“Dani was fantastic! Communicative before and during her stay, provided updates about how our pup was doing (he's a puppy and this was our first time away from him), and sent photos. We will definitely be booking with her again.”

“Mariah and Dani stayed at our house for a long stay and did an amazing job. We got pictures daily of our girls which we loved! They gave our special needs dog medication everyday which can be difficult, and everything seemed to go off without a hitch. Our house was so spotless and left nicer than when we went on vacation. They were kind enough to clean the sheets and towels which they didn’t need to do but we so appreciate it! We highly recommend these two as they really made us feel at ease being away from home. We would absolutely love to book them again!”

“Violet was such an amazing sitter. She took care of Stella as if she was her own dog. Stella I know was shy at first but then loved hanging out with Violet. Violet followed my instructions very well and was very communicative about how Stella was doing. Definitely will book her again for upcoming trips!”

“Bridgett was amazing!!! She communicated with us about how our animals days went and she sent lots of pictures. She took care of our home and plants as well. Bridgett really seems to care about the quality of the service she is providing AND she truly cares for animals. Rare combination these days. We’ll be sure to book her for our future pet needs.”

“We traveled for 5 days and Kayla did a wonderful job caring for our Aussie and hedgehog. We received pictures & updates daily. She gave him lots of walks. We came home to a clean house and clean bedding. We would hire her again!”

“Hope was so sweet. She followed all directions and even went above and beyond. I would highly recommend her for your fur Angels care. Both of our Angels are special needs, one is anti social and the other is a tripod. Our anti social baby was abused as a baby and had parvo. She had no issues caring for them. Her communication was wonderful.”

“Emily was amazing house sitting for us! She’s so patient with our crazy dogs and left the house in great condition! She was great at providing updates everyday and so easy to get ahold of. We will definitely book with her again!”

“I was impressed that Melisa was able to get my shy cat to come out every time and to play with him. She updated me with pictures and let me know how he is doing. My cat was well taken care of while I was away.”

“Hannah did a great job taking care of our dog. Ty is 13 1/2, deaf and can be anxious. He was calm and content with Hannah. She is very dedicated, responsible and communicates well. We are already booked for more.”
“Jacob takes such great care of my baby. Lenny is a a velcro cat and Jacob is so patient and loving with him. He sends regular updates and photos and is quick to respond to messages. I've already made another booking with him and its just so nice to know my boy is in great hands. Highly recommend booking Jacob!”

About: Taking care of and training my dogs has been a vital part of my growing up and there is nothing more fulfilling than gaining the love from animals I am a college student home for the summer and have nothing but time to take care of other’s furry loved ones, my availability is open to the needs of the animals I have had dogs my whole life which has made me very aware of what is safe and not safe for dogs, I am also very good at following the directions from the owners of animals as they know what is best for their pets and what is normal and not normal. Many animals also have routines they follow and I believe following those routines helps keep a normalcy for when they are out of their normal.
“Kelsey was wonderful with our dogs while we escaped for a weekend away. She kept us appropriately up to date and ensured they got exercise and love. We came home to a clean house and happy, content dogs.”

“Lainie did exactly what was promised. She took care of our dog and cat with care and love. She met with our neighbors while walking Teddy and took time to get to know the the place that Teddy knew as home. She left our home neater than it was when she arrived and both our pets were happy with her company and care. We hope to have her return in the future when we are away.”

“Hunter was great! This was our first time with Hunter for 6 days and it was so reassuring to have him with our pup. He was responsive and sent updates with daily pics even when we were out of service. The house was spotless when we came home too. We will definitely be recurring customers.”

“If you find a sitter on Rover who TRULY cares for and loves your animals… KEEP SUPPORTING THEM. Ryder is just amazing with our anxious dog and very attention-demanding cats. We are super grateful to have found him.”

“We loved working with Patricia every step of the way: she was super communicative, easily picked up on our pups quirks, dramas and sweet spots, sent pictures during our trip and even met us at home to debrief how everything went. It was the first trip we've taken where neither one of us said "I hope everything will be okay" because Patricia was such a good fit that it was obvious it would be. An amazing, worry-free time away for us.”

“Jessica stayed in our home for 6 days to take care of our 4 yr old poodle Demus while we left for vacation. We've had Jessica care for Demus several times now and prior to each booking we prepare a care document detailing any changes. We are very happy with the care Jessica provides and returned home to a happy and healthy Demus. We are so grateful for the care Jessica provides as it allows us to vacation without constant worry. We received regular status updates, pictures, and videos during the booking. Jessica is five stars. Thank you!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dacono walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dacono maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dacono choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dacono. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
