“Rose was absolutely wonderful! Her communication and updates were perfect. I loved getting pictures of my pup all throughout the day. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for kind and reliable sitter! I will definitely be reaching out to her again in the future.”

“Jenny did a great job watching our little man Rudy! Was responsive, sent plenty of updates, and left our apartment in great condition after her stay. Would love to have her watch Rudy again!”

“Sunnie is stellar! We have a big fam, two dogs and two cats — two are seniors! Sunnie is the most responsible dog sitter and I felt at ease the entire time we were away. We are lucky to have had Sunnie care for our little fam. House was in great shape, animals are happy, we look forward to having Sunnie over again.”

About: Pets have been part of my life for as long as I can remember — I grew up with dogs, cats, bunnies, horses, even reptiles—and owned my own Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/Chihuahua mix. That kind of history means I don’t need time to learn how to read animals; I already know. I petsat and am comfortable with dogs with sensitive needs too. Recently, I pet sat 3 dogs and 2 bunnies over 9 days. Whatever your dog needs — calm reassurance or an energetic playmate — I show up the same way every time: nurturing, attentive, and reliable. I am currently working remote with my marketing background, part-time on my own schedule, so I intentionally stay very flexible seven days per week for petsitting and housesitting. Your pet’s safety and comfort come first, always. I keep a close eye on body language and energy levels so I can adjust to what each needs in the moment — whether that means quiet reassurance for a nervous pup or an active outlet for a high-energy one. I follow feeding schedules, routines, and any care instructions exactly as given, and I’m attentive to details that keep a dog feeling secure in a new environment. You can trust that your dog is in steady, capable hands from drop-off to pickup.
“Adyson is very patient with our puppy! He’s a handful, especially when he doesn’t want to nap, and we appreciate her as we work through his training. Her checkin’s and regular updates help us keep track of his behavior while we are out.”

“Lex was great! She was communicative and sent sweet photos of my kitty. I always do meet and greets in person before booking; she was very attentive and left me at ease. I will definitely have her sit in my home again.”

“Gabrielle was great! She took care of my 19yr old cat who needs meds every 12 hrs, as well as my crazy energy 1yr old doxie and she was great with them both. Sent me pics regularly and took good care of the house while we were gone on our 5 day trip. I will definitely reach out to her again for our next trip and recommend her for anyone looking for overnight stays!”

“Taylor did a fantastic job. Our dogs have never been separated from us and they were content and themselves on our return. The house was the same as we left mail neatly stacked on the counter. Couldn’t ask for more”

“Rachel was a joy to meet and have watch our dogs during the day while we attended a football game here in the Arvada area. She was on time for our meet and greet Friday and seemed very experienced and had a bubbly personality. Our very active dogs accepted her and calmed fairly fast around her. She answered texts quickly, sent pics to update us, and watched over these two from 9-6. We are so glad she was available to sit Zoey and Echo! We definitely recommend her.”

About: Hi there! My name is Jesse and I have been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. I grew up with cats in the home, but always loved going to friends’ homes to play with their pups. I have three years of experience fostering dogs; I find so much joy in helping animals find their forever homes while being able to love and care for them in the meantime. Additionally, I have years of off and on experience volunteering in animal shelters, so I have really seen it all when it comes to furry friends. Personally, I have two cats. Louie is a senior with special needs, and Zelda is a two-year old ball of energy. I deeply understand how invaluable our animals are to us and that they are an integral part of a family. Overall, my goal is to ensure your angel is safe and happy while you’re away. I work in the service industry, so I have a relatively flexible schedule. I am part-time, and I have afternoons and evenings completely free. My day typically starts around 6am-7am, so I am usually up before the sun. I do not have children, so I am able to move my schedule around pretty easily with a couple days notice. I have two very friendly cats, however Zelda tends to take a while to warm up to new people/animals. I live in a quiet, residential neighborhood with safe, walkable streets not too far from a couple of parks with large grassy areas. I respect others’ spaces and treat them the way I would expect anyone to treat my space. I am the kind of sitter that believes you should leave a home better than you found it. I am thorough, detail-oriented, and like to follow directions to the letter. I am an open and efficient communicator, and I appreciate clients that have the same attitude.
“Taylor and Luke watched my two pups while I was away on a 3 day work trip. I usually board, but my older dog has pneumonia so I wanted to make sure he got to stay home, plus he had meds to take. I was updated throughout the trip with lots of photos and updates. They even told me when they would be leaving the house for a little bit but assured me they would be back soon. My two dogs seemed very relaxed and content when I returned! Taylor and Luke even made sure to put out the trash and recycling on trash day, and also washed the sheets and towels they used which was really great and a huge help. Thank you, you two!”

“Amy did a fantastic job taking care of my babies :) she walked Bee, made sure she took her medicine, and gave them both plenty of snuggles. I would absolutely rebook if needed <3”

“Jacki was amazing as usual. My pup is very anxious and nervous but Jacki has the magic touch! Very communicative and lets you know any updates and lots of photos! Very nice to be able to trust a sitter when you’re 5000 miles away and an anxious dog mom like myself! Always rebooking with her!”

“This was our first Rover experience, and Garrett and Anna did an incredible job watching our pups while we were away for vacation. We have quite the rambunctious little teenage puppy and we’re a little worried how he would do, but Garrett had no problem handling his energy! Happy, happy dogs, returned to a clean home, and will 100% be using their services again. Thank you both!!”

“Jeffrey was so caring and sent pictures everyday! Compass really loved him. She would look for him after he left. Definitely recommend him to dog sit! I was worried about leaving my dog for the first time but she was in good hands”

“Hannah was absolutely amazing! I have a rescue dog, so I get very nervous leaving him, but Hannah made me feel so at ease and I was able to enjoy my trip. She sent constant updates, pictures, and Henry was so well cared for. Will use her again!”

“McKenna was wonderful! Not only did she take great care of my two dogs and two cats while we were gone for two weeks, but she also helped coordinate with my landlord while we were gone to get something fixed at the house. Highly recommend!”

Kathaleen was so great to our fur babies while we were away. We have a pretty high maintenance puppy who takes a while to warm up to strangers. She was kind and patient with her and we definitely appreciate that. Our other old man dog and two kitties looked like they had a great weekend - Kathaleen was very communicative and sent lots of photo updates while we were gone 😁 We will 100% book Kathaleen again!

Sydney was WONDERFUL! She treated my babies like her own. I can see how much she truly cares about animals and she was absolutely a surrogate mom to my babies while I was gone. I will always book her for my future sitting needs! She is remarkable. I can’t say enough good things about her!

Courtney was fantastic with our dog and two cats while we were on vacation for a week. She was very communicative and sent daily photos. She took great care of our pets and even understood how to handle one of our more spicy cats! Will absolutely have her over again in the future to watch our pets!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Derby walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Derby maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Derby choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
