“Moose loved his house sitting staycation with Emily while I was away. Emily was great w the walks & playtime & gave him his medicine etc while sending me lots of photos.”

“Nina was amazing!! She took such great care of my two dogs and my house while we were out of town. We received daily pictures, updates, and descriptions of what they did that day. It was above and beyond my expectations! What I liked best about Nina was how much she seemed to genuinely care about the dogs. She seemed really invested in their happiness and I could tell by the pictures the dogs had a blast. Thank you Nina again for being such an awesome person! It was such a relief to know the dogs were in such great hands. We will definitely use Nina's services again! Mahalo Nina from Jay, PJ and Luna <3”
“Meghan was great with Mimo and took wonderful care of him again. We had a few unexpected issues come up at home and with Mimo’s health, and she was incredibly helpful on managing while we were away.”

About: With two years of experience as an in-home pet sitter, I’ve had the pleasure of caring for two wonderful dogs, ensuring they are happy and well-looked after while their owners are away. Growing up with dogs my entire life has given me a deep understanding of their needs and behavior. This lifelong experience, combined with the joy my own cat brings me, enhances my ability to provide attentive and loving care to all pets entrusted to me. I am ideally looking to pet sit between Monday and Friday, with very open availability during these days. This flexible schedule allows me to accommodate a variety of pet care needs and ensure your pets receive the attention and care they deserve. As a dedicated pet sitter, I prioritize the safety and well-being of your pets by following strict safety precautions. I ensure that all areas are pet-proofed, provide secure feeding and play environments, and adhere to any specific care instructions you provide. Regular communication with you helps me stay updated on any changes or concerns, while my attentive approach ensures that your pets are safe, comfortable, and well-cared for throughout my time with them.
“Gillian was great with our older cat. She really took the time to connect with him and make him feel comforted while we were away. She sent photos, videos and updates regularly and we felt very assured our furry friend was in excellent hands while we were away. Thank you, Gillian!”

“Zach is wonderful! He is responsive, flexible, and understanding. He pays attention to details and cares deeply. Plus, my dogs seemed comfortable with him in their first meeting.”
“Chadd took great care of our dogs during our two week trip, providing regular updates in the Rover app at our requested interval and managing a complication very professionally. When we had a leak spring up, Chadd contacted us promptly and worked with one of our family members to facilitate repairs. The dogs were clearly well-loved and received appropriate food and exercise in our absence. The house was perfectly clean and he even took care of washing the bedding. I highly recommend Chadd and plan to book with him again in the future.”

“Santiago was very flexible and available when I needed a last minute booking for a sitting. Zoey had a great visit and was well taken care of. Santiago made sure to have my place spick and span when I arrived home after a long day of travel and emotional weekend with my family. Most certainly would book again!”

“This was our first time using Connie. She stayed at our house over the weekend with our Bernese Mountain Dog pup while we were out of town. We received lots of photos and updates, which was so wonderful! Connie kept us updated on how Boken was doing daily and left the place looking exactly as we'd left it. We were super happy!”

“Chris takes great care of my sweet Henry and my home. I came home to a happy and healthy pup, knowing he got lots of love and attention while I was away.”

“Matthew was wonderful with my pup and kitty, and my home. He is truly gifted with animals, and he gave me complete peace of mind. He sent precious pictures of my babies every day, which I loved! I highly recommend Matthew, and will continue to trust him with my fur babies and my home.”

“Brian helped us out last minute with pet/housesitting. It was a relief to know that our elderly dog was being cared for. House was kept up an Brian even brought a large area rug in for me.”

“We have 2 very different doggies and Taylor got to know how to work with both of their needs super quickly. One of our pups has some anxiety, but Taylor helped him feel safe from day one and we came home to find our pups very happy and healthy. We will definitely be asking Taylor if he can help us again!”

About: I’ve been in love with dogs since I can remember, and my favorite type of work/volunteering has always involved them. When I was 15 I started dog sitting for my family friend, I watched and walked little Johnny twice a week for almost 2 years while his mom was out doing errands. After that, I started volunteering at the LoveJoy Foundation, an animal rescue in California. I walked dogs, cleaned crates, and even helped with vaccinations once a week at adoption events! My time at LoveJoy was one of the most rewarding experiences ever, and it taught me how to work with different types of dogs and different behaviors, including neurodivergent and disabled pups. I have a family dog of my own, sweet Montana, who will always be my best friend no matter how far apart we are. Montana is a bit older now, so we mostly enjoy hanging out on the couch together, but in his prior years I loved taking him on hikes, to the dog beach, and really anywhere that I went. I also have a crested gecko named Axel! I’m currently a junior at CU Boulder, so I do have school during the week but only for about 2-3 hours each day, most of the time I’m home to care for a pup! I absolutely love being outside here in Boulder, it’s too beautiful not to be, so walks and adventures are plentiful! I have a large house for your pup to roam around, but if it’s preferred that he stays in a crate during the day I can accommodate that too! My yard isn’t fenced, but we would have a lot of outside time at the park and on walks exploring all corners of Boulder. I do have experience dog sitting in client’s homes, I know that some dogs are probably more comfortable staying in their own home!
The median cost per night for house sitting in Boulder is $55
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Boulder
Quincee was absolutely amazing house sitting for my cat. She sent great updates and photos. When my flight got cancelled she was able to come for an additional visit that was not planned for. She gave my cat lots of love and attention. Overall she was so reliable and a wonderful cat sitter!!

Lana is an amazing dog/house sitter! We have a high maintenance dog with anxiety who has to take a few medications, and my wife was nervous about leaving him with someone we (and he) didn't know. During our meet and greet, Lana put us at ease right away with her calm and confident demeanor. She asked great questions about our dog and home. She gave our dog attention but wasn't pushy about connecting with him right away, and she said she was comfortable and experienced with administering medications. During our vacation, Lana sent us photos of our dog daily. He sure seemed happy hanging out with her! Lana communicated with us about him as needed, including asking about a potential health issue. Fortunately, nothing was wrong, but we appreciated that she was paying attention and making sure everything was OK. When we returned from our vacation, our home was tidy, our plants looked healthy, and our dog was happy. We highly recommend Lana!

John is a fantastic Housesitter!! Super prompt communicator, daily pictures of our two cats and doggo, and left our house very tidy. He is conscientious, reaching out if he needed things and letting me know when our washer started to leak after a valve broke. A wonderful, kind housesitter, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him or book with him again!

Becca provided exceptional care for our dog Pepper while we were away. She was able to create a special bond with her in such a short amount of time despite Pepper’s shy nature. She kept us well informed with pictures and notes. And she also looked after our plants and home as well. I would highly recommend Becca

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Boulder walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Boulder maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Boulder choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
