Superior maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Superior choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
