“Miriam did the best job taking care of our dog while we were out of town. Miriam did a great job communicating, sending photos, updates, and left our home in fantastic condition. We have a senior dog with some anxiety, and Miriam was very experienced and understanding, which truly can’t express how much that’s appreciated. Would rebook with Miriam any time and suggest you to do the same!”

“Sheridan took care of all three pups exceptionally well. Her communication is appreciated and she clarifies any questions or concerns readily giving me a great peace of mind.”

“Christine was kind enough to take care of my pup over Christmas while I was away. She communicated so well when she had questions related to my pup or the apartment. She sent me lots of pictures and videos of him while I was away. She kept the apartment nice and clean for me. I highly recommend and will be using her again!”

“Bishop did a great job with Murphy! He sent us pictures regularly and I swear Murphy was smiling! It was a complicated schedule and Bishop handled it perfectly giving us great peace of mind. We look forward to using him again.”

“Erica took really good care of our animals while we were out of town. She sent us pictures and updated us daily. She also did an amazing job on giving our cat his medications. Would recommend and book again.”

“Emma watched Sadie while we were away for a day. She was communicative when needed, did everything we asked of her, and even stayed a little while extra to comfort Sadie when Sadie was afraid of fireworks going off outside. Sadie was cared for and in good spirits when we returned. We would happily book Emma again!”

“Patricia took great care of our dog (and our house!) during our trip out of town. She sent us lots of great updates so we knew all was well at home 🙂. We are so happy to have found her and look forward to working with her again in the near future!!”

“Cody did a great job trying to win over our three very anxious pups while we were away for a week. He was very patient with them and eventually convinced them he was a friend! Excellent job!”

“Zach was such a blessing to us. He was so understanding and flexible with our needs and our old doggies and kitties love him. He was attentive and thorough with all our millions of instructions for taking care of our geriatric Great Danes with many health issues. He also took care of some things last minute for us that I had forgotten to do. It was such a relief to find someone we could trust to stay with our boys. Thank you Zach ❤️”
“Kun was absolutely amazing staying with our dog while we were out of town for a week. She took excellent care of him and went above and beyond. Kun sent many updates and pictures and also took him on lots of walk. We were able to relax knowing he was in such good hands. Will definitely rebook with Kun again!”

“Melanie did a fantastic job watching our cats! She was very attentive to our cat who requires special care as well as our more skittish cat, and sent lots of updates and photos. It was so easy to communicate with her and she did a wonderful job with everything. Our place was spotless when we returned. Will definitely book with her again!”
About: Hi!🫶🏼 I Would love to help care for your animals in any capacity. I have extensive experience with animals and have worked at a dog boarding kennel in the past in addition to growing up with pets. I have worked with aggressive dogs and am comfortable reading a dog’s cues to prevent escalation. I currently have a Bernese mountain dog who is always down for a play date and a cat who tolerates her antics haha. Bonus- I’m an ER nurse, far from a vet tech, but good for med admin if needed! With that, I do work 3 shifts a week(12 hours) that vary. So while my schedule can be sporadic, it can also be very open! I work full time 3 days a week and use rover sitters myself for those days. My schedule varies, but I am great for last minute needs as long as I’m not working! I try to stick to your pet’s routine and rules! I am also very good at recognizing body language/behaviors and therefore can prevent “incidents” from occurring like aggression on walks. I’m also happy to bring along my Berner for a play date if you’d like!
“Morgan was so sweet and patient with our pup, who typically experiences some anxiousness. She had the magic touch to make her comfortable. Morgan communicated updates and shared photos, and made sure our girl was safe and happy. We will definitely work with her again!”

