“Thank you, Lila for taking such good care of Pace ! It made it easier to be away knowing someone was caring for him the same way I would. Consistently sending me pictures and a report each time you visited was a bonus and very much appreciated !”

“Krista is the type of human you just instantly trust with your animals. She is warm, friendly, and showed strong responsibility and organization with our booking requests. We’re excited to have her as our weekly walker! :)”

“Jennifer has been my sitter for over a year now. Recently I added a black lab for her to watch as well. Thought the visit she was extremely communicative with both pets as to their needs and how they were doing.”

“We have been working with Riley for quite a while now, and she continues to consistently deliver the best care for our pupper. She is an excellent communicator, great with our dog, and is always accommodating/flexible. We wouldn’t trust our pup with anyone else more! ☺️”

“If you want the best dog walker, don't look any further. Dan is by far the best dog walker. He is kind to Bella, provides the best care, and was willing to add me to his schedule during the holiday season when I got sick.”

About: I have been taking care of cats and dogs since I was 12 and I have owned cats and dogs since I was born. I really enjoy seeing all their different personalities and giving personalized care to your pet! I’m a part-time teacher with summers off, which gives me the flexibility to provide dependable pet care year-round. I’m available to stop by every afternoon to feed, check on, and spend time with your cats, making sure they’re happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Your cats will be cared for as if they were my own. I provide attentive, loving visits while maintaining a clean, respectful environment in your home. You can count on me to carefully lock up after every visit and ensure your cats are safe, comfortable, and well cared for.
“Thanks Tara for helping me out at the last minute. Dogs were fed and walked plus a little cuddle time. Tara was not intimidated by Jack our hunting dog. He can be a handful but Tara approached him with great confidence. Everything was great.”

About: I have over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments—from energetic puppies to senior dogs needing extra patience and gentle care. I’ve grown up around dogs and have consistently provided walking, feeding, bathing, medication support, and basic training reinforcement (including leash manners and crate training). I currently have a very flexible schedule as I prepare for my board exams in July. I am home most days and able to provide consistent care throughout the day, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnight stays if needed. Pet care easily fits into my daily routine, and I enjoy building my study breaks around walks, playtime, and check-ins with pets. I prioritize safety, consistency, and communication in every pet care situation. I follow each owner’s instructions closely and ensure pets are always supervised during walks and play. I am mindful of leash safety, environmental hazards, and pet stress cues. I also provide regular updates, photos, and check-ins so owners feel confident and connected while away. I live in a large 3-bedroom apartment with plenty of indoor space for dogs to move around, relax, and play comfortably. The building includes a luxury pet wash area and two on-site dog parks, making it easy to provide both cleanliness and exercise. Pets are welcome on all furniture unless otherwise specified by the owner, so they can feel at home and comfortable. I also have a well-trained 5-year-old Australian Shepherd who is friendly. She can provide companionship and playtime for social dogs, while I always ensure interactions are safe and appropriate based on each pet’s temperament. Pets will never be left alone together!!
“Brett is great with our girls. I’m so glad that he’s been able to do this for us! I would highly recommend him great communication, punctual, and overall just a wonderful person.”

“Thank you,Cole, for being so flexible with the dogs walks in this nasty heat. Greyhounds are thin skinned and have virtually zero body fat so they overheat easily and don’t even want to venture outside when it’s this hot. The dogs love you and all I have to do is say your name and they get crazy excited. Have a great weekend!”

