“Yeili was a wonderful sitter to my 3 cats! She gave daily updates and asked questions when she wasn't sure. I appreciate her prompt communication and all the care she showed for them.”

“Danielle is an attentive, kind, communicative professional. My pet experienced an unexpected medical issue during his stay with Danielle. She went above what I would expect for a sitter. She was very concerned and caring for my pet and responded quickly to my texts and phone calls. I would highly recommend Danielle to anyone who needs a caring professional for their pet.”

“Seth is AMAZING!!! He went over and above with care for our two dogs ( one is a 6 mo. old puppy- Whew!), cat, and fish! He was in consistent communication with us, sending photos, even washing dishes and the windows while house sitting!! We already consider him one of the family, and will definitely reach out to him in the future!”

“Sondra did an excellent job handling our sweet mixed breed dog while we were overseas. She maintained good communication despite the time zone differences (Japan) and Ruthie (dog) was clearly well cared for. We look forward to using Sondra at some point in the future.”

“Took great care of my animals and home. Lots of updates throughout the day. Made my vacation stress-free and I returned home to framed photos of my pets. Appreciated the extra effort! Great sitter.”

“Emily was amazing! She made us feel comfortable by providing references before our meet and greet, and was willing to learn how to give our dog daily insulin injections with no prior training. She sent us pics and kept us updated the whole time, and when we missed our flight she was flexible and stayed for two additional nights! Would highly recommend her!”

“Madison was the best ever. This was our first time with a pet sitter and we have 5 animals. She made me feel comfortable the moment I met her. We will definitely hire again and again. Our kiddos loved her!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - East Pleasant View
Tyler was the best house sitter we could have asked for! Our dogs immediately loved him and he made them feel comfortable right away, which is incredible considering how our pups aren’t the best with strangers. He took great care of our house and sent pictures of our pups to us throughout our trip. We will absolutely reach out to him to watch our pups again, we know we can trust him and that their well being is his priority. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

Danielle took excellent care of our pets and our house while we were away. The daily updates with cute pictures and tales of our pets hijinks kept us feeling close. It was clear that she also has a lot of experience with animals. Our dog can push boundaries with new sitters and we really appreciated her ability to enforce established training routines.

Tara was amazing and took such great care of our dogs and our house!! She made time to come the day before our trip to meet the dogs and go over everything which we greatly appreciated. She was very communicative and we felt very safe knowing our home and boys were in good hands!

What can I say about Marty? He was seriously a godsend. We had another cat sitter cancel on us 4 days before we were set to leave the country, and less than an hour after I reached out to Marty he replied that he was available. His communication was warm and professional from the jump. The next day we did a virtual meet and greet and Marty asked great questions. Two days later he was at our house and he was honestly game for any caretaking responsibilities. We have a senior cat who needs medication, two outdoor cats, and a sizeable garden. I felt bad that we were springing so much on Marty, but he didn't flinch at any of it! He took all of it on so gracefully. While we were away, he sent us daily updates and pictures of our 3 cats, and even sent us a video of him watering the garden to ensure he was doing it right. When we got home the house was just as we had left it. Our cats were clearly well taken care of and the garden was in good shape. It felt so secure having someone as trustworthy as Marty caring for our pets and home. We would ask him again 100 times over.

Alicia was wonderful!! Great communication leading up to the dog sitting made us quickly at ease. She immediately got on the floor and started playing with our dog, a quick bond. Are also appreciated the occasional pic while we were out- happy dog ( and sitter). We would definitely recommend and use Alicia again!

Ashleigh is fantastic! She took wonderful care of my kitty and my home while I was away. She took great care of my kitty and my house, and I really appreciated the daily updates and photos. Knowing he was in such good hands gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. I was so happy to book with her again, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.

Bridget took great care of our dog and cat (such great care that I think our dog was disappointed when we came back and suddenly walks got a lot more sporadic). She was terrific with communication and clearly takes her pet and housesitting responsibilities very seriously.

Seth was the best pet sitter we could have asked for! He communicated with us consistently, gave us complete peace of mind while we were away, and truly went above and beyond. When our air conditioner stopped working during 100-degree heat, he stepped in without hesitation to help and made sure everything was taken care of. We are incredibly grateful for his kindness, reliability, and dedication. We would absolutely recommend Seth to anyone looking for an exceptional pet sitter!

Sarah recently watched our two dogs overnight at our house and did a wonderful job. She followed our lengthy and detailed instructions, made our dogs feel very comfortable (they clearly adored her!), and left our house super clean and tidied up for us. Appreciated all the updates and photos while we were away as well. We would recommend her highly and we all will look forward to her next stay. Thank you, Sarah!

Amy was great! She sent updates and pictures every day. I felt so at ease knowing someone kind was with my girl to comfort her during a big storm and all the days I was out of town. My girl was happy when I returned and my home was kept clean and respected as well. Thank you Amy!

We couldn’t have asked for a better house and pet sitter than Davian! Taking care of our home and our trio—our dog, Pepper, and our two indoor cats, Shawn and Milo—is no small task, but he handled everything seamlessly. He kept Pepper happy and well-exercised, made sure Shawn and Milo received plenty of affection, and strictly adhered to everyone's regular routines. His communication was fantastic throughout our trip, sending frequent updates and photos that gave us complete peace of mind. On top of being wonderful with the animals, Davian treated our home with the utmost respect, leaving it spotless and completely secure upon our return. He is reliable, trustworthy, and genuinely caring, making him everything you could want in a sitter. We will definitely be booking Davian again in the future and highly recommend him to anyone looking for top-notch care!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred East Pleasant View walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in East Pleasant View maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Pleasant View choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