About: I’ve had dogs all throughout my life, and raised/trained most of them from 8 weeks onwards. I frequently watch my friends’ pets, cats, dogs, you name it. I love both cats and dogs, and I want my own kitty soon, but seeing as I have a giant Cane Corso at home, a cat isn’t really in the cards for me right now— which is why I’m looking to get my kitty fix by lending you a helping hand! I work from home, 100% remote, so my schedule is pretty flexible, and as long as I have my laptop, I can pretty much work from anywhere. Unfortunately, due to having a giant Cane Corso in my own home, I cannot host your pet. My dog is a big baby at heart, but he’s not a big fan of strangers and is territorial of his space. I live with my fiancé, so we take turns letting our dog out for potty/playtime throughout the day when we both work from home. When he’s in the office, I make sure to let our dog out just as much as when we are taking turns. Even though I can’t host, I’m very open to traveling to you and keeping your pet company in a space they know and love. I have plenty of experience taking dogs out for walks, out to potty, and helping them get their energy out in a safe and confined area. When I watch my friends’ cats, I am very on top of making sure they get their playtime/mental stimulation in as well. As long as you let me know what your pet needs in terms of love/affection, playtime, and feeding schedule, I can accommodate!

Wow, I can’t say enough about Autumn, she is a genuine good soul and great pet sitter. She did a great job keeping us updated and when we got home we could tell our pets had been well taken care of while we were gone. She was also very respectful of our home and everything was spotless. Thank you Autumn!

Bishop is a fantastic dog sitter. He was very professional from the very first meeting and he took notes of everything we went over. While we were away, he gave us daily updates on how the stay was going, along with pictures and videos to show us how much fun Nelly was having. He totally spoiled her in all the right ways! I will definitely book with Bishop in the future.
Miriam did the best job taking care of our dog while we were out of town. Miriam did a great job communicating, sending photos, updates, and left our home in fantastic condition. We have a senior dog with some anxiety, and Miriam was very experienced and understanding, which truly can’t express how much that’s appreciated. Would rebook with Miriam any time and suggest you to do the same!

Ashly is great - she sends occasional photo updates so you know your babies are doing great and communicates quickly. She also brought in packages (even big bags of dog food and litter trays we didn’t realize were coming while we were gone) and helped keep an eye on the garden while we were out! She was also flexible with us changing dates when we wanted to get home a night sooner to see the babies!

Reilly was an amazing buddy for our Thunder! He watched our dog and our house over a long weekend, and we couldn't be happier with Reilly. We received updates with pictures of our pup, and he left our house in better shape than he found it. We will absolutely be booking Reilly again.

Ellie was great with Archie. She gave nightly updates and the house was spotless when we came home. She always strips the bed which is much appreciated. She also received Archie’s frozen food delivery and unpacked it into the freezer for us. We came home to a tired pup who was clearly very well cared for. Will book again.

Sophia was wonderful! She was incredibly responsive, communicative, and flexible throughout the entire process. Most importantly, she was so kind and caring with my animals, which gave me real peace of mind. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful sitter.

Bella was amazing for housesitting during my two week trip! This was my first time leaving my dog alone and she made me feel so comfortable. She provided me with daily updates and photos on how he was doing! Was very attentive and nurturing with him! And made sure she asked a lot of questions beforehand so I felt comfortable she was very prepared for things I hadn’t even considered when leaving him. She is amazing with dogs. Cannot recommend her enough!!!

Sandra is the very best. We were gone 23 days and Sandra stayed with my 18 year old cat and gave her exemplary care. We were out of the country and she sent us updates and pictures every 2 days. I would not consider using anyone else. Thank you Sandra you absolutely exceeded my expectations. ❤️

Deanna is the dog walker we've been looking for! She was able to help us last minute and was absolutely amazing. Her communication was perfect, we never wondered how our pups were doing or what services she was providing. She is our new go-to dog walker, and would recommend anybody.

Chelsea was fantastic housesitting! This was the first time leaving my dog with a non-family member for a week, and Chelsea did a great job. She provided updates at least twice a day with pictures, made sure he got plenty of exercise and playtime even with tons of rain during the week, and always made sure to raise even the slightest concern - which lets me know she always had his best interest at the top of mind. I’ll definitely be asking her for future house/pet sitting needs!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Bexley on Rover is $33.3 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bexley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bexley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bexley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