About: Reliable, experienced, and genuinely happy to be there. That's what your dog gets with me. I'm a full-time professional pet sitter focused on drop-in visits and neighborhood walks, and I've been caring for animals for twenty years, from friends' and family's pets to 25+ five-star house-sitting stays through TrustedHousesitters, plus a growing record here on Rover. I've worked with puppies through seniors, high-energy dogs, anxious dogs, and dogs on complicated medication schedules. Most of what I do is simple, and I do it the same way every time. Your dog gets out, gets exercise suited to their age and energy, gets fed on schedule, and gets real attention instead of a rushed fifteen minutes. If they're reactive, shy, or slow to warm up to strangers, tell me. I'd rather move slowly on the first visit than push a dog who isn't ready. I answer messages the moment they come in, since my phone and watch are always on me, and I send photo updates through Rover Cards after every single visit. You'll never wonder whether I showed up. Pet care is my full-time work, not something I fit around another job. That means I can cover midday walks while you're at the office, twice-daily visits while you're traveling, and I'm often able to take same-day requests when something comes up. My calendar is updated daily. If you see availability, it's real. I care for pets in their own homes, where they're most comfortable. On the first visit I confirm the essentials in writing: entry and lockup, leash and harness setup, where the leash lives, any door or gate a dog can slip through, food storage and portions, and your vet's information. I lock up behind me every time, keep dogs leashed unless we're in a securely fenced space you've approved, and text you right away if anything seems off, whether it's a limp, a skipped meal, or an unusual mess. I'd rather send a message you didn't need than stay quiet about something that mattered.
About: I have been in the pet industry for 10 years. I previously owned a small holistic pet supply. I have 4 dogs of my own and a cat. Ever since I was little I had a passion to help animals in some way.I help family and friends offten taking care of their pets when they need help. Im knowledgeable in health and nutrition for dogs and cats and also well aware of different breeds needing certain attention and care. Mornings can be busy. I make sure the dogs get outside for bathroom time right away. My cat is sure to let me know first thing in the morning that he is starving. I have a senior dog and he gets a special wet food diet and is also very vocal about being fed. Supplements after potty and breakfast and then when the weather is nice some outdoor play. We have a fenced yard and lots of space for play. Toys and beds in every room. We keep things clean and spacious. I provide healthy treats and fresh water.

“Vicenza, has been so great with my dog Marley! It takes Marley a long time to warm up to people and to trust them…and Vicenza has managed to do gain her trust in a short period of time.”

“Ria was an awesome dog walker. She handled a larger dog with no problems. She was very mindful and considerate to take good care of and ensure my pup got in some exercise during the day. Rebooking Ria for more dog walks in the future.”

About: I’ve been taking care of and painting dogs and sometimes cats here and there for almost 4 years now. No professional work, only personal with family and friends. I would care for a dog and cat at Kodama Farm in Washington (My brothers farm). I cared for a 1 year old, husky puppy for 1 whole year, every so often (my sisters dog). I’ve had more friends and family ask me to watch their puppers. In total I’ve been with a golden retriever, black lab, black lab mix, husky, pekingese, french bulldogs and an australian shepherd. Sometimes I even make drawings or paintings of the dogs I’m with! I’m an artist and I’m striving to create a pet portrait business and what better way to get in touch with owners than this app! I work landscape a couple days a week and work late on Sunday doing cleaning for a wedding venue. So I’m pretty free and have high hopes that watching your little friends will keep me busy. If i’m not watching your pet then I hope to be painting/ drawing them! I have a fenced yard with access to go inside and outside whenever they please. I love with my family, my brother has a dog that’s more of a people person than a dog person. Then a cat that is used to other dogs, but he’s still a cat. I’m super close to Waneka Lake and I’m close drive from other various parks or open spaces.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Louisville
I debated about leaving this review because I honestly wanted to keep Jordan to myself buuuuuut..... that would be unfair to Jordan so, here it is. Our girl Nova is a pit bull, and if you have one, you know. She's strong, she's energetic, and she does NOT warm up to just anyone. We had booked Jordan for a two-week house sit and he came by for a meet and greet beforehand. I'll be honest, I was a little nervous — Nova can be picky. But she took to him right away. Like, immediately. My husband and I both looked at each other like, okay, this is our guy. Then life happened. We had a family emergency and had to cancel on Jordan last minute. He was so understanding about it, no awkwardness, no attitude, just kindness. That really stuck with me. And THEN — still in the middle of everything — Nova ended up alone at home longer than we'd planned. I reached out to Jordan basically in a panic and he showed up for her without hesitation. Knowing she was in good hands while we were dealing with so much was genuinely such a relief. We travel a lot and finding someone I actually trust with Nova is hard. Jordan is our first call from here on out. If you have a big, strong, stubborn dog and need someone who gets it — he's your person.

Larisa did a great job in walking our dog Luca, a 65-pound English Shepherd. I felt confident going out of town for a week and leaving him in her hands. I knew her experience in dog training would keep him safe. Besides that, he loved her and could wait to take his walks!

Highly recommend! Communication was clear and reliable from start to finish, which gave me peace of mind. When I returned, my dogs were happy and relaxed. I really appreciate the effort he put into giving them a good, long walk. If you’re looking for someone dependable who truly cares about your pets’ exercise and well-being, this is your person!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
