“Laura was a great sitter while we were out of town. We appreciated that she was very punctual, and that she was communicative throughout the stay. Also, the house was spotless when we returned, which is such a nice bonus. We’ve already rebooked with Laura for our next trip! Thank you.”

“Miriam did a fantastic job taking care of goose and Delta. She was reliable, on time, and fantastic with communication. Set my mind at ease while I was away! I would happily refer her to anyone who needs a dog or pet sitter and will definitely be using her again!”

“Emma watched Sadie while we were away for a day. She was communicative when needed, did everything we asked of her, and even stayed a little while extra to comfort Sadie when Sadie was afraid of fireworks going off outside. Sadie was cared for and in good spirits when we returned. We would happily book Emma again!”

“Sheridan took care of all three pups exceptionally well. Her communication is appreciated and she clarifies any questions or concerns readily giving me a great peace of mind.”

About: I’ve been walking my two dogs around downtown for more than 5 years—we know all the best spots! I nursed one of my dogs during surgical recovery and both are technically geriatric at this point, so I have experience with dogs of nearly all ages. Would love to get to know your fur babies! I work remotely downtown so my schedule is fairly flexible. Some days I have no meetings at all! Even when I do, they are few and far between. I generally tend to stay local to Downtown when I’m not working too. Plenty of walks and playtime, always making sure to keep an eye on them so they stay out of trouble. My dogs love to snuggle so we often curl up on the couch with a good show or movie!
“Kun was absolutely amazing staying with our dog while we were out of town for a week. She took excellent care of him and went above and beyond. Kun sent many updates and pictures and also took him on lots of walk. We were able to relax knowing he was in such good hands. Will definitely rebook with Kun again!”

“My dog loved Erica! After she watched him for a weekend, he whimpered when she left. She was very easy to communicate with, sent pictures of my pup, and left the house clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend her!”

“Christine was kind enough to take care of my pup over Christmas while I was away. She communicated so well when she had questions related to my pup or the apartment. She sent me lots of pictures and videos of him while I was away. She kept the apartment nice and clean for me. I highly recommend and will be using her again!”

“Zach was such a blessing to us. He was so understanding and flexible with our needs and our old doggies and kitties love him. He was attentive and thorough with all our millions of instructions for taking care of our geriatric Great Danes with many health issues. He also took care of some things last minute for us that I had forgotten to do. It was such a relief to find someone we could trust to stay with our boys. Thank you Zach ❤️”
“Morgan was so sweet and patient with our pup, who typically experiences some anxiousness. She had the magic touch to make her comfortable. Morgan communicated updates and shared photos, and made sure our girl was safe and happy. We will definitely work with her again!”

About: Hi! I am a pet owner and enthusiast. Since I am a professor, I work from home and have a lot of free time in summers and holidays to hang out with your wonderful dog. I love getting to know a pet’s wants, anticipate their anxieties, and most importantly play! My work requires me to be on-site part time, so I am quite flexible for overnight stays, extra long walks, and boarding at my place with my sheltie Flora. I have a two bedroom apartment with my sweet, spayed sheltie Flora who loves to play and take naps. I am quite active so I would be happy to take your dog on long epic walks.

“Mairead was great with my two little furballs. Like many rescues, they get anxious when I leave. They seemed very calm in the pictures I was sent. I would definitely recommend Mairead and use her again myself!”

“Marissa was great! She saved me after a last minute cancellation. She is very communicative. She sent pictures of my cats constantly and would let me know when she was leaving in and out of the home. It looked like my cats really enjoyed her company and she enjoyed theirs. I would definitely book her again.”
“Kelly was truly an angel!🙏 She came and did a meet and greet super late at night the day before we had to leave for a trip after another sitter had to back out on us. She stayed for a long time and made sure she understood all of the needs of all my geriatric pets and they loved her. She did a fantastic job and did everything I asked her to (which was A LOT!) and gave me so much peace of mind while we were away. Thank you so much Kelly!”
“Michael did an excellent job watching my dog Charlie while I was on a business trip. He catered to my dog's needs and stayed on his medication schedule and routine, which is everything. I definitely will be using Michael as a repeat sitter again and again. He's a great guy and loves animals and it show.”

