“Alondra and Diego were incredibly responsive and easy to work with. They agreed to a meet-and-greet and Dio seemed immediately at home with them. We look forward to Dio spending more time with them in the coming months!”

“I cannot recommend this family enough! They have a great house setup and truly treated my dog like a member of their own family. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing my pup was getting plenty of walks and playtime. Now, whenever we pull up to their house, my dog gets so happy and excited to go inside. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our fur baby!”

About: I recently had to say goodbye to my soul dog on 06/09/26. We found each other when I was working at the Longmont Humane Society in college, and I had the honor of spending the next 12 years with the best friend I’d ever know. Now I’d love the opportunity to open up my home to watch new dogs until I am ready to find my soul dog #2. I had my dog Dexter from his age of 4 to the old age of 16. So I have experience with all energy levels of dogs, as well as dogs that need medication and a little extra attention. I work from home, and work for myself so I have a very flexible and accommodating schedule. My previous routine with my dog was 2 walks a day, in the morning and evening. So it would be great to get those walks going again! I have a dog friendly house, with a small but functional backyard and small grassy front yard. I live 2 blocks from City Park, so always happy to go for a lap if that’s up to your dogs liking. Or if they are an around the block and back dog, we love that too. I’ll love your dog like my own. After loosing mine, it would be lovely to hear the pitter patter of a dog roaming around the house, sleeping, and even a little barking.
“Janyssa is amazing! She takes such good care of my little guy during the day. She provides updates throughout the day and lets me know of any concerns. My buddy loves to visit her, and he’s always a happy boy when I pick him up! Thank you Janyssa for caring for my little one!”

“Mackenzie was great!! Super responsive and helped me out last minute. She took great care of Pork Chop and sent me updates all day. Will definitely book again!!!”
“Jacque was wonderful with my senior dog! She sent updates, and when I came to pick Thelma up she was in the best mood. It's very obvious how much Jacque loves dogs and treats them like her own. 10/10 would recommend having her watch your dog!”
“Jason took great care of our puppy Oak while we were moving. He took Oak for multiple walks each day and he kept us updated with pictures throughout the day. Jason was flexible and accommodating with our schedule. Oak seemed very comfortable with Jason. Overall he is a great sitter!”

“Ashley was so great with my 5 month old pup, Rev! Her doggies were super friendly and gentle and got along really well with my energetic boy. When we picked Rev up he was very regulated and tired from playing all day. I really appreciate you Ashley!!”

“Totally loved Ria and her pup Leo. My nervous shelter dog had a happy visit and didn't bolt out the door when it was time to leave. She hung around Ria and was totally calm. Great doggie karma with Ria. We'll be back!”

“Sam is always the best!! Elphege loves going over for daycare and is so well cared for. Sam sends tons of photos and he’s always having a blast in them.”

“Leah was so great with Lilo!! We did a meet and greet with her and Tucker beforehand and it went really well :) They were both so chill! Leah took good care of Lilo and they had a fun day as I could see from the updates/pictures she sent ☺️ Looking forward to the next time Lilo can stay with Leah!”
About: My husband and I were both raised with multiple dogs of varying sizes throughout our lives. Mostly with yorkshire terriers, bichon frises, labs, and collies. We have both done agility training with our dogs in the past & trained at home in basic tasks such as sit, stay, etc. I'm a therapist working from home Monday-Thursday & off Fridays. my partner Chris works in clinic Monday-Friday. Being around animals is a major form of self care for us, so we find it relaxing and fulfilling to care for these family members while you are away. We both have experience administering oral medication and watching special needs dogs as well. We work hard to build relationships with clients and their families in order to build a trusting bond with owners before and after caring for their pets. We also trade lodging for pet care on trusted house sitters as well & absolutely love it. I own my practice & am remote full time, I let my dog out every three hours, sometimes more often if I have less sessions. We have a beautiful reservoir we walk around every morning that’s about 1.75 miles round trip from our front door and back. We are home every few hours on weekends to let dogs out. Pets are allowed to roam throughout our townhome unless otherwise specified by the owner. Pets are allowed on all furniture. We have beard-friendly water bowls on each floor of our home. Our dog sushi is a good mixture of playful but can also be lazy & relaxed. Dogs can be let out hourly.
“Kimber has taken care of our puppy, Lolo, on several occasions (day care and overnight boarding). While away on our family trip, Kimber kept us posted as to how Lolo was doing and sent pictures. We are extremely happy to have found a very caring sitter!!”

“Felicia and Ethan were amazing with our dog Ronald! Would give 6 stars if I could. They were so patient with our dog who is a bit shy around strangers and by the end of the stay he had a big tuckered smile from a long walk and lots of fetch. Their little dog Ellie was also very patient and welcoming to our younger high energy dog.”

“Ashley was awesome! She also gave great feedback as our dog is a puppy. Overall he did great, and she was an awesome dog sitter for him. Definitely will have her sit him again!”

“Krissy was super easy to communicate with and was great with our dog, Daphne! She took her on walks and sent us pictures/updates throughout the day. Daphne was well taken care of and had a fantastic day! We will definitely rebook with Krissy for future pet care needs!”

“Jeff was able to accommodate our last minute booking request. Oats spent 1/2 a day with him and I don’t think he’d want it any other way! Jeff provided great notes, photos, and lots of attention to Oats. We will definitely book again without hesitation! 😊”

ANYSSA WAS GREAT! She sent pictures throughout the day which I loved. Aaron had so much fun and exhausted when I got him home. I would use her again in the future if the need arrises. I felt confident that my little boy was in good hands and didn't worry about him at all. Thank you Anyssa!
We submitted a last-minute request for a daytime booking, and we were so grateful that Clay and Taylor accepted! Rusty had stayed with them a few months ago, so it was great to know the door was open for him to return again :) We needed to drop him off quite early, but they were ok with that, and sent updates throughout the day. It’s comforting to know that Rusty receives such great care and attention, and is able to hang out with Copper. Thank you so much again, Clay and Taylor! :)

As of August 2026, there are 4,541 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Derby. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Derby commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CO ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 4,541 sitters in Derby, 85% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
