“Amy was wonderful! Rue was well taken care of and loved spending time with Amy. Amy was great at checking in and sending photos of Rue. She also took wonderful care of our home. Would absolutely ask Amy to watch Rue in the future.”

“April house-sat for me for a week and took great care of my two dogs—they clearly enjoyed having her around. She was also thoughtful and attentive with details around the house; I had an Eldorado water delivery scheduled while I was away, and she made sure the empty bottles were out in time for pickup (which is more than I can say for myself 😅). I would happily book April again.”

“Michaela was prompt with communication and made sure to send several updates throughout the weekend including pics of my boys. It was greatly appreciated! Would absolutely use Michaela again to watch my fur babes!”

“Nice was a pleasure to work with. From the meet and greet through the weekend, she was very communicative and just so sweet with our senior pup. He developed a bit of a GI bug and she hand fed him chicken to make sure he got his pills down. She sent photos and updates each day and left our house tidy. I would definitely recommend working with Nice for your pet care/house sitting needs!”

“Margie did great with our two dogs and cat while my husband and I were out of town. We received regular updates and photos and came home to happy pets and a clean space. We will definitely be repeat clients.”

“Erin is amazing! She was great at communicating updates everyday and sent super cute pictures of our dog. She is very responsive and responsible and I was totally relaxed on vacation knowing she was there. We would definitely book her services again and will recommend to others!”

“Taylor did a great job taking care of our girl while we were out of town for the weekend. She had great communication and sent pictures and updates. Would definitely recommend her!”

“McKenna was wonderful! Not only did she take great care of my two dogs and two cats while we were gone for two weeks, but she also helped coordinate with my landlord while we were gone to get something fixed at the house. Highly recommend!”

“Danielle was great! She took amazing care of our dog Bean while we were gone for a 10 day trip, and she made us feel very at ease. Lots of photo updates, attentive care, and overall just a great experience.”

“Anna was great housesitting Ozzy and Coco! She was timely for meet and greets, sent advance communication, and made sure she thoroughly understood our instructions. Ozzy had stomach issues while she was here, and she took everything in stride! She also got some adorable photos of them!”

“Janelle is hands down the best sitter I’ve had! She completely erases any unease I have about leaving my dog when I have to travel. She communicates frequently and truly knows how to care for my best friend the same way I would. I will (and have) rebook with her again and again!”

“Patricia watched our two crazy dogs for about six days and was great! She communicated daily, sent pics, and the house was in great shape when we got back. She was also open to keeping an eye on our chickens while we were gone which was amazing. Thank you!!”

“Sydney is amazing! Our (rescued) dog is incredibly codependent and naturally anxious, so she does best to have someone with her when my husband and I are gone for an entire day - Sydney helped watched her, and when we came home our pup was nice and relaxed - a fantastic sign that she was well loved! We’ll definitely be booking Sydney again :)”

“Sara was an easygoing and attentive sitter. She provided updates with photos and took good care of our house. Our animals were so relaxed and happy upon our return! Would definitely recommend and request her again.”

“My puppies (Great Danes) absolutely fell in love with Felicity and she was in regular communication about them. I felt very safe and secure knowing my babies were in amazing hands!”

“Sasha was literally incredible. This is the first time I've ever used Rover and I was scared; we've all heard the horror stories about this app, but I am so grateful for Sasha! My dog loves her and I fully trust her with him. If you need a dog sitter, I highly suggest Sasha! 🐾❤️”

Brianne was amazing! Our two pups were very well tended to and cared for, as well as our house and two cats. Brianne was super communicative, sent plenty of pictures, and did a great job sticking to our dogs’ routine and making sure they were comfortable while we were away. If you need a great dog-sitter, ask for Brianne!

Michaela took care of our dogs for the day so we could to spend time with family - she was here right on time, communicative, left the place spotless, sent us updates of the pups throughout the day and took great care of them. When we got back they both seemed like they had a great, playful day. So nice to be able to spend the day away not worrying about them since they were in good hands 😊

This was our first time using Rover and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Edrisa was absolutely wonderful. Our Westie has some separation anxiety so we’re trying to get him comfortable with new people. She had him warmed up to her within a day. Edrisa’s updates and photos throughout the day let me enjoy vacation knowing he was in such great hands. We came home to a clean house exactly as we left it. My husband and I will definitely be spreading the word. We can’t thank her enough and hope she’ll sit for him again!

Jana is absolutely amazing! She made sure all of my dogs were not stressed while we were away! Sent pictures, where it showed that were comfortable and happy. I was very nervous leaving them, but Jana did such an amazing job! I don't travel a lot because of the dogs, but now I feel better about leaving them a few days because I will contact Jana again!

My wife and I have a blind husky who is very shy, Patricia has been patient with her and allowed her to open up on her time. This is the second time we have used Patricia and Kiara looks so much more comfortable every time she sends us a picture! I love how communicative she is and appreciate all the updates we get. A disabled pet can be hard to be away from, but when Patricia watches her we feel very comfortable in knowing she's getting properly taken care of and loved!

Erika did a wonderful job with my puppy. She was on time, communicative, sent videos and photos, followed care instructions, and my puppy was so happy to see her. Coordinating with Erika was very simple and she was super accommodating to my requests. I would definitely book her again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Federal Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Federal Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Federal Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
