Safety, trust & environment

In the rare event of an emergency, I’m trained in pet CPR and first aid. My training includes handling injured pets, prioritizing medical needs, taking vital signs (temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate), assisting choking pets, checking for dehydration, and responding to animals in shock. I know how important one-on-one connection is for pets while you’re away, helping them feel safe, comforted, and cared for. I also understand that some animals—especially cats—may need extra patience before warming up. In those cases, I gently build trust, whether through play or simply spending calm time nearby. If they’re open to it, I’ll make sure they enjoy plenty of playtime, pets, and for the more social ones, snuggles too! For kitty drop-ins, I can visit at the same time each day if requested, to provide the comfort and security of a consistent schedule. Safety is always a top priority. I stay aware of potential hazards during visits and walks, putting dangerous objects out of reach and closely supervising dogs while outdoors. I’ll always closely observe their behavior to ensure they’re acting normally and to notice any changes. If I ever notice anything out of the ordinary, I will contact you immediately. In addition, I’ll always lock your residence during and after visits. Tips for leaving anxious cats at home during long trips: * Leave a light on at night—cats can see well, but being alone in the dark for several days can make them anxious. * Provide treats for your sitter to give during each visit. * Keep your home warm; cats dislike the cold. * Leave out worn clothing or blankets with your scent for comfort. * Offer interactive toys, like puzzle feeders, treat-dispensing toys, or scratch-and-rolls. * Turn on “cat TV” (videos of birds, squirrels, or nature) for background stimulation. * Keep litter boxes far from food and water bowls. * Maintain a clean and tidy home. * Provide hiding spots and elevated perches for security. * If your cat shows consistent anxiety—vomiting, refusing to eat, or needing excessive attention—consider boarding them at a trusted home instead.

Information Ella A. would like to know about your pet

Please include your pet’s vet information in their bio or provide it directly to me before services begin. If your pet has any specific needs, I kindly ask that you share them in advance along with detailed instructions on how to best support them. I have experience caring for cats with asthma, anemia, seizures, glaucoma, and gingivitis, and I take every pet’s wellbeing seriously to ensure the best and smoothest experience possible. Helpful details to mention might include dietary restrictions, medical conditions, anxiety triggers, or even simple preferences like favorite activities and daily routines.

A typical day

I personalize all updates to fit your preferences by sending a quick survey before each booking. Whether you’d like detailed updates, just photos, or minimal check-ins, I’ll cater to the style of communication that feels best for you. For dog walks, I offer sessions ranging from 10 minutes up to 1 hour. I’m happy to follow any specific care instructions and will tailor each walk to your dog’s needs—whether they’re looking for an energized power walk or a relaxed stroll. For kitty drop-ins, I’ll start by following your care instructions (feeding, cleaning their box, refreshing their water, washing wet food dishes, etc.), while giving your pet(s) the love and attention they deserve. I’ll engage with your cat using any interactive toys you provide (wand toys, scratch-and-rolls, etc.). I know some cats love active play while others prefer snuggles, so I’ll always cater to their unique personality. If brushing is something they enjoy, I’m happy to include that as well. For shy or cautious cats, I take a gentle approach by giving them space and letting them come to me first before offering play or affection. After each visit, I provide a detailed update with plenty of photos, respond quickly to messages, and share any concerns that arise. I also make sure everything stays clean, tidy, and treated with respect. For doggy drop-ins, I’ll follow your care instructions while ensuring your pup gets the right balance of exercise, playtime, attention, and outdoor breaks. Depending on their energy level and preferences, activities might include fetch, chase, tug-of-war (if allowed), or simply running around together to burn off some energy. Each visit comes with a thorough update, lots of photos, prompt communication, and a clean space when I leave. I’ll always keep you informed of any questions or concerns, whether during or outside of visit hours. For boarding your sweet kitties, I’ll follow the care instructions provided and give them plenty of love and playtime throughout the day. I board up to 2 cats at a time, but only if they’re from the same owner. I’m home most hours of the day and don’t have any of my own pets, making it easy for me to give them my undivided attention if they’re comfortable of course. My home is very spacious with plenty of room for them to explore and run around. There are many windows for bird watching and it’s very quiet/peaceful. I even have a cozy designated area in my guest room closet for them to hide or sleep in if they wish to! Please bring enough litter & food for the duration of their stay, a litter box, toys, and treats if they have any. The only special request I have is that you please have your cat’s claws trimmed before their stay. This is highly appreciated!
