“Rachael is amazing- she is prompt, courteous, communicative, knoweldgable and so sweet with our 11 week old Chocolate Lab. She has taken wonderful care of her, helped her adjust to her crate with lots of extra help that she went out of her way to do. We trust her in our home and would 100% recommend and will use her again. Thank you so much, Rachael :) - Charlie & The Gibbs”

“Chelsea is awesome! We have a GSP puppy who can be a bit needy and difficult and Chelsea was accommodating and reliable. I know our pup is in good hands with her and we will definitely continue to work with her in the future.”

“Communicative and reliable! Did great handling our rather complicated dog! Was able to take her on walks even though she can have behavioral issues and gave her meds without issue! Great trustworthy drop in sitter, would love to use his services again!”

“Dan is amazing with my senior shih tzu! I couldn't ask for a better sitter. He was kind and gentle and even took Willie for a stroller ride. We're looking forward to having Dan hang out with Willie again soon.”
“Olinda was Incredible! Took great care of our cat for the week and a half we were gone. Sent us pictures regularly and went above and beyond! Truly grateful for her”

“Hanna did an amazing job checking in on my dog and cat with my last minute check-in request. Followed my instructions to a T and left the house in great shape. They also went above and beyond, taking care of our foster dog esp. with some complicated health stuff/instructions. Great communication. Will rebook again in the future.”

“As always Lila gave Winnie loving care, and was extraordinarily on her game, researching the care for dogs preparing to undergo Luxating patella surgery. Dogs and their peeps love Lila!”

About: I have over 10 years of personal experience caring for my own cat, which has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and understanding animals’ individual personalities. In addition to feline care, I’ve also looked after guinea pigs during spring break, ensuring they had a clean habitat, fresh veggies, and plenty of gentle attention. I’ve cared for dogs belonging to family friends, helping with feeding, walks, and playtime, always making sure they felt safe and loved while their owners were away. I’ve also had the opportunity to watch over a variety of pets for a few hours at a time, adapting quickly to their needs and routines. No matter the species, I approach every pet with kindness, respect, and a genuine love for animals. I’m currently enrolled in online college courses, which gives me the flexibility to create a balanced and adaptable schedule. Since my classes are self-paced and remote, I’m available for pet care throughout the week—mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Typical Daily Routine: • Morning (8am–11am): Morning walks, feedings, litter box cleanings, or drop-in visits • Midday (11am–3pm): Pet sitting, extended playtime, companionship, or check-ins (can adjust as needed) • Afternoon/Evening (3pm–8pm): Walks, dinner feeding, medication (if needed), or overnight care setups • Night (8pm onward): Available for overnight care, evening check-ins, or late-night drop-ins (on request) Weekly Flexibility: I’m available 7 days a week and can adjust my schedule based on your pet’s needs—whether it’s a one-time drop-in, recurring walks, weekend sitting, or extended stays. My online classes allow me to stay local and dependable all summer long. Your pet’s comfort, routine, and safety always come first. I’m committed to providing reliable, loving care that fits smoothly into both of our routines. Why You Can Trust Me with Your Pet As a lifelong animal lover with over 10 years of experience caring for my own cat, as well as looking after dogs, guinea pigs, and a variety of other pets, I understand how important it is to feel confident in the person caring for your furry family member. Whether I’m welcoming pets into my home or caring for them in yours, I make safety, comfort, and reliability my top priorities. In Your Home: When I pet sit in your home, I respect your space and follow your pet’s routine as closely as possible. I keep things tidy, stick to feeding and walk schedules, and ensure your pet feels secure in their familiar environment. I also send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and in good hands. Dog Walking: For dog walks, I always use secure leashes and harnesses and choose safe walking routes based on your dog’s size, energy level, and comfort. I take the time to build trust with each dog, making sure every walk is not just good exercise but also a positive experience. However, I own a cat who doesn’t like strangers or strange animal that come in her home With a flexible schedule and a genuine love for animals, I’m committed to giving your pet the same care and attention I’d give my own. You can trust that they’ll be safe, happy, and well cared for—whether it’s for an afternoon walk or a week-long stay.
“Danielle was fabulous with our cat Nala!! Took care of her so well and provided so many lovely photos while we were away! She answered so quickly and got there at the provided hours :) I can’t recommend her enough! She’s so friendly and excellent with communication. Had some last minute maintenance issues and she helped us move some things in our apartment with no sweat! 10/10 would book again!”

“Anna went above and beyond to make sure our two kitties were taken care of. She was able to get them to open up to her even though they are not very social. We will definitely be booking with her again!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats all my life with my family, and happily care for them still. I’ve even volunteered at the Boulder Humane Society to provide extra care to those who need it most in my community. I’m a recent graduate on summer break with another job where my availability varies. I start up school in the fall and will have weekends and some time after classes to care for your pets! I’ve always had dogs on the bigger side and am not scared to crate a dog if needed. I am capable of handling all sizes of dogs and cats and always aim to provide a safe and comfortable environment for them!
“Becky was very responsive and checked in on our pup as we discussed. She was very thorough in her photos and descriptions of her check-ins and time at our place! Will be using her again!”

“Cole was great! He came over at the agreed time and let Ivy out, gave her fresh water, and gave her some attention and pats. He also provided us with a few pictures and texted us with an update. He truly is a 5 star sitter.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Louisville
Colleen was excellent with my one year old cat Sunrise. She was very communicative, showed up at the agreed times, took very good care of him, and left the house very clean. My sweet kitty likes to throw cat litter and water from his dish all over! Highly recommend Colleen for taking care of your kitties! She was also very friendly and nice!

Candy was great for checking in on our cat while we were out of town. She kept him company and shared brief descriptions for how he was doing and photos each time which I really appreciated. The house was safely secured and all of Jabba’s food, water and litter were in good condition. Thank you!

Madeleine was awesome with our cat Cloud! His attitude can change day to day but she took it in stride and I think he even warmed up to her by the end. She clearly knows how to care for (and deal with) cats - this was shown even more when I got home to find that she had taken out the litter trash, cleaned all the food bowls, and refilled both the litter and his water fountain when I never asked her to do any of that! She was always communicative from the first meeting to the last check in with Cloud. Booking her was the best decision!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Louisville. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
