Brooklyn did a wonderful job with our Maltese! Actually, most of the work was ours to do as owners, and Brooklyn understands how to explain concepts clearly and help guide owners to make immediate change. We have already seen big improvements, and we are very grateful. Thank you so much!

With Laura, Fling and I learned to communicate with each other so that Fling would be confident in the therapy testing environment. I was stumped and concerned that Fling would not be able to hold the 5 minute down with me out of sight and that would cause her to fail the certification exam. Laura orchestrated situations to build up her confidence that I would return and that she didn't need to go find me. Because of Laura and her wonderful dog whisperer ways, Fling has been a certified therapy dog with BSW hospitals for almost 4 years now!

Sophie is a remarkably skilled and intuitive dog trainer. She brings a rare blend of insight, empathy, and clear communication to her work—both with dogs and with their people. My dog is very wary of strangers, yet Sophie handled him with such patience and respect. She read his body language effortlessly, gave him space when he needed it, and helped him feel safe every step of the way. Her guidance is clear, her ideas are creative, and she always keeps the dog’s wellbeing at the center of everything she does. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.

I had the pleasure of working with Laura when I was in a shelter environment. Laura worked with some of our more aggressive and socially challenged dogs, showing an incredible love for them and a passion for their well-being that is truly unparalleled. She also played a vital role in training new volunteers. One of the most memorable moments was seeing a scared, untouchable dog, who had come to the shelter in a fearful state, transform into a goofy, loving companion. I highly recommend Laura for any dog training services. She has the rare combination of empathy, expertise, and dedication.

Working with Misty was a game changer for our family. She trained our Goldendoodle to be an emotional and diabetic service dog. Benji has been an amazing dog for showing us sign via his paw for blood sugar dropping low about 5-15 minutes before her monitor starts beeping. My daughter has an amazing bond with Benji after Benji being trained with Misty.

Lori was a true blessing helping us with several behavioral issues we had with our two adopted dogs. Our two dogs had very different training needs and Lori worked with our dogs along with us to resolve their behavioral issues. We really appreciated Lori listening to our needs and creating an individualized training plan for both our family and our two dogs.

About: My training approach goes beyond surface-level issues by focusing on the whole dog to address the root of behaviors. I consider body language, routine, environment, exercise, mental stimulation, nutrition, social history, and family dynamics, because real change happens when all factors are addressed. Since it’s tough to remember every detail from each session, I provide detailed notes with purchase links, training reminders, a homework list, and clear instructions developed over hundreds of hours.

Rosa educated us very well on dog behavior and various exercises to train our over-stimulated Chihuahua. Due to our recent move our dog took sometime to adjust to apartment life. Positive reinforcement when inside or when traveling in our car has helped our dog bark less. Rosa is a great pet expert, would recommend!

Dog Training FAQs

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Trainers listing on Rover must be credentialed dog trainers, commit to reward-based training methods, and pass a background check to offer dog training in Arvada.

Reward-based training encourages dogs to offer desired behaviors by reinforcing the behavior with something the dog likes; treats, play, or toys. Reward-based training prioritizes using the least intrusive intervention; it promotes thinking rather than punishing mistakes.

When rewards are used, the likelihood the behavior is repeated increases. The positive connection to the reward results in making learning enjoyable, strengthens the human animal bond and over time leads to consistent desired behaviors.

Training can happen many places — your home, a park, a store, or anywhere else that you and your trainer decide is best for the training you are doing! Many trainers will recommend training in your home. This allows them to observe your dog in their natural environment so they can effectively assess and best help reach your training goals.

Trainers will often mention on their profile where they typically hold training sessions, but you can always contact a trainer to learn more!

If you’re searching for a dog trainer in Arvada for the first time, visit the trainer’s profile and select the Contact button.

If you have an active request or have booked a service with a trainer before, learn more about how to do this in the Rover app or on your computer.

Rover makes it easy to find Arvada dog trainers to provide loving care from their own home. The background-checked, 5-star trainers you can find on Rover will work with you and your dog to build new skills and address behaviors. Dog trainers can work on:

  • Puppy training, adult dog training, agility training, clicker training and advanced training.
  • Behaviors such as barking, leash manners, leash reactivity, house manners, jumping, fearful behavior, anxious behavior, separation distress, recall, biting, chewing, mouthiness, potty training and resource guarding.

Of course! Having a trainer that is the right fit for both you and your pup is an important step to reaching your training goals. We recommend reaching out to any trainer that interests you. Your initial request is not final until both you and the trainer decide you want to move forward with booking.

Also, trainers may offer or require consultations. Make sure to ask trainers so you can make the best decision for you and your pet.

Many trainers on Rover indicate experience in a wide range of behaviors, from puppy training to more advanced behaviors and training types.

Review a trainer’s profile to see if their experience aligns with your needs, and if you have questions, don’t hesitate to contact them to ensure they’re the right trainer for you and your pet.

We get it—sometimes plans change and you may need to cancel your dog training service. You can cancel an upcoming booking directly from the Rover app or your computer, in accordance with your trainer’s cancellation policy.

Note: If your dog trainer requested to cancel this booking, then they need to cancel from their account. Please contact them via Rover Messages.
