“Hanna took good care of our cat and our home while we were away for a few days. Our kitty seemed to love her, she texted lots of photos, and the house was clean when we arrived home.”

“First time trying Rover.com and we were so pleased to have found Lauren. She watched our two pups while we visited family out of the state and kept us updated with daily photos and texts. Will be a returning customer for sure.”

“Kayli was phenomenal! She cared for our pup as if he was her own! Appreciated the daily updates, even if I did not see them immediately. Highly recommended and would rebook again!”

“Odie loves his time with Jessica. This is the second time that she kept him and everything went smoothly. Up front communication was simple and I received lots of photo and video updates throughout the stay. The house was clean and Odie was happy when I returned.”

“Jamie was FABULOUS!! We had an accident with our pup prior to Jamie's arrival and when things went awry with Maple lashing out and chewing off her own bandage Jamie came to the rescue and sanitized our pup's paw and wrapped it up until she could take her to the vet. I couldn't recommend her enough!! She is an amazing person, so attentive, and incredibly thoughtful. THANK YOU! <3”

“Christian was so reassuring, communicative, and loving with sweet Bear! I felt very secure and free to enjoy our vacation with him house sitting. We will definitely be asking him to house sit again.”

“Kayla was wonderful with our very anxious lab. Lila warmed up to her after only a little while, which is unusual for her. Kayla was communicative and responsive and sent us daily pics. We came home to a happy dog and the house was as clean as we left it. Would definitely use Kayla again to dog/house sit!”

About: I’ve had dogs in my life for as long as I can remember. I got my first dog when I was five, and at 19 I adopted a rescue, which taught me a lot about patience, building trust, and understanding that every dog has a different personality and comfort level. I’m active and genuinely enjoy long walks, playtime, and giving dogs plenty of attention throughout the day. Since I work from home, I’m also able to be present and make sure your dog gets consistent care, companionship, and exercise. My day to day routine is pretty simple. I work from home so I can always be present and around for potty breaks, play time and feeding windows or any other specific times that are needed. I like to exercise, but the most I have to be away at any given time is 2-3 hours if I am going on a bike ride or long run. Of course my schedule can work around specific needs no problem! I like to respect your space when I am in it and don’t require much space at all. When it comes to the animals, I’m happy to keep them on a similar schedule to what you do or add in play time or walks throughout the day. I can’t sit still for too long so it actually helps me break up my workday nicely. I also like to keep things clean so don’t be surprised if the house looks nice when you come back home!

“If I could give Lila one million stars, I would! She was so communicative, and took amazing care of our pup. She sent many photos, and kept me updated on the status of things. He doesn’t eat well when I’m gone, but she made sure to hand feed him when she could.”

“Heidi was absolutely exceptional with our boys. We were away for a full week, and she went above and beyond in every way—providing attentive, loving care for our dogs while also taking incredible care of our home. We returned to a spotless house, the gardens were watered, and, most importantly, two happy, relaxed pups who were clearly well cared for. It gave us such peace of mind knowing they were in good hands. Heidi is reliable, thoughtful, and truly cares about the animals she looks after. We would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for trustworthy, high-quality pet and home care.”

“Isabella was wonderful! She was very comfortable with our large anxious dog and left the house looking great. She was very communicative and helped out with an unexpected delivery when we were gone. I look forward to using her again.”

“We couldn’t be happier with Kamaile as our dog sitter! From the very beginning, she was incredibly kind, communicative, and genuinely caring. Kamaile took wonderful care of our dog, Sassy, ensuring she received her ear drops, regular walks, and all the love and attention she deserves. We felt completely at ease knowing Sassy was in such good hands. To top it all off, Kamaile surprised us with an adorable hand-knitted stuffed toy modeled after Sassy—it was such a thoughtful and heartwarming gift! We are truly touched by her kindness and creativity. We highly recommend Kamaile to anyone seeking a caring, attentive, and thoughtful sitter. Thank you so much, Kamaile—you are amazing!”

“Megan was great with our 2 dogs! Great communication and frequent updates with pictures. I felt our dogs were well taken care of and happy to be around her. She also left the house spotless when we returned.”

About: I have always been somewhat of a dog whisperer. Love getting to know each of their personalities and learning their routines, coming down to their level gain trust and form a relationship. I enjoying getting outside and making sure they can get their exercise. I’m a cellist, so most of my days are spent practicing and going to rehearsals/teaching in the larger Boulder area. Most of my mornings are very free. I love going on walks with dogs, taking them to the dog park and socializing them with other dogs, using positive reinforcement to form and maintain good habits and everything in between. Care in your home is also important to me. I want to make sure you can have piece of mind that not only will you pet be taken care of but your home as well.