About: Hi! My name is Jordyn- I am a 34 y/o long time wannabe dog mom who is always being accused of hanging onto her friends animals a liiiittle too long when pet sitting. I adore animals and have many years of personal experience with dogs and cats. I grew up with a Golden and was involved at all aspects of pet care from potty training, walks, feeding, grooming, and vet visits. I now get my animal fix being a pet sitter/dog auntie to my friends pups, and on apps like Rover and Wag, where I have been an active pet caregiver for four plus years. I am very active and usually training for my next half marathon so I can match the energy level of even the most hyper pups, but I also love to netflix and snuggle for our more relaxed animal friends. I do not have official training experience other than past personal pets, but I will always make sure everyone is safe and on their best behavior when we are out in the world. Comfortable with small and large pets. I have a fenced in backyard that makes potty breaks easy, and live near a few of Denvers best parks for easy access to green spaces and walking paths. Highly communicative, emphathetic, and responsible. I was laid off from my remote job in tech this past June and I am intentionally take some time off from the corporate world to re-set the old nervous system and enjoy the summer, which means that I am available to go on walks when mom and and dad are stuck in meetings or are out of town. I have a large, fenced in backyard with plenty of space for running and potty breaks. There are no other animals in the house, so your pet will get all the attention without having to worry about getting along with another dog or cat. I am respectful and responsible with others personal space and will ensure your home is well taken care of and properly locked up when out for walks and errands.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Columbus
Noa was absolutely wonderful! She took such great care of both Koa and Freyja while we were away and gave us so much peace of mind. She sent updates every day with pictures and videos, kept us in the loop on how everyone was doing, and even spent time working on training with Koa. She also went above and beyond when Koa had an upset stomach in the middle of the week and ended up vomiting and having diarrhea. She handled everything, cleaned up after him, and kept us updated, which we really appreciated while being away. When we got home, the house was clean and tidy, and both pets were happy and well cared for. It was obvious that Noa put a lot of effort into taking care of them and our home. We had a great experience with her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful, responsible, and communicative sitter. We will definitely book with her again!

Mikaela was great! Sent lots of pictures and updates while I was away. She was super easy to communicate with, was considerate as a housesitter, and super upfront when Charlie dog got in a room he wasn't supposed to be in. I felt at ease the whole time I was gone. Charlie got fed on time and got walks and plenty of outside time - everything he needed!

Christine was amazing with my dog and three cats! She communicated throughout the entire visit and sent lots of pics and updates. I’m so happy I was able to find someone to stay at my house. I had a great time on my trip knowing the critters were in great hands!

I truly could not recommend Andrea more. She was very communicative and responsive and took such great care of my two cats. She was on time for every meal and gave great updates and pictures. My cats warmed up quickly to her and I didn’t have to worry about them while I was away!

Wow, I can’t say enough about Autumn, she is a genuine good soul and great pet sitter. She did a great job keeping us updated and when we got home we could tell our pets had been well taken care of while we were gone. She was also very respectful of our home and everything was spotless. Thank you Autumn!

Miriam did the best job taking care of our dog while we were out of town. Miriam did a great job communicating, sending photos, updates, and left our home in fantastic condition. We have a senior dog with some anxiety, and Miriam was very experienced and understanding, which truly can’t express how much that’s appreciated. Would rebook with Miriam any time and suggest you to do the same!

Rachel was always in touch, asking questions and updating on what was happening with the fur crew. She had a very sweet and bubbly personality during the meet and greet and rolled with any changes. When I got home, things were neat and orderly; counters were clean and I have a suspicion that she may have vacuumed (which was not required at all, but I appreciated her efforts). I don't take trips often, but the next time I do, I will definitely book Rachel again!

Ashley was great! I was lucky that she was available on short notice. She send pictures regularly and spent lots of time with my girls. This is the first rover sitter I’ve used that when I got home there were ZERO potty accidents or chewed up things. Would definitely use this sitter again.

Reilly was an amazing buddy for our Thunder! He watched our dog and our house over a long weekend, and we couldn't be happier with Reilly. We received updates with pictures of our pup, and he left our house in better shape than he found it. We will absolutely be booking Reilly again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Columbus walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Columbus maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Columbus choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
