“Stephany is kind, professional, and communicates well and promptly. My cat is very picky (what cat isn’t but to the extreme that she will hide for lots of sitters) and loves her. Thank you, Stephany, for always being amazing!”

“Rebecca took care of our dog while we were on Vacation. She did an excellent job taking care of our older dog that takes medication. We will be using her again in the future.”
“Amy was incredibly sweet and took great care of my cat. My cat ran right up to Amy when they first met and immediately loved her. She followed all the instructions perfectly!”

“Jenna and Jason did a wonderful job caring for my sweet dog. They were on time, very kind, and asked all the right questions. My dog can be kind of skiddish, but they made her feel very comfortable. I will absolutely be asking them again to watch our sweet pup.”

About: I’ve mostly only ever helped friends and neighbors with their pets. This is cats, dogs and sometimes plants! Last dog I watched for two weeks was on seizure medication and I was in charge of medication. I follow instructions very well! And ask questions! Looking to help with evening walks or feeding! I work until 3 everyday and love to help people. I don’t have a pet right now so I want to help others with theirs:) I know I’m a stranger. I respect their house and that I’m in their territory. I listen to the client and sometimes just too many updates
“Noel was absolutely amazing, she helped me so much with the extra requests I had and stayed till it was all done, very receptive and kind and I’d totally recommend booking with her!”

“I absolutely would recommend Taylor! She was very nice and respectful of my home, and did a superb job taking care of my pups. Her hours were flexible and she was able to accommodate my needs - even though they were last minute. She’s good with animals and I would certainly trust her to watch them again in the future!”

About: Animal lover alert! I have a deep love and connection for all living things, especially cats and dogs. I currently have three, yes THREE, cats of my own. I grew up with very large dogs, and spent a lot of my free time sitting for friends and family. I have experience with baby animal care, including bottle feeding kittens. I have the patience and steady hand for seniors and animals that require more care. I’m not afraid to administer medication or handle behavioral issues. I am responsible, knowledgeable, and have a keen eye for detail. Above all, I love learning and spending time with pets! My schedule is currently quite flexible during the weekdays, and weekends are open for more involved care. Currently, my part time job allows me to adjust my schedule weekly, sometimes daily, since our work is project based. I have the ability to go on day-of walks or quick drop ins on demand depending on the day and time. Your house, your rules! I can accommodate whatever needs are necessary based on the type of pet you have and how your home is set up. I’m happy to uphold any routine! Special instructions are my speciality.
“Kim was friendly, knowledgeable and generous. I did not have time to make lick mats. She made some! She was available on fairly short notice. My dog was happy when I got home!”

About: I have experience staying overnight in clients’ homes to care for their pets, including senior and sick dogs who need extra love and attention. I always follow the owner’s instructions closely and make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and happy! I’m also happy to host pets in my own home, which is cozy and has a nice backyard for play and fresh air. I’m friendly, reliable, and treat every pet like my own💕💕🐶🐱 I currently am a senior in highschool who's unemployed so that means I have a lot of time! I'm almost always available and there when needed. I have a big fenced yard and do not have any other pets, so no need to worry about conflict with other animals! I treat every home and pet with care and respect and will make sure I keep you updated by sending you update pictures!
“Alyssa has been so amazing with our dogs! She started drop in’s a few times a week to spend time with our dogs while we are at work. She has gone above and beyond to make sure they feel comfortable around her, even bringing treats with her to help them warm up! She updates us regularly and sends lots of pictures to keep our minds at ease. We truly feel better knowing that our doggos get to spend some time with her during the day while we are away!”

About: I love all kinds of animals! I have plenty of experience with older, ill, and/or high maintenance pets. I currently have 2 pups and 1 (very loud) cat at home. Currently in between full time jobs, so my schedule is wide open to walk or care for your cuties! Looking to supplement my income in the best way possible (with cute pets!) 🤩 Our pets get plenty of walks and snuggles. We have 1 indoor cat who loves being picked up and held and 2 rambunctious dogs who love exercise.
“Holy crap! Cassidy is the absolute BEST. Cassidy is the best dog walker we have ever had. Our city sprayed pesticides and Cassidy was able to make the decision to walk out dog not at the park for a few days without us even having to ask. My mind is at such ease when we're away having Cassidy with our dog. What an absolute professional and friggin rock star.”

“Cameo was amazing with our boys! She was always on time, provided a ton of photos and updates, and she was extremely reliable for anything we needed. We will definitely be asking her to do drop ins and dog sitting in the future!”

“This was our first time trying Rover and we are very happy that we did! Lauren did a wonderful job with our dog, Willow. Willow is special needs (rear leg paralysis) and requires extra care, which can be tough to find at a regular boarding facility. We reached out to Lauren on Rover and she was very prompt with her response, which was appreciated as we were scrambling a bit to find care during the holidays. I was a bit apprehensive to use a pet sitter but Lauren was so good about sending check-ins, updates and photos on a daily basis, that it really put my mind at ease. Lauren did a great job, I would highly recommend her as a pet sitter.”

“Alyssa is absolutely wonderful with taking care of my dogs and letting them out while I’m at work on nights! I would Highly recommend her. She is punctual, friendly, and my Dogs love her! If you want someone to trust and is highly reliable, I recommend Alyssa!”
“Grace took the time to come meet the dogs before her first visit. She was attentive to our dogs specific needs and even our dog who is more sensitive to new people took to her quickly. Great communicator and easy to work with!”

“mitch is a darling & my fur babes seem so happy with him! he’s a great communicator and followed instructions for my dog, cat, and home perfectly. also have used him for drop ins on long work days. it’s obvious he really cares about animals.”

Divya did a fantastic job caring for my shy cat! She was patient, took the time to play with her, and helped her feel comfortable while I was away. I really appreciated the regular photo updates, which gave me peace of mind. I would absolutely book Divya again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable cat sitter.

Stephany is kind, reliable, and professional. She cleaned up a litter mess and also just made sure the litter boxes were clean and not just emptied. It’s that extra effort I really appreciate. My cat is also pretty picky, has hidden from a lot of Rovers but she loves Stephany’s kindness!

Jenny really spent time with my cat! I have had other cat sitters (from Rover) who spent 5 or 10 minutes, but Jenny spent 25-30 minutes to give my cat some play time and lots of love. I have a camera on my front door so I know how long the sitter stays. Jenny sent regular updates and was easy to work with.

Laura checked on our cat while we were away during the holidays. Laura is very responsive to all communication. She provided daily updates with pictures (even though our cat is super shy). It was great knowing that someone was checking on him every day. Laura, thank you so much for taking care of Fez!
McKenna took great care of our 2 cats while we were out of town. She fed them, played with them, and gave them attention. She left our house just as clean as when we left and took care of a excited eater's vomit. The cats love having her visit and we know they are in good hands.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Derby. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
