“Dani was fantastic! Communicative before and during her stay, provided updates about how our pup was doing (he's a puppy and this was our first time away from him), and sent photos. We will definitely be booking with her again.”

“Kayli was phenomenal! She cared for our pup as if he was her own! Appreciated the daily updates, even if I did not see them immediately. Highly recommended and would rebook again!”

“Roxy was a fantastic communicator and took great care of our cat! She went above and beyond cleaning up and leaving everything exactly as we left it. We look forward to using her again!”

“Stephanie and Dominic are amazing sitters! Highly recommended! They provide loving care to our greyhounds while we are away including affection, feedings and playtime. They are kind, punctual, flexible and great listeners and communicators. Our dogs love and trust them and so do we.”

“Hanna took such great care of our dogs while we were away. She kept us updated with messages and photos, which made it easy to relax and enjoy our trip knowing they were safe and happy at home. She was thoughtful, dependable, and clearly cares about the animals she looks after. We never had to worry about them for a moment. We are incredibly grateful for her help and would happily have her watch our dogs again.”

“Krista was absolutely amazing! My cat was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, and I am currently figuring out which medication works for her and making sure she eats enough. I was a bit nervous to leave for a trip during this time. Krista was the best cat sitter I could have asked for. She was extremely communicative, sent tons of photos and videos, and even made a daily log about my cat’s meal times, medication timing, and how she was doing each day. I would rebook with her and recommend her in a heartbeat.”

“Emily was fantastic! She was communicative and sent photos of my dog while I was away. My dog can be a little particular about whom she decides to like, but within minutes of meeting Emily, she had gone over and sat next to her for pats. Emily left the house neat and clean, too. I felt so comfortable leaving my dog with her and will do so again!”

“Odie loves his time with Jessica. This is the second time that she kept him and everything went smoothly. Up front communication was simple and I received lots of photo and video updates throughout the stay. The house was clean and Odie was happy when I returned.”

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life, and caring for them comes naturally to me. Back home in Turkey, I had my own pets, I took care of my friends pets while they were on vacation. I regularly looked after stray cats and dogs; feeding them, giving them water, and making sure they felt safe. I truly enjoy spending time with pets and treating them with love and patience as if they were my own♥️ i'm currently working as a teacher during the weekdays 7:30am to 4:30pm i would love to fill out the rest of my time with spending time with pets!! i am fully available weekends as long as i'm not working, i will try to fit into your and your pets schedule. you can tell me what are your pets needs and what they love, i will always try to show up with them happily
“If you find a sitter on Rover who TRULY cares for and loves your animals… KEEP SUPPORTING THEM. Ryder is just amazing with our anxious dog and very attention-demanding cats. We are super grateful to have found him.”

“Jessica is absolutely great!!! She loves animals SO much and immediately made my cat and dog feel comfortable and loved. I felt completely confident that she would take good care of my furkids and my home, and she went above and beyond. Jessica is friendly, flexible, and knows a lot about animals. You and your pets will be happy when you choose to have Jessica take care of everything when you are away.”

“Hunter was great! This was our first time with Hunter for 6 days and it was so reassuring to have him with our pup. He was responsive and sent updates with daily pics even when we were out of service. The house was spotless when we came home too. We will definitely be recurring customers.”

“Santiago watched our dog Daisy for the first time and yet it felt as if we had known him for a long time. He was wonderful with Daisy as we could see from the many photos he sent to keep us informed every day. He fulfilled all of our requests regarding food, walks, plant watering. Our house was in excellent condition. He even laundered the sheets and re made the bed. That sure is a bonus at the end of a trip. Because I felt so comfortable on meeting Santi, I booked him for another stay before he had come the first time. It is so wonderful to leave a beloved pet with a light hearted and confident feeling as we did with Santi. Daisy seemed to thrive on his watch. We all look forward to his next stay.”

“Mariah and Dani stayed at our house for a long stay and did an amazing job. We got pictures daily of our girls which we loved! They gave our special needs dog medication everyday which can be difficult, and everything seemed to go off without a hitch. Our house was so spotless and left nicer than when we went on vacation. They were kind enough to clean the sheets and towels which they didn’t need to do but we so appreciate it! We highly recommend these two as they really made us feel at ease being away from home. We would absolutely love to book them again!”

“This was a 1st time experience for me, leaving a puppy, in a new environment. Matt exceeded my expectations! It was comforting to know my Quin was being so well taken care of. From the get go they connected and it was heartwarming to see how adaptable she was. I couldn’t be more pleased!”

“Christy was amazing! She was good about communicating as we were out of the country. She sent pics of our pup which eased our anxiety. Hands down the best Rover sitter we have had.”

“Kayla was wonderful with our very anxious lab. Lila warmed up to her after only a little while, which is unusual for her. Kayla was communicative and responsive and sent us daily pics. Stephanie and Dominic are amazing sitters! Highly recommended! They provide loving care to our greyhounds while we are away including affection, feedings and playtime. They are kind, punctual, flexible and great listeners and communicators. Our dogs love and trust them and so do we.

I usually rely on family for dog sitting, so letting someone new stay at my house was a big step for me—but Adriana completely erased any anxiety. She came over before the stay for a meet-and-greet, and my dogs took to her instantly! Having her stay at my place was such a relief; she kept me posted with tons of updates and pictures the whole time. It gave me total peace of mind knowing they were in such great hands while I was away. I will definitely be booking her again and couldn't recommend her enough!

Liliana took such good care of our dogs, Roo and Vader! She was very responsive and friendly. She had great attention to detail and always asked us questions when needed. We know that our pups felt safe and cared for as their demeanor was calm and happy when we returned. We will most certainly consider Liliana for future bookings!

Barqs had the absolute best time with Ariel! She took him on multiple walks, and every excursion was like his own mini field trip. She kept me updated with messages and photos the entire time and my fuzzy buddy had the biggest smile in each captured moment. Ariel has a calming presence that helped put my anxious pup at ease. We will definitely be using her services again!

Kelsey was very personable and came over a couple of times to get to know our husky Zeek. We left town for 4 days knowing he was in good hands. She even sent us a photo every day! We were very pleased with Kelsey and would look forward to having her in our home again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Erie on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Erie walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Erie maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Erie choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
