Chadd took great care of our dogs during our two week trip, providing regular updates in the Rover app at our requested interval and managing a complication very professionally. When we had a leak spring up, Chadd contacted us promptly and worked with one of our family members to facilitate repairs. The dogs were clearly well-loved and received appropriate food and exercise in our absence. The house was perfectly clean and he even took care of washing the bedding. I highly recommend Chadd and plan to book with him again in the future.

Santiago was very flexible and available when I needed a last minute booking for a sitting. Zoey had a great visit and was well taken care of. Santiago made sure to have my place spick and span when I arrived home after a long day of travel and emotional weekend with my family. Most certainly would book again!

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and they’ve been a huge part of my family. I lost my dog to cancer last year and am looking for opportunities to spend more time with pups. Tell me what you need and I will be there! I’ve watched 5 dogs at once before and have watched all breeds of dogs from a dachshund-yorkie to a St. bernadoodle. I work seasonally and will be providing pet care part time as I go into my off-season. I will be working part time at a bakery as well, so I am able to provide care overnight and before and after shifts. I am not allowed pets in my current housing, so I will be watching your pet in your home. I am very responsible and respect all boundaries set. I have house sit for 8 years and am very cognizant of your personal space and caring for your home as well as your pets.

We had a great experience having August stay on our ranch with our critters. Super responsible and like other reviews, going a step beyond by cleaning up the house. He takes his job seriously and makes sure you know everything is going well while you are away. We feel like we would be able to leave things in his hands even for a longer trip hopefully in the future. Even the barn cat was happy:-)

This flexible schedule allows me to accommodate a variety of pet care needs and ensure your pets receive the attention and care they deserve. I ensure that all areas are pet-proofed, provide secure feeding and play environments, and adhere to any specific care instructions you provide. Regular communication with you helps me stay updated on any changes or concerns, while my attentive approach ensures that your pets are safe, comfortable, and well-cared for throughout my time with them.

About: Hi! I love dog sitting, and I look forward giving your dog all the care, exercise, and attention they deserve while you are away. My dog Tommy and I love making new friends and we look forward to meeting your dog soon! I have had dogs for 10 years and have spent many years dog sitting on Rover and for friends as well as fostering dogs for animal rescue organizations. I love to go for walks and spend as much time with the dogs as possible. I can adapt to any exercise requirements your dog may have. I spent many hours training my dog as a puppy so I know how important maintaining good habits are. I am happy to maintain any structure you use at home for your dog and to maintain the training you have given them. My dog Tommy is half lab half golden. He is very friendly and likes to have friends around. Tommy and I offer house sitting in your home as well. He is very polite and good in the house! Please reach out with any questions you may have. I do require a meet and greet prior to booking. I take my dog for walks in the morning and evening with a bathroom break in the middle of the day. We also incorporate playing and training and sometimes walk on local trails or go for hikes. I abide by any rules your dog follows when they are with you. My dog is free to go anywhere in the house during the day (although he usually hangs out with me!), and he stays in my room while I am out of the house.

We could not have been more pleased with Zach's care for our dogs while we were out of town for five days. He was very attentive to their food and exercise needs and kept us posted with updates and photos several times a day. By the end of Zach's stay, he and our dogs had clearly bonded. In addition, Zach took good care of our plants, and we returned to find the house clean and tidy.

About: I have owned dogs my entire life, I have plenty of experience with cats, and I have pet sit for numerous friends and family in the past. I am a huge animal lover and I am confident handling pets of any age or size. I am a recent graduate of CU Boulder with some extra time to kill before I head off to graduate school this fall, and I would love to spend it with your pet! I have full availability this summer while I wait to attend medical school in the fall. My schedule is very flexible and can accommodate a wide range of needs and time constraints. Overnights, late night check ins, and walks in the middle of the day are no problem! My only limitation is that I am not able to offer boarding at my house. My number one priority is maintaining the safety of your pet and your home. Not only will I keep your space tidy and clean, but I will go above and beyond to make sure your pet is happy and healthy. My pets are treated as members of the family, and I will make sure that yours are given the same amount of love.

Carolyn stayed with our 2 dogs for 7 days while we were gone on vacation. She took excellent care of our house and dogs! We met in person at the dog park then again to go over the house and dog instructions. Carolyn also provided 2 updates daily with pics as requested. It means a lot to be able to leave your dog family members in the care of someone else and I felt very comfortable which helped make our vacation more enjoyable. Boomer and Riley hope to have her back for our future trips. Thanks again!

Yolanda was awesome as always! Not the first time we’ve had her. Both my dogs just absolutely love her. Not only does she take care of the dogs, she keeps the house clean as well as washing the bedding before she leaves. She is also a great cook! Left us an homemade apple pie using our apples from our tree! She had fun with that! 😁🤣❤️ You guys need a dog sitter? Book with Yolanda!

FAQs for House Sitting - Wheelman

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Wheelman on Rover is $74.37 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 6,362 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wheelman. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wheelman walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wheelman maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wheelman choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wheelman. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
