“Roxy was a fantastic communicator and took great care of our cat! She went above and beyond cleaning up and leaving everything exactly as we left it. We look forward to using her again!”

“Joanie took great care of our house and our two giant dogs! We would use her again in a heartbeat; we came home to a clean house and happy pups! While we were away, she sent tons of photos and updates which was a wonderful treat!”

“Emily was fantastic! She was communicative and sent photos of my dog while I was away. My dog can be a little particular about whom she decides to like, but within minutes of meeting Emily, she had gone over and sat next to her for pats. Emily left the house neat and clean, too. I felt so comfortable leaving my dog with her and will do so again!”

“Zoe was able to watch Ardbeg for a weekend getaway - jumping in on very short notice. She took fantastic care of Ardbeg and kept us updated with lots of cute photos. We can tell that he had a fabulous time!”

“Kelsey was wonderful with our dogs while we escaped for a weekend away. She kept us appropriately up to date and ensured they got exercise and love. We came home to a clean house and happy, content dogs.”

“Santiago was very flexible and available when I needed a last minute booking for a sitting. Zoey had a great visit and was well taken care of. Santiago made sure to have my place spick and span when I arrived home after a long day of travel and emotional weekend with my family. Most certainly would book again!”

“August did an incredible job taking care of Zula and my house while I was away! He sent a ton of pictures, made sure she got lots of walks, and left my house absolutely spotless. August has been the most communicative dog sitter I’ve ever had and I would 100% use him again in the future. Thanks again!!”

“Mary was very efficient in completing everything we asked her to do, and she took long walks with our high-energy dog, which was essential in keeping her stress low while we were away. She paid close attention to both our cat’s and dog’s behavior and was able to tell when they started warming up to her. Thank you, Mary!”

“Chadd took great care of our dogs during our two week trip, providing regular updates in the Rover app at our requested interval and managing a complication very professionally. When we had a leak spring up, Chadd contacted us promptly and worked with one of our family members to facilitate repairs. The dogs were clearly well-loved and received appropriate food and exercise in our absence. The house was perfectly clean and he even took care of washing the bedding. I highly recommend Chadd and plan to book with him again in the future.”

“We loved working with Patricia every step of the way: she was super communicative, easily picked up on our pups quirks, dramas and sweet spots, sent pictures during our trip and even met us at home to debrief how everything went. It was the first trip we've taken where neither one of us said "I hope everything will be okay" because Patricia was such a good fit that it was obvious it would be. An amazing, worry-free time away for us.”

About: I have had dogs and cats around all my life, along with the occasional hamster or fish. I have had 6 dogs throughout my life of all different breeds. I used to take one of my dogs on long walks with my friends where we’d adventure and explore. Another dog I had loved playing ball more than anything else. He preferred playing in the park to walking. I have also pet sat for a few different people. I have stayed to keep the dog company, taking it outside and playing and watching some tv to keep the dog company for a few hours. I have also taken care of older dogs who needed special care. All around I have had a lot of experience with dogs and I love being around them. I currently have availability in the afternoon and evening on weekdays and weekends, so I have plenty of time to care for your sweet animals. I have experience pet sitting and overnight stays in the pets home, but I do live in an apartment, so boarding with me, unfortunately, is not possible.

“Melisa was awesome staying the weekend at our house with our kitty Oliver! She sent photo updates and took great care of Oliver, he was so happy when we got home. We're happy to have her stay with Oliver again in the near future!”

“So grateful for Brittany helping me out with a 10 week old puppy when I had to take this work trip!! that is a BIG ask and she really came through for us! Luckily my Bosco boy already loves her too!”

“Connie was amazing handling my 3 high strung little dogs. She provided many updates and photos, giving me peace of mind and reassurance that all was well at home. Connie took excellent care of the house and was able to adjust her schedule to accommodate my travel needs. Love Connie for my babies. ♥️♥️”

“Ellie was so patient with our timid, reactive dog, Olive! She asked all the right questions, took time to learn Olive's quirks, and provided lots of great feedback throughout our trip. Being over 5000 miles away and an 8 hour time difference, it was important we had someone we could trust both with our pup as well as our home and Ellie was a perfect fit. Got lots of photos of Olive cuddled up next to her and she even searched the house for Ellie the day after she left. Will definitely use Ellie on another trip!”

“Matt did a great job taking care of our dogs and home. He kept us up to date daily with pictures and texts how the dogs were doing. He was also very responsive to is as well. When we got home, the dogs were happy and well taken care of. We already rebooked Matt for our next trip. I highly recommend.”

“Brian has watched our Siberian cat twice now and been wonderful both times. He sent lots of cute photos of snuggling and playing and the house was spotless. He’s also just a really nice guy. Highly recommended!”

“Bridgett was amazing!!! She communicated with us about how our animals days went and she sent lots of pictures. She took care of our home and plants as well. Bridgett really seems to care about the quality of the service she is providing AND she truly cares for animals. Rare combination these days. We’ll be sure to book her for our future pet needs.”

Mary was great with our two dogs. We had a last minute dog sitter cancellation, and she came to our rescue. One of our dogs is a recent rescue adoption, so she (the dog) has some quirks that we are working out. Mary was very patient with them, and our dogs really loved having her around.

Lauren is great and we will definitely book with her again! She took great care of our bernese mountain dog who can be a bit challenging on walks and likes lots of attention, was always very responsive and sent us updates, and also was a great houseguest. Thanks Lauren!

Kelsey watched our 2 little pups over a holiday break and watched our apartment - and we came home to happy dogs! Over the moon with her care. She's unbelievably attentive and kind and our dogs fell for her upon their first meeting. Thank you! Highly recommend Kelsey.

First of all, I enjoyed getting to know Kelly a bit. She's a great communicator and went over all the details before we left on our trip. She kept us informed about our dog and.......sent great photos. When we returned home our house was clean and actually had a zen feeling about it. Thank you Kelly!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Niwot walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Niwot maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Niwot choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Niwot. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
