About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my unique background, experience, and commitment to providing thoughtful, individualized care for every animal entrusted to me. I am a prior Military Police Veteran with experience working alongside K9s, which has given me a strong understanding of animal behavior, communication, structure, and the importance of building trust and respect between a pet and their caregiver. While I have specialized experience with dogs, my love and care extend beyond just cats and dogs. I have experience caring for a variety of four legged family members and understand that every animal has their own personality, needs, routines, and ways of communicating. Whether it’s an energetic pup, a senior pet needing extra patience, or another furry companion needing attention and care, I approach each animal with the same compassion, responsibility, and respect. I have experience recognizing body language, understanding different temperaments, reinforcing positive behaviors, and helping pets feel safe and comfortable in new situations. I believe every pet deserves care that is tailored to who they are, whether they need exercise and enrichment, extra companionship, medication support, consistency with routines, or simply someone who will provide love and attention while their family is away. I am also a proud owner of three dogs of my own, which keeps me active and continuously learning about proper exercise, nutrition, routines, and the importance of consistency. Caring for my own pets has strengthened my attention to detail and my commitment to providing the same level of honesty, reliability, and love to every pet entrusted to me. My goal is to give each animal the care, patience, and companionship they deserve while giving owners peace of mind knowing their beloved family members are in capable, caring, and trustworthy hands. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine, so caring for your pet will fit in seamlessly. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to accommodate a variety of routines and timing needs, whether that’s early morning walks, midday potty breaks, or evening care.I enjoy keeping dogs active with daily walks or runs of at least two miles, and I’m happy to tailor the activity level to each dog’s age, energy, and abilities. I also incorporate positive reinforcement training throughout the day, including before, during, and after mealtimes, to help reinforce good manners and build confidence.I have a reliable vehicle equipped with a dog seat cover, so I’m able to take pups on adventures to local dog parks, walking trails, or hiking spots (with owner approval). Most importantly, I’m committed to working with each pet owner’s schedule and preferences to provide consistent, dependable care that keeps both pets and their families happy. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or yours, my goal is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while maintaining the routine they’re used to. I provide companionship for pets with separation anxiety, take dogs on walks to keep them happy and active, feed meals according to your instructions, and make sure they have plenty of attention, playtime, and affection. I’m also happy to clean up any accidents or messes that may happen while you’re away. I take great pride in being clean, organized, and respectful of every home I enter. I’ll treat your home with the same care and attention I give my own, leaving it just as tidy as I found it. I understand how important it is to have peace of mind while you’re away, and I’ll always provide dependable, trustworthy care for both your pets and your home.
“Cassandra is always very responsive to requests and very flexible. We appreciate the photos and lovely messages to keep us updated on how our kitties are doing. Thanks Cassandra!”

“Alyssa has been so amazing with our dogs! She started drop in’s a few times a week to spend time with our dogs while we are at work. She has gone above and beyond to make sure they feel comfortable around her, even bringing treats with her to help them warm up! She updates us regularly and sends lots of pictures to keep our minds at ease. We truly feel better knowing that our doggos get to spend some time with her during the day while we are away!”

About: I've lived in homes with pets of all kinds since early childhood, and love all animals! I have owned two special-needs dogs over the last 15 years, and feel comfortable with challenging pet situations. I tailor my care to the needs and personality of each animal. I'm passionate about making animals feel safe and loved! My children are in school full-day, and my other work consists of odd jobs, so I have lots of flexibility to take care of your animals on a schedule that works for them! I treat every pet and every home like it was my own. I will leave your home in the same condition it was in when I arrived, and give your pet the love and care s/he deserves!

“Stephany is kind, reliable, and professional. She cleaned up a litter mess and also just made sure the litter boxes were clean and not just emptied. It’s that extra effort I really appreciate. My cat is also pretty picky, has hidden from a lot of Rovers but she loves Stephany’s kindness!”

“Izzy was perfect! Great communication from the first moment we reached out to her and throughout the visit, with the per visit updates and photos as well as whenever I reached out directly to ask how things were going. Also just a fun, friendly, and sweet person to take such great care of our Buster! Highly recommend!”

“We’ve booked twice with Miranda and she’s been amazing taking care of our two cats! She’s knowledgeable (one of our cats takes medicine and she’s familiar/comfortable with it), attentive, communicative, and flexible/great to work with. We’re so glad we found her profile when searching for a sitter and will definitely continue booking with her!”

“Alyssa was very sweet and she treated our dog and cat like family. She sent pictures every day while we were gone and kept in touch via text and over the app. We will ask for her personally next time we have the chance!”

“Lex was excellent, she took care of Mr Magnificat and kept us up to date on his behavior and wellbeing. She was very responsive and communicative, it was a great experience working with her”

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover and proud cat mom to two cats of my own! Cats have always felt like my spirit animals, but I truly love connecting with all kinds of animals. Growing up, I had dogs as well as a bearded dragon, rats, a dwarf hamster, and fish, so I’ve always enjoyed the unique personalities and needs that come with caring for different animals. My approach to pet care is gentle, patient, and very respectful of an animal’s boundaries. I believe pets deserve to feel safe and comfortable in their own environment, and I take the time to let them warm up to me rather than forcing interaction. I love getting to know each animal’s individual personality, routines, quirks, and preferences. As a cat mom, I also have hands-on experience with more involved care. I’ve administered oral medications to my cats and have cared for a cat through surgery recovery, including closely following care instructions and keeping a watchful eye for changes in behavior or wellbeing. I’m comfortable being attentive to details and sticking to established routines. I’m currently a graduate student studying to become a couples and family therapist, and I think my schooling has made me especially observant, patient, and attuned to nonverbal communication; which definitely comes in handy with animals! Whether your pet wants a playmate, a calm companion, or simply someone reliable to keep their routine while you’re away, I’ll treat them with the same care and respect I give my own. ≽^•⩊•^≼ I’m currently a graduate student, so my schedule has some built in flexibility. I have classes Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, and occasionally on Friday evening and Saturday. Outside of those times, I am generally flexible and happy to work around your pet’s routine. I can also do evening drop ins on my class days when needed! Safety and trust are really important to me when caring for someone’s pet. I want pets to feel comfortable and secure in their own environment, so I take a calm and respectful approach and let them set the pace when getting to know me. I follow each pet’s routines and care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medications, and any specific preferences or boundaries they have. I am also very respectful of my clients’ homes and treat them as I would my own. I make sure doors are securely closed, keep their space clean and tidy, and pay attention to anything that seems unusual with their pet or environment. My goal is for you to feel confident that your pet and your home are in thoughtful, reliable hands while you’re away.
“April is fantastic! She went above and beyond what we asked of her and maintained excellent communication throughout the entire booking. It gave us real peace of mind knowing our boy was in such good hands. We can’t recommend her enough!”

“Jenna and Jason did a wonderful job caring for my sweet dog. They were on time, very kind, and asked all the right questions. My dog can be kind of skiddish, but they made her feel very comfortable. I will absolutely be asking them again to watch our sweet pup.”

“Amazing! Sarah went above and beyond what I expected. She took extra time with my anxious dogs even though she didn't need to. Thank Sarah for being so good to my fur-babies and look forward to working with you again!”

“Amanda is ANAZING! She is always reliable and the dogs absolutely love her. She is also flexible and always communicates schedule changes. I feel so relieved knowing my dogs are in such good hands and actually loved on and cared for!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Henderson. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
