“Hanna took such great care of our dogs while we were away. She kept us updated with messages and photos, which made it easy to relax and enjoy our trip knowing they were safe and happy at home. She was thoughtful, dependable, and clearly cares about the animals she looks after. We never had to worry about them for a moment. We are incredibly grateful for her help and would happily have her watch our dogs again.”

“Kayli went above and beyond and made my dogs feel safe and comfortable. She is a great sitter and I definitely trust my dogs are well taken care of with her. She sent lots of pictures throughout and checked in a bunch which was really nice. 😊”

About: Taking care of and training my dogs has been a vital part of my growing up and there is nothing more fulfilling than gaining the love from animals I am a college student home for the summer and have nothing but time to take care of other’s furry loved ones, my availability is open to the needs of the animals I have had dogs my whole life which has made me very aware of what is safe and not safe for dogs, I am also very good at following the directions from the owners of animals as they know what is best for their pets and what is normal and not normal. Many animals also have routines they follow and I believe following those routines helps keep a normalcy for when they are out of their normal.
“Jessica is absolutely great!!! She loves animals SO much and immediately made my cat and dog feel comfortable and loved. I felt completely confident that she would take good care of my furkids and my home, and she went above and beyond. Jessica is friendly, flexible, and knows a lot about animals. You and your pets will be happy when you choose to have Jessica take care of everything when you are away.”

“You can’t find a better sitter. Stunning communication. Bazillion photo updates. Truly went above and beyond. Highly recommend Krista and I’ll definitely be requesting her again!”

“Emily was fantastic! She was communicative and sent photos of my dog while I was away. My dog can be a little particular about whom she decides to like, but within minutes of meeting Emily, she had gone over and sat next to her for pats. Emily left the house neat and clean, too. I felt so comfortable leaving my dog with her and will do so again!”

“We traveled for 5 days and Kayla did a wonderful job caring for our Aussie and hedgehog. We received pictures & updates daily. She gave him lots of walks. We came home to a clean house and clean bedding. We would hire her again!”

“Melisa was awesome staying the weekend at our house with our kitty Oliver! She sent photo updates and took great care of Oliver, he was so happy when we got home. We're happy to have her stay with Oliver again in the near future!”

“Jessica cared for our 3 year old Poodle, Demus over a 6 day time in our home. Jessica has cared for Demus several times now and is very consistent with time, communication, treatment of our home and updating us with status while away. We returned home to find a healthy and happy dog. Thank you again, Jessica!”

We also have a big trail next to us for walking needs as well, we look forward to you booking with us Not working right now, so my time is spent at home with the animals fully. I try to stay home as much as possible so I’m fully committed to your dog I have a 3 bedroom spacious double wide trailer where two of the rooms are dog rooms so plenty of room for dogs, we don’t have a “fenced” yard but we have a huge area with a 50 ft lead where we sit on the porch with the dogs while they do their business
“We feel incredibly lucky to have found Hunter! From the very beginning he was professional, friendly, and responsive. He offered to come by beforehand so we could meet and feel comfortable, something we really appreciated. He is truly one of the nicest people we’ve met, and he took exceptional care of our two dogs during our 10-day trip. Hunter went above and beyond in every way. We came home to happy, well-cared for pups and a peaceful house. I can honestly say I’ve never felt so stress-free leaving our dogs and home in someone else’s care. It’s such a relief knowing we have someone we can fully trust. We will absolutely be booking Hunter anytime we go out of town. Highly recommend!”

About: I've loved animals for as long as I can remember. Dogs have been part of my life since I was seven years old, and over the years I've rescued animals, volunteered with pet organizations, and fostered Boston Terriers and Havanese dogs rescued from puppy mills. During the past year and a half, I've cared for dogs, cats, and even chickens through TrustedHousesitters across Colorado, Montana, Wisconsin, and Indiana. I've been entrusted with everything from weekend stays to six-month house sits, and I truly enjoy getting to know each animal's unique personality, routines, and quirks. My goal is to provide pets with a calm, loving, and safe experience while their families are away. Whether we're going for walks, playing, cuddling, or simply keeping each other company, I treat every pet as if they were my own. I also love sending photos and updates so you can feel connected to your furry family members while you're away. I recently settled in Colorado and am excited to make caring for animals my primary focus. In addition to pet care, I also have extensive experience with fascia and bodywork techniques for animals, which has deepened my appreciation for supporting their comfort, mobility, and overall well-being. Pet care is currently one of my main priorities and something I truly enjoy. My schedule is flexible, which allows me to plan my days around the needs of the pets in my care. Whether that means morning walks, playtime, feeding routines, administering medications, or simply providing companionship, I enjoy being present and attentive throughout the day. I work independently and spend a lot of time outdoors, so I especially enjoy incorporating walks, hikes, and quality one-on-one time with dogs into my daily routine. I also appreciate the quieter companionship of cats and enjoy creating a calm, comfortable environment where they can feel safe and cared for while their families are away. When caring for pets in a client's home, my goal is to keep their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I take time to learn each pet's feeding schedule, exercise needs, favorite activities, sleeping habits, and any special instructions so they can feel safe and comfortable while you're away. I treat every home with the same care and respect I would my own and strive to leave it exactly as I found it. I pay close attention to safety during walks, outings, and playtime, and I keep pet parents updated with regular photos and messages for added peace of mind. Whether your pet is energetic and playful, shy and sensitive, or a senior needing extra attention, I adapt my care to their individual personality and needs.
About: Animals have always been a big part of my life, and caring for them comes naturally to me. Back home in Turkey, I had my own pets, I took care of my friends pets while they were on vacation. I regularly looked after stray cats and dogs; feeding them, giving them water, and making sure they felt safe. I truly enjoy spending time with pets and treating them with love and patience as if they were my own♥️ i'm currently working as a teacher during the weekdays 7:30am to 4:30pm i would love to fill out the rest of my time with spending time with pets!! i am fully available weekends as long as i'm not working, i will try to fit into your and your pets schedule. you can tell me what are your pets needs and what they love, i will always try to show up with them happily
“Christy was incredibly responsive, responsible, communicative while we were away, kind to our pup, left the place as nice as she found it, and we will certainly invite her back to care for our house and dog any time!!! Thank you Christy!”

“We loved working with Patricia every step of the way: she was super communicative, easily picked up on our pups quirks, dramas and sweet spots, sent pictures during our trip and even met us at home to debrief how everything went. It was the first trip we've taken where neither one of us said "I hope everything will be okay" because Patricia was such a good fit that it was obvious it would be. An amazing, worry-free time away for us.”

“Santiago was very flexible and available when I needed a last minute booking for a sitting. Zoey had a great visit and was well taken care of. Santiago made sure to have my place spick and span when I arrived home after a long day of travel and emotional weekend with my family. Most certainly would book again!”

Liliana took such good care of our dogs, Roo and Vader! She was very responsive and friendly. She had great attention to detail and always asked us questions when needed. We know that our pups felt safe and cared for as their demeanor was calm and happy when we returned. We will most certainly consider Liliana for future bookings!

Barqs had the absolute best time with Ariel! She took him on multiple walks, and every excursion was like his own mini field trip. She kept me updated with messages and photos the entire time and my fuzzy buddy had the biggest smile in each captured moment. Ariel has a calming presence that helped put my anxious pup at ease. We will definitely be using her services again!

Kelsey was very personable and came over a couple of times to get to know our husky Zeek. We left town for 4 days knowing he was in good hands. She even sent us a photo every day! We were very pleased with Kelsey and would look forward to having her in our home again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Erie on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Erie walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Erie maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Erie choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
