I traveled to Southeast Asia for a couple of weeks for family reasons, and this was the longest we’d ever been apart since I got him at 8 weeks old. Leaving him was incredibly difficult, and I had a lot of concerns about how he would handle being away from me. Susan was patient, understanding, and truly went above and beyond in helping Thor transition. She supported him with eating, socialization, and most importantly, helped him feel safe and loved. She was also incredibly kind and compassionate toward me, understanding how hard it was to be away from Thor for such a long time. We communicated regularly, and she sent photos and updates even though I was on the other side of the planet. She was also very understanding when unexpected travel issues came up. Thor had the opportunity to be around other dogs in a safe, structured, and loving environment, and Susan put so much care and intention into every phase of his adjustment. When I picked him up after two weeks, he was happy, calm, and there have been no behavioral challenges since coming home. I truly can’t say enough wonderful things about having “Aunty” Susan as Thor’s caretaker.”

“I had a last-minute engagement come up with my son who was visiting from out of town, and since my dog, Stanley, suffers from separation anxiety and can no longer be left alone at my townhouse, I urgently needed to find care. I'm so grateful this gentleman was available on short notice to help out. Stanley has pretty severe anxiety—he tends to cry and whine when I’m gone, which has been frustrating and heartbreaking. We’ve been working closely with his vet and a trainer, trying everything from calming collars and thunder shirts to CBD, leaving an item of my clothing, and even having in-home sitters. Unfortunately, nothing has been a magic fix yet, but we’re continuing to try. That said, Stanley *loves* other people and dogs, and I was relieved to see he came home happy (and hungry!). They even kindly offered him some food when he didn’t want to eat his own, which I really appreciated. When my dinner reservation ran late, he was flexible and understanding about the pick-up time, which I also truly appreciated. Overall, a great experience, especially considering how last-minute and complex Stanley’s care can be. Thank you again!”

If a friend or family member needs help watching their pet, I’m the first to volunteer. When that happens, I make sure to stick to their routines—daily walks, feeding schedules, playtime, and just giving them attention and affection. I also like learning about proper care, training techniques, and how to make a pet's life as happy and healthy as possible. So while I don’t have a dog in my home at the moment, pet care still fits into my life whenever I get the chance—and when the time is right, I definitely plan on having one of my own. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat them like they’re my own—with love, patience, and consistency. I always start by learning the pet’s routine from the owner—feeding times, walk schedules, any medications, and their personality quirks. I stick closely to those routines to help the pet feel safe and comfortable while their owner is away. Whether it's regular walks, playtime, litter box cleaning, or just sitting with a shy animal to help them feel calm, I adapt to whatever the pet needs. I keep the space clean, give fresh food and water, and pay attention to their behavior in case something seems off. Communication is also key—I like to send regular updates and photos so owners know their pet is happy and in good hands. Even though I don’t currently have pets of my own, I take every opportunity to care for others' pets seriously. It’s more than just a service—it’s something I genuinely love doing.