“Katy is amazing! I felt so great about being away from our anxious pup knowing that Katy was staying with her! Katy is kind, organized, clean and just went above and beyond to care for our dog and home! I will absolutely be rebooking with Katy when I can!”

“Holly was a wonderful sitter! She sent us so many videos and pictures while we were away. This helped ease our minds that our pet was in good hands. And, Holly made sure we had a plan when there was high winds/fire danger in the area. We can’t thank her enough!”

“Brenna took amazing care of our dog. She sent photos regularly and was responsive to emergencies like the power going out. We are so grateful for her care and attention to detail.”

“Krista was fantastic with taking care of my pup Telli. She sent lots of pics and updates and helped me relax on my vacation away. She even helped keep my plants alive by watering them for me! I would definitely recommend Krista and hope to use her again anytime I need someone.”

Kelly was so wonderful with our dogs and our home and we are very lucky to have been able to have her stay. Receiving pictures and little updates throughout our time away really put our kids at ease and the dogs looked like they were having an absolutely brilliant time!

She took excellent care of my 3 dogs, especially with Annie who is 18. They got a ton of walks, she figured out how to give Annie her medicine, which she hates. I don’t think my dogs were all that glad I was back, lol! She went above and beyond!!! Would recommend her to anyone. She’s the best!
Jessica was great with our pup! She was great at communication, sent us photos, and left our house spotless! Right before the sit, our dog pulled her hamstring and Jessica happily helped give her her anti inflammatory meds as instructed too. We will definitely be reaching back out to Jessica for any future sits and would recommend her for all your pet need!

Yulia has such a kind spirit that clearly put my senior dog at ease. She was patient and flexible - even working a solution when my flight was delayed coming home. It's tough to find people who are willing to work through the extra steps and challenges of a senior dog - frequent trips outside, help up the stairs, medicines, inconsistent appetite - and Yulia handled it all with such kindness and care. Thank you!

Lila was a perfect sitter for my older dog Merle! We had a great meet-and-greet where she asked lots of good questions about Merle and the house. Communication was great during her stay - she sent frequent updates, handled Merle's thunderstorm anxiety like a pro, and the house was immaculate when I returned. She also stayed later than planned to hang with Merle when my flight was delayed. Best of all, Merle seemed very unimpressed by my return home, which tells me he enjoyed his time with Lila. Definitely recommend!

We had an absolutely amazing experience with Ella as our dog/house sitter while we were away on a 2 week vacation! From our initial meet-and-greet, she was thorough and prepared a list of questions to make sure she understood everything about our puppy Kai and his routine. She had also kept notes throughout the visit! We left her a Kai care guide and house rules, and she followed everything perfectly. She also asked thoughtful follow-up questions whenever something came up that was not covered in the guide, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. She sent us daily updates as well with pictures and details about what her and Kai did that day, so we always knew how Kai was doing. When we came home, Kai was happy and healthy. Our home also was even more clean than when we left it! She was also extremely respectful of our home and belongings. Ella genuinely cares about the pets she takes care of and takes the responsibility seriously. As pet owners who think of their puppy as their son, we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would absolutely trust her with Kai again! We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible, communicative, trustworthy, and genuinely caring dog sitter!

Amber was absolutely the best! She took amazing care of our two labs and left our house spotless!! We received lots of photos while we were away which we really enjoyed and kept us updated on their well being. Would highly recommend Amber and will definitely use her again!!

We are so grateful for the wonderful care she gave our older dog and cat. Our dog was having a difficult time walking and needed extra patience, attention, and care, and she went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable and well looked after. It meant so much to us knowing she was in such caring hands.
Jessica has sat for us twice. The first time for 10 days and recently for another long weekend. I can honestly say she is now our "go-to" sitter. She is kind and observant asking great questions that help her provide great care. She is diligent about feeding and playing with our cat. She chronicles our pet’s day via photos and witty commentary that we all really enjoy getting every day! She really is a gem of a sitter and a lovely person. You’ll be fortunate to have her sit for your pets too!

Heidi was great housesitting and watching our 5 y/o german shepherd for 10 days. She replied quickly to messages, kept us updated with photos, and even kept our 2 potted plants alive during the 100 degree heat. Frieda seemed well cared for when we got home, and the house was as we left it. Would recommend and use again.

Sophia did a wonderful job taking care of our house and our pup for our week-long vacation. She managed a very old pup who needs a little extra care. I didn't have to worry about a thing while we were gone, and the house was tidy when we got home and our pup was clearly happy and settled. Super pleased with Sophia and will definitely ask for her help again in the future.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Louisville on Rover is $58.85 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 8,811 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Louisville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Louisville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Louisville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Louisville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
