“Amy did a fantastic job taking care of my babies :) she walked Bee, made sure she took her medicine, and gave them both plenty of snuggles. I would absolutely rebook if needed <3”

“Nicole did an amazing job watching my 9 w/o puppy and 5 y/o boy for the day. She was very responsive, worked around her schedule to accommodate me and came over to my house the week before for a meet and greet! She sent me a lot of photos and updates which made me feel so much more comfortable the first time leaving my puppy. A puppy is a lot of work and Nicole rose to the task, I would feel comfortable leaving my puppy with her any time. I highly recommend Nicole if you are looking for a reliable, caring and compassionate person to look after your pets.”

About: I love animals. Cats, Dogs, guinea pigs, and fish. You name it, I think they're cool. I am diligent, trustworthy, and interested in keeping your pet happy. I've had pets of all sorts my entire life. I can understand from an owner's standpoint how relaxing it is to know your pets are in good hands. There's a level of calm that comes from this that I want to provide for your family. I am an independent contractor working from home and running a budding business in small-business financial care. Right now, my schedule is open as I build my business and am between contracts. I can be available on short notice (2-3 weeks' notice for each care contract). My household includes 2 dogs and 2 cats, whom I watch weekly while their pet parents are at work or in class. We go on daily walks and play often.
“Patricia was a wonderful sitter! She watched our two cats while we were out of town. She was able to stay with them the majority of the time which was perfect because they don’t like being left alone for too long. She left our house very clean and was respectful of our belongings! We cannot thank her enough and will be booking with her again!”

“Sam house/pup sit our two dogs while we spent the weekend in the mountains. She was very communicative and made sure that our pups got plenty of play time so that they would nap hard. We were so happy to have found her because sometimes I feel like our pups can be a handful. We can tell she’s very experienced and truly loves caring for doggos.”

“Erin was the best pet sitter we’ve ever had! She kept us updated each day, was patient with our stressed kitty, managed the logistics of an house with multiple animals all with different care needs, and left the house clean at the end of the stay. We will definitely book with her again!”

“We really appreciated Ella’s responsiveness, fastidiousness, and flexibility. Our pooch injured her eye before we left town for the weekend that required additional medicine, a cone, etc. Ella didn’t miss a beat! Our furry companions were well cared for and happy and healthy upon our return home. Can’t ask for much else!”

“Brooke was fantastic. She was quick with her responses, gave daily detailed updates and photos, and did a great job of keeping my dog in her routine. Not only did she take great care of my dog, but also of my home. Brooke went above and beyond and I will definitely be booking her again.”

“Haley took care of our dog, Coco while we were out of state. He was well taken care of and not the friendliest with strangers but that didn’t faze Haley. Highly recommend her!”

“Braelyn was so awesome. She clearly loves animals and took such good care of our house. Everything was clean, bedding was washed, and the dogs seemed so relaxed when we got back. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be booking again :)”

“Lainie did exactly what was promised. She took care of our dog and cat with care and love. She met with our neighbors while walking Teddy and took time to get to know the the place that Teddy knew as home. She left our home neater than it was when she arrived and both our pets were happy with her company and care. We hope to have her return in the future when we are away.”

“Cindy was such a great sitter for our two dogs. She was extremely professional, communicative, and kind. She went above and beyond in several ways and I would highly recommend her.”

“Katelyn is very sweet. Came by for a meet and greet a few days before she stayed over and took care of my 8.5 year old dog, Cooper. She is very gentle and quiet and animals respond well to that. She sent me updates over the weekend on how Cooper was doing. I came home to a happy dog and a neat and tidy place, I would book her again!!”

“April watched my pups for 5 days & did Wonderful. This is our first time leaving them and she kept my mind at ease with daily updates & pictures. I could tell my dogs adored her. Would def recommend her to friends and family as well as book her again in the future!”

“Adyson is truly the best! She is always so kind, professional, and just overall so great with Minni! She always sends really great photos and videos with updates - we just appreciate her so much!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sherrelwood
Katy was a great dog sitter for our two labradoodles. She was warm, attentive, and clearly a genuine animal lover from the moment we met. Her communication was excellent, appreciated her prompt responses. One of my dogs can be shy around strangers, but warmed up to her quickly. I also appreciated how proactive she was when our tree was damaged by the truck; her help with the solutions and the cleanup went above and beyond. I recommend her services to anyone looking for reliable and loving care for their dogs.

Kat was great with our two large dogs (one is a puppy). She left the house in great shape and the dogs seemed happy and well cared for when we got home. She has a real love for animals and you can really tell that she loves taking care of them! We would definitely recommend Kat.

John & Chantal were fantastic. Last minute before we left our dog had to get some pills and a cone from a medical procedure and they took fantastic care of him with pills and keeping us up to date with his healing process. They also doted on our cat and gave them both lots of love and cuddles while we were away.

Maria and Omar were absolutely outstanding- I can not say enough about how wonderful they were with Fitz. They sent detailed updates and pictures every day, and Fitz ran into an emergency issue that Omar worked overtime to resolve with care. He was so amazing with communication and how he handled everything. I am SO grateful. I cannot recommend them enough.

She took excellent care of our dogs, and we couldn't be happier with her service. When we got home, our dogs were incredibly happy and clearly well cared for. She always kept us updated with photos, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. She even took the time to do a meet-and-greet visit beforehand and was very thoughtful and detail-oriented in everything she did. We will definitely hire her again and highly recommend her 100% to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!

Amy was absolutely wonderful! I was able to travel with full peace of mind that our dog and home were in good hands. Amy is so personable and easy to communicate with. You can tell she has a genuine desire to make sure your animals are as happy and healthy as can be. In addition to coming home to a very happy pup, our house was spotless, and garden was well taken care of. I highly recommend Amy for any and all services, and hope to rebook with her in the future!

Anna was absolutely amazing! She took such great care of my anxious dog while I was out of town and kept me constantly updated on how he was doing with tons of photos :) She seemed very trustworthy and capable and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for help to stay at their home and care for their fur babies.
Kim was fantastic! She took great care of our home, 2 dogs, and our cat for a week while we traveled internationally. She communicated well and I felt peace of mind knowing our home and fur family were being taken care of while we were away. Would definitely book again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of June 2026, there are 8,941 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sherrelwood. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sherrelwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sherrelwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sherrelwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
