About: I have taken care of small dogs (Bichons) and medium-large family dogs (Doodle). I love going for walks, hanging out, etc. I currently do not have any pets as I travel a decent amount for work (research conferences), but love spending time with my friends' pets. I am a very detail-oriented and responsible person, and will take good care of your furry friend! I am a Bioengineering PhD graduate who now works as staff at CU Boulder in the Chemical Engineering Department designing new materials to prevent joint diseases such as arthritis. I often have availability on the weekends as well. I live in Superior and would be happy dog walking/sitting in Boulder, Superior, Louisville, Lafayette, etc. Cats are also very welcome! I only offer house sitting (staying at your house) and drop in visits as I live in an apartment complex and cannot have pets over (boarding) without paying additional fees. For house sitting, I will sleep over at your house and spend most of my day there. I will leave for some of the day to run errands, grab food, etc. on the weekends. I will leave for work on the weekdays and can come back for lunch if needed. If you need 24/7 care, I may not be the best fit. However, I do spend a lot of time with the pets I care for and provide plenty of walks, treats, snuggles, etc. I am happy to get the mail, and water a few plants for free. If you have other pets besides dogs and cats that need specific care or chores that require >30 min/daily, please provide appropriate compensation. About: Hello! Thank you for visiting my profile. I am a lifelong dog-lover and I just go gaga for descendents of wolves of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. My mother actually says that my first word as a baby was "dog", so I think it is simply fate that I am here today. I grew up with a magical Golden Retriever named Chessie and a spunky wire-haired Dachshund named Emma. I loved playing fetch with Chessie in the backyard, grooming Emma and trying to tame her spikey fur, and walking them together all around my hometown. As an adult, friends and family trusted me to walk, feed, play with, and care for their dogs. And later, I was lucky enough to adopt a very special 7-year old mini-Australian Shepherd named Lexi who had been surrendered by her previous owner. Lexi had intense separation anxiety and some health issues with her kidneys, so after all that she had been through, it was so wonderful and rewarding to love and care for Lexi and watch her regain her confidence and trust in people and thrive. Being her dog-mom was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life and I miss her so much. As your pup's new friend, it is my mission to give them that same level of attention, care, and admiration. Dogs have infinite space for love and joy and we have so much to learn from them, so I look forward to meeting you and your pup! I am a work-from-home creative type so I have lots of time and space in my schedule to take care of your pup! I am available for walks, playdates, and drop-ins, Monday through Friday 8am - 6pm and I also offer boarding. If there are other small pets in your home I’m happy to care for them as well, I have experience with tons of small animals, from chameleons to chinchillas! I am a full-time medical assistant monday through thursday, so I typically will only take overnight jobs over the weekend in order for me to be able to spend as much time with your fur baby as possible and for my work schedule to not interfere with their care.
