“We had such a great experience with Rose! She took amazing care of our dogs and kept us updated with pics and messages the whole time, which we really appreciated. Our dogs looked so happy and comfortable with her. Highly recommend!”

“Alicia did an amazing job taking care of our dog! She gave him so much attention and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. We really appreciated the regular updates and adorable pictures she sent, which let us know he was happy and well cared for. It was clear she genuinely cared about him and treated him like one of her own. We would absolutely book with Alicia again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring dog sitter!”

“Carissa took wonderful care of our 2 young kitties while we were away for our wedding weekend and also our overseas honeymoon - 2 weeks in total. She was great about communicating and sending photos, and it felt like our boys were truly loved by her 😊 We knew from her profile and conversations that she had done more dog sitting than cat sitting, but we felt she did a great job of getting to know and connect with our cats while we were away. She snuggled lots with our snuggly boy and “cracked the code” to bond with our other kitty who can be a little feisty and particular 😂 We came home to a clean house and peaceful kitties. Thank you, Carissa - we’d be happy to have you back in the future!”

“Lauren was an incredible sitter for Stella during our honeymoon. We were out of the country and had so much peace of mind and reassurance. She did a great job updating us and we could tell our dog was doing really well, thanks for Lauren. We are so grateful!”

“Nicole did an amazing job watching my 9 w/o puppy and 5 y/o boy for the day. She was very responsive, worked around her schedule to accommodate me and came over to my house the week before for a meet and greet! She sent me a lot of photos and updates which made me feel so much more comfortable the first time leaving my puppy. A puppy is a lot of work and Nicole rose to the task, I would feel comfortable leaving my puppy with her any time. I highly recommend Nicole if you are looking for a reliable, caring and compassionate person to look after your pets.”

“Valeria took excellent care of our two dogs! She was very communicative and our dogs seemed to have a great time with her. She also left our home in great condition, which we really appreciate. We would certainly recommend her and would be happy to have her pet sit for us again.”

“Ashlyn took superb care of our greyhounds and our home. We returned to a clean house and relaxed dogs, not to mention our own significantly reduced stress! She remained unfazed and handily cleaned up after accidents from our excited pee-er. Thank you so much!”

“Amy did a fantastic job taking care of my babies :) she walked Bee, made sure she took her medicine, and gave them both plenty of snuggles. I would absolutely rebook if needed <3”

“Natalie was an incredible sitter, and I can’t recommend her highly enough! She and her pup, June, stayed at my home for an extended weekend while looking after Stanley. Stanley has a few quirks, including being reactive to some dogs and people, and Natalie handled him with confidence, patience, and great judgment. It gave me real peace of mind knowing he was in such capable hands. She also kept me updated throughout the stay with regular photos and messages, which I really appreciated. When I returned home, the house was absolutely spotless it looked like no one had even been there. If you’re looking for someone who is trustworthy, communicative, and genuinely great with dogs, Natalie is fantastic. I would happily have her and June stay with Stanley again!”

“Michael was great and was very helpful in securing a short-notice sitter. He was flexible and able to adapt to my larger pack. Very communicative and was able to accommodate their various needs. I would recommend Michael to anyone looking for a sitter who may have a less typical pet situation.”

“Nice is amazing. Our sweet Jax seemed so comfortable with her, which put us at ease given his age and the fact that we were so far away from home. She sent a bunch of pictures and updates; we never worried once, which was so comforting. Nice treated our home and our dog as if they were hers. Next time we plan a vacation, we’re definitely contacting Nice!”

“Jennifer is the best! So super great. Her reviews are what made me book with her and I’m glad I did. Came home to two happy dogs, three happy cats, three happy goats, three happy chickens, and one very loud happy goose. She also washed bedsheets and generally kept the home in tact with all the animals I have. Thank you thank you Jennifer!!”

“Haley did a great job watching my 4 month old puppy for a few days when I had to be in the office. He was happy and well cared for and she left my house exactly as she found it. I’d recommended her for any of your pet care needs!”

“Hannah is such a great house/cat/pet sitter! She has been to our home 2x now & truly is so easy to work with. She is reliable, so kind, sends tons of photos, super communicative, and clean! You can also tell she really loves animals which is a huge part of why I book her everytime! I really appreciate Hannah! Thank you so much.”

“Margaret was great! She stayed with our two girls for a weekend- one being medically complex and needing medications at specific times. She gave us frequent updates and we knew our girls were in great hands!”

“Gabby was incredibly communicative and took excellent care of my pup! She sent plenty of pictures and updates throughout the night providing peace of mind. Would definitely book again.”

“Jeffery was great with our pets. He sent pictures every day and he let me know how they were doing. Our pup loves him from the first time they met to when Jeffery dropped off the key- Chip was always excited to see him!”

Maxene is AMAZING!! From the meet n greet to the pictures and updates of Koda throughout her 3-night stay was incredible! My dog was super comfortable with her and I felt very comfortable having her in my home and taking care of my pup! She left the place very clean and organized, and even moved our trash can back from the alleyway after trash pick up day. Super trustworthy and easy to communicate with - will definitely be using her again when we Koda needs a pet sitter!!

Jacki was wonderful!! Definitely would recommend her. She was prompt, sent lots of photos and updates which I love and was easy to communicate with. I appreciated her being willing to do a meet and greet and all the dogs immediately loved her. You can tell she really enjoys doing what she does! Thanks so much, Jacki!

Elizabeth is the best! She watched our cat Panda and our dog Marley and was so attentive and kind. She followed our special care instructions (our cat needs medicine and our dog can’t use stairs). She communicated when she would arrive and leave and sent plenty of updates! Overall I was beyond happy and felt at ease while being away. She is really the best 😊
Amira was SO lovely! Our animals really loved her, including our kitty who has never let any other pet sitter snuggle with her! She was attentive and could tell that she cared a lot for our babies! She went above and beyond! Will for sure be using her again soon!!

Erika did a wonderful job with my puppy. She was on time, communicative, sent videos and photos, followed care instructions, and my puppy was so happy to see her. Coordinating with Erika was very simple and she was super accommodating to my requests. I would definitely book her again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Berkley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Berkley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Berkley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Berkley. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
