I traveled to Southeast Asia for a couple of weeks for family reasons, and this was the longest we’d ever been apart since I got him at 8 weeks old. Leaving him was incredibly difficult, and I had a lot of concerns about how he would handle being away from me. Susan was patient, understanding, and truly went above and beyond in helping Thor transition. She supported him with eating, socialization, and most importantly, helped him feel safe and loved. She was also incredibly kind and compassionate toward me, understanding how hard it was to be away from Thor for such a long time. We communicated regularly, and she sent photos and updates even though I was on the other side of the planet. She was also very understanding when unexpected travel issues came up. Thor had the opportunity to be around other dogs in a safe, structured, and loving environment, and Susan put so much care and intention into every phase of his adjustment. When I picked him up after two weeks, he was happy, calm, and there have been no behavioral challenges since coming home. I truly can’t say enough wonderful things about having “Aunty” Susan as Thor’s caretaker.”

About: My husband and I are extremely active outdoors. We're always walking around our neighborhood, nearby parks, and hiking in the mountains. We love our pets and enjoy spending time with furry friends. We have a super sweet 8 year old Golden Retriever named Walter and a 9 year old sweet Cat named Princess (she also loves dogs). We have experience with most breeds after hosting and caring for Pups on Rover since 2018. During the day, I run a small business and also teach yoga. My schedule is flexible to accommodate your pups schedule. However, I may be gone between 4-6 hours at a time. My husband can also serve as backup for potty breaks if necessary. I’m the only one who would stay overnight if we make arrangements for overnight stays. We've both had pets our whole life of various needs so we will be accommodating to anything you and your pet need! We follow instructions well. We would love to meet you and your pets! I own a small business so I have flexibility with my schedule and work demands. I can be available most days and nights to be with your pet as you may recommend. About: My husband and I dearly miss the company and compassion of our golden retriever and collie. So, missing having a pet around, we have joined Rover as a to be able to extend our warmth to other people's pets. We like to express ourselves to a dog/puppy through cuddling, brushing, belly rubs, and active walks that delight them. We have a third-of-an-acre, fully fenced-in backyard (see our pics!) as well as an array of large public parks within a mile of our house. And we have to mention the nice doggy pool we have added! We are well accustomed to attending to feeding schedules, walking schedules, and hugging time (always). As my husband and I are both at home 24/7, we keep a close eye and ear on the barking and tail wagging, and we don't leave the pet unattended for a minute. We are a couple in midlife who have oodles of time to spend attending to a pet. We have a large fenced-in yard (1/3 acre), a large doggy pool, and multiple city parks within walking distance. Over the past 12 years, we have had our two loving dogs together, and they have trained us well to be attentive to potty breaks, exercise and romping, meal times, occasional snacks, and cuddles.

About: Hello! My name is Jackie and I've been a dog mom for over 20 years. My first pup was a Golden Retriever named Sam and my second is an Aussie named Norman. Long before Rover I would often house/pet sit for friends. I have experience with all ages of dogs. I cared for my good ole boy Sam from puppyhood until he was almost 15. On the other hand, Aussie Norman is high-functioning and anxious dog. He gets along well with other pups and loves playing. I work from home and am able to let dogs out as often as necessary, plus I have a doggie door. We live in a great neighborhood where it is easy to go out for walks. My house has a doggie dog that fits pups up to 80 lbs! It gives them great freedom to move in and out for bathroom breaks as they wish. Although the house is small, it has a large backyard. Norman is a friendly Aussie who loves other dogs, big and small, and would love a play friend. Pups can sit on the couch, just not the beds.

About: I grew up with a beloved lab mix and have been fortunate to have several roommates with dogs, which we communally cared for. It’s impossible for me not to care for and love them as if they were my own. Last year I finally gave into the pull to be a dog parent myself and “successfully” foster failed my 1.5 y/o rescue Lua. About: I've taken care of animals my whole life. My parents bred dogs, we had horses, pigs, cats and chickens. Unfortunately I am allergic to cats so cannot take care them. I started watching my friends and families dogs recently and my kids and I love it and want to invite more into our home❤️ I work full time but I can work from home anytime. “Luke and his wife are the nicest people ever. They have a great set up with plenty of both indoor and outdoor space for dogs to play, but also to have separation, as needed. My dog had a blast staying with them for 5 nights and playing with their dog, Brolie, all day every day for 5 days straight. We will definitely be dropping off our dog here anytime we leave town from now on. Highly recommend!!”

About: As a lifelong animal lover, I’ve had experience caring for dogs and cats (even farm animals) of all sizes, abilities, and needs. I’m patient, attentive, and committed to making every pet feel safe and comfortable. I take the time to understand their routines, preferences, and unique quirks so I can provide care that’s tailored to them. I understand that time away from your loved one can be difficult for both of you. My goal is is to make the process feel as seamless and care-centered as possible so you and your pet to have peace of mind while you’re apart. My schedule is flexible so when watching your pet, they will be the priority. I can work around pet needs and timing to make sure they stick to their normal day-to-day routine and feel as comfy as possible. I live near a great park with plenty of space to roam around or hit a 3-mile loop. There’s grassy yard in the front and plenty of shade in the back - so many opportunities to stretch the legs and hang outside. I can abide by whatever training is best for your pet, and will be attentive to the cue words and rules you require for safe and consistent care. I do have a six-year-old cat who spends most of his waking hours outdoors. He is shy (but friendly) and will usually keep his distance around other animals. (Please no dogs that have a bad history with cats)
