“My puppy, Coconut, loved hanging out with Taylor! He is a nonstop little ball of energy & she kept him well entertained the entire time. Will definitely be asking her to watch him again!”

“My original Rover was booked due to leaving this last minute in accident and their flexibility, attention to detail and taking the time to video us all before booking really made for a comfortable experience.”

“Lindsay took great care of my cat Kinsley. She followed all instructions and sent me photos and updates after every visit. Kinsley warmed up to Lindsay right away, she got lots of pets and treats. It was clear that my little kitty was very comfortable around her. I would absolutely have Lindsay watch her again.”

“First time using Rover! Amy was very trustworthy and made the time to arrange a visit prior to coming! Our puppy is a handful, however, he was very well taken care of! We loved receiving updates of potty breaks & photos of the drop ins! Thank you, Amy!”

“Maribel was fantastic while looking after our 5 month old kitten. She sent lots of photos that showed how happy and comfortable our kitten was with Maribel. Trustworthy, friendly, and punctual. We’ll be booking Maribel again.”

About: Hi! My name is Emily. I've been around dogs my whole life and grew up with a 140 lb German shepherd/husky named Waldo. Since then I have taken care of animals of friends, family and roommates. I have been an active sitter on Rover since 2020 and have experience with a variety of dogs with a variety of needs! I live in a house with my partner and only take dogs (or cats) from one family at a time. We love to go on long walks and hiking if your pup is capable! I have a fenced in patio so hanging out and sitting in the sun is also encouraged! I accept drop off and pick up times 7:00am-9:00pm I work part-time as a barista and go to school online! Since I only work part-time, I have plenty of time to walk, run, and play with your pets! I live with my partner in a house with a fenced in patio. We don't have any pets of our own. He helps me take care of the dogs when I'm at work and vice versa. Unfortunately, our yard isn't fenced in yet so I like to go on long walks every day with the dogs I care for and hike on the days when I have more free time in my day. If the dogs I'm watching are not very energetic, I like to chill and snuggle with them instead.
“We recently had Noel watch our two cats and she did a fantastic job! She was reliable, communicative, and clearly took great care of them. We came home to two happy, well-loved cats and a tidy space. We'd highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring pet sitter!”

“Rachel was awesome! Very flexible during a long trip of ours, very communicative, and did so well with one of our animals who’s not the easiest to take care of. Would recommend Rachel to anyone! Thank you!!”

“Christina will now and always be our go-to, we needed somebody to feed our cats while we were away and the ease of explaining the setup, having the cats meet her, and overall experience were 10/10. Thank you Christina!”

“Frank does such a great job with our pup. He spends time getting to know your dog and giving them amazing care. He makes me feel so comfortable and we will 100% be utilizing his services again!”

“Ruth took us on last minute and was so gracious. She was amazing to work with and took great care of our dog. We are so thankful for her and would love to have her come again.”

“Victoria was attentive and wonderful! She offered to water our plants on top of checking on our cat for a few days. He was very well taken care of and loved her company 😊”

About: Hi! I'm Alicia. I love animals, and have been around them for most of my life! My older sister has always had a mix of cats and dogs (for the past 25 years), and I previously had a husky mix of my own! He was a very challenging pup that we rescued, who suffered from severe stranger danger and anxiety. As such, my unique pet care experience includes training (positive reinforcement) and raising a dog with significant behavior challenges. I am a stay-at-home mom of a 2 and 4 year old, so I have a very flexible schedule. I just ask that if your fur baby is receiving services in my home, they do well with young children. If you are requesting services for your fur baby in my home, they will have a safe and cozy living area to explore and relax. I love snuggles, so if that's what they want, they will receive plenty! I am also very respectful of schedules and routines, if that's what your fur baby requires. They will also be around my 2 young children, who are very well behaved. I live in a townhome in a safe community with easy access to walking paths, grassy areas, and a dog park. Many of our neighbors have dogs as well, so if your pup is good with other animals, they will have opportunities to play with friends. I love to walk and be outside, so your fur baby will receive plenty of outdoor time. If you are requesting services in your home or dog walking, I am very respectful of other's personal spaces, behavior expectations for their animals, and special requests. I love walking, and I can run as well, if your pup needs to burn off energy.

“So pleased to have had Rachel care for my 2 cats. She was very easy to work and responded quickly to my messages. She came when she was supposed and the cats had nothing but good things to say about her visits. I'd definitely use her again.”

Khaiyajc took amazing attentive care of my senior cat with twice daily visits for her medication and meals. She made sure Athena got love and treats, and sent me detailed notes filled with better pictures than I ever manage to take myself. We highly recommend her!

Jordan did an outstanding job of dropping in on my cat while I was away on vacation. He was timely with communication, took great pics with my Frank (even though he is a bit shy) and followed the care instructions to the letter. Definitely recommend him and will rebook in the future!
Melissa is an absolute gem! She is so kind, communicative, and reliable. Most importantly, she was so sweet and caring with my cat. She’s incredibly thoughtful with her notes, pictures, and videos with each visit. I feel so grateful to have found a sitter like her and will definitely be reaching out to her again!

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
