She had to help us inject our diabetic kitty with insulin twice a day and was able to do that flawlessly. I highly recommend Erin to anyone for her great services! Thank you again 🤗

Carissa took wonderful care of our 2 young kitties while we were away for our wedding weekend and also our overseas honeymoon - 2 weeks in total. She was great about communicating and sending photos, and it felt like our boys were truly loved by her 😊 We knew from her profile and conversations that she had done more dog sitting than cat sitting, but we felt she did a great job of getting to know and connect with our cats while we were away. She snuggled lots with our snuggly boy and “cracked the code” to bond with our other kitty who can be a little feisty and particular 😂 We came home to a clean house and peaceful kitties. Thank you, Carissa - we’d be happy to have you back in the future!

Alicia is excellent! Watched our dogs over a weekend for us and took them on multiple walks, played with them in our backyard, brushed them, and sent plenty of update of pictures so we could see how much fun they were having with her. We would love to have her watch our pups again the next time we are out of town!

Krista was absolutely amazing! My cat was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, and I am currently figuring out which medication works for her and making sure she eats enough. I was a bit nervous to leave for a trip during this time. Krista was the best cat sitter I could have asked for. She was extremely communicative, sent tons of photos and videos, and even made a daily log about my cat’s meal times, medication timing, and how she was doing each day. I would rebook with her and recommend her in a heartbeat.

About: Hi there! I’m Jana, a reliable, lifelong pet lover with 15+ years of hands-on pet and house sitting experience. I started taking care of neighbors' and family friends' pets when I was 15, and dispite being a full time artist, caring for animals has been a central part of my life. I maintain the upmost respect and care for your furry family members, taking special consideration for their needs and personality. What You Can Expect From Me: Frequent Updates: Daily photos, videos, and quick messages so you never have to wonder how your pet is doing. Respect for Your Home: I leave your space just as clean (or cleaner!) than you left it. Tailored Routines: Strict adherence to your feeding schedules, exercise needs, and house rules. Comfortable with All Personalities: Patient with anxious, reactive, or timid animals. Work/Schedule Flexibility: My primary job allows me days, nights and weekend flexibility to support your family's schedule I’d love to meet you and your pet to see if we’re a great fit. As an artist opening my own studio, my schedule is extremely flexible. Because I work primarily from home and can easily set up my creative work anywhere, pet care seamlessly integrates into my daily life rather than being squeezed around a rigid 9-to-5 job. On a typical day, I am available to provide consistent companionship, regular potty breaks, and structured play sessions throughout the morning, afternoon, and evening. If I'm house sitting, I can easily bring my digital work, laptop, or portable studio projects with me, allowing me to be present in your home for the vast majority of the day. Whether your pet needs mid-day attention, a strict feeding schedule, or simply a quiet co-working buddy while I work on my art, my flexible routine allows me to adapt completely to their needs and keep their normal daily rhythm intact. When caring for pets in their own home, my goal is to keep their daily rhythm as close to normal as possible while providing complete peace of mind for you. I start by strictly following the routine you’ve established—sticking to exact feeding schedules, walk routes, exercise needs, and any specific house rules your pet is used to. With over 10 years of experience with dogs and cats of all ages and temperaments, I take a patient, attentive approach. Whether that means giving an energetic dog active play and long outdoor walks, giving a senior pet gentle attention and extra comfort, or giving a shy cat space until they feel safe, I adapt to what makes your animal most comfortable. I also treat your home with total care and respect. Because I work remotely as an artist, I maintain a quiet, clean, and attentive presence in the house. You can count on daily photo and video updates, open communication, and careful attention to basic household needs like watering plants, bringing in packages, and setting out trash cans. I aim to leave your space just as spotless as you left it—with happy, relaxed pets waiting to greet you when you return.

Hannah was wonderful! She stayed at our home for two weeks and took excellent care of our dog and cat. She was communicative from the very beginning, letting us know her work schedule ahead of time to make sure it would work for our needs. Hannah sent us regular updates and photos, was responsive to our messages, and gave us peace of mind knowing our pets were in good hands. She even washed the sheets before she left, which was thoughtful. We came home to two happy pets. We'd absolutely recommend Hannah to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

About: I have had all kinds of animals from birds, lizards, guinea pig, fish, cats, dogs and rabbits, your pet is more then a pet they are family and here we treat them like family with love and care. At this time I have lots of time to give your family members the time and attention required to help them feel happy and thrive. My wife and I have a blind husky who is very shy, Patricia has been patient with her and allowed her to open up on her time. This is the second time we have used Patricia and Kiara looks so much more comfortable every time she sends us a picture! I love how communicative she is and appreciate all the updates we get. A disabled pet can be hard to be away from, but when Patricia watches her we feel very comfortable in knowing she's getting properly taken care of and loved!

Brandon is the BEST! Our dog sitting hero, our favorite person, and our dog’s favorite person. We unexpectedly had to find a new dog sitter while we were out of the country and Brandon swooped in like our knight in shining armor and saved the day. We truly can’t say enough good things about him. He is communicative, thorough, responsible, detail-oriented, and genuinely loves dogs. Our dog is very anxious and Brandon went above and beyond by carefully administering her medication, keeping a close eye on her, and making sure she stayed safe and comfortable. We are beyond grateful for everything he did and would recommend him without hesitation. THANK YOU, BRANDON!

Miranda is so wonderful I almost want to gatekeep how great she is. She communicated so well with us before even our meet and greet and then confirming before our trip and the day before we were supposed to return. This was very helpful as we were of course super nervous about leaving our babies and overwhelmed with the trip in general. We did choose to board our youngest pup to keep the house less stressful for everyone and we think that was the perfect balance. Miranda was understanding that we had to order more bags for the liter robot and also helped us when we had our poop scoop service come and they needed the dogs contained for their visit. She even wrapped the pups in blankets and watched movies with them when it thundered to keep them calm. Coming home, our dogs were happy to see us but not in distress from our absence like they have been before. Usually they whimper and won’t leave our side for days. This time they were happy to see us but they were also very calm, like they knew they wouldn’t be alone for long. Our only regret is not having the chance to make our home more like a vacation for her while we were on our vacation. 💜

Abby is by far the best sitter we’ve had on the Rover app. She has watched our goldens twice now and both times she has been so professional, kind, and gentle with our dogs. Our dogs got sooo excited to see her the second time she came, remembering her right away. Abby has also been absolutely exceptional with their extra care needs. One of our dogs has separation anxiety, and Abby has been so understanding, soothing her when we leave and reporting on how she did when we return. We are so grateful we found Abby! Thank you for watching our crew!

FAQs for House Sitting - Sherrelwood

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Sherrelwood on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 8,992 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sherrelwood. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sherrelwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sherrelwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sherrelwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sherrelwood. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
