“Emma watched Sadie while we were away for a day. She was communicative when needed, did everything we asked of her, and even stayed a little while extra to comfort Sadie when Sadie was afraid of fireworks going off outside. Sadie was cared for and in good spirits when we returned. We would happily book Emma again!”

“Sheridan took care of all three pups exceptionally well. Her communication is appreciated and she clarifies any questions or concerns readily giving me a great peace of mind.”

“I cannot say enough kind things about Mallorie! She did a wonderful job taking care of our two dogs (who are not the most social of sorts). She took thorough care of our dogs while we were away for the weekend.”
“Miriam did the best job taking care of our dog while we were out of town. Miriam did a great job communicating, sending photos, updates, and left our home in fantastic condition. We have a senior dog with some anxiety, and Miriam was very experienced and understanding, which truly can’t express how much that’s appreciated. Would rebook with Miriam any time and suggest you to do the same!”

“Lyndsey was an incredible sitter for Lincoln. It was his first time being with a sitter while I was out of town and Lyndsey really did everything to make it a comfortable experience for him. He was happy and exercised when I got home. My place was clean and tidy when I got back too. Thank you so much Lyndsey!”

“Kun was absolutely amazing staying with our dog while we were out of town for a week. She took excellent care of him and went above and beyond. Kun sent many updates and pictures and also took him on lots of walk. We were able to relax knowing he was in such good hands. Will definitely rebook with Kun again!”

“Erica took really good care of our animals while we were out of town. She sent us pictures and updated us daily. She also did an amazing job on giving our cat his medications. Would recommend and book again.”

“Marissa was great! She saved me after a last minute cancellation. She is very communicative. She sent pictures of my cats constantly and would let me know when she was leaving in and out of the home. It looked like my cats really enjoyed her company and she enjoyed theirs. I would definitely book her again.”
“Kylie was great with Scout and provided updates to ease my mind (as this was our first time leaving her at home with a sitter). We will be rebooking Kylie in the future.”

About: I’ve been walking my two dogs around downtown for more than 5 years—we know all the best spots! I nursed one of my dogs during surgical recovery and both are technically geriatric at this point, so I have experience with dogs of nearly all ages. Would love to get to know your fur babies! I work remotely downtown so my schedule is fairly flexible. Some days I have no meetings at all! Even when I do, they are few and far between. I generally tend to stay local to Downtown when I’m not working too. Plenty of walks and playtime, always making sure to keep an eye on them so they stay out of trouble. My dogs love to snuggle so we often curl up on the couch with a good show or movie!
“Caitlyn was outstanding. This was our first time using Rover, and we were definitely a bit nervous leaving our three pets, but she immediately put us at ease. She was great with communication and sent picture updates, which we really appreciated. Both of our dogs and our cat loved having her here, and it was clear they were comfortable and well cared for. We have a senior dog, Wiley, and another dog, Pogo, who has three legs, and Caitlyn was attentive, patient, and wonderful with both of them. We couldn’t have asked for a better first experience and will absolutely be booking with Caitlyn again. Highly recommend.”

About: As a PhD student with 15+ years of experience, I'm organized, responsible, and committed to providing high-quality care. I have a special knack for connecting with furry family members—whether they're energetic, shy, or somewhere in between. I take the time to learn each dog's unique personality and have been trusted by neighbors, family, friends, and colleagues throughout Columbus, OH and beyond! I work remotely, allowing me ample time for dog walking and pup check-ins. I’m typically available weekdays from 7:30am to 5:30 pm and am happy to extend availability as needed. In addition to keeping pets happy, my #1 goal is to give you peace of mind. With a dog of my own, I understand the importance of attentiveness, care, cleanliness, and timeliness. Whether hosting a play date or going for a midday walk, your pup is safe in Candice’s care!
“Rebecca did an amazing job with our very reactive pup! Our dog is very sweet with humans but is very reactive towards other dogs, making walking her understandably challenging. Rebecca watched her for a week and had no issues during this time. Would definitely recommend!”

I truly could not recommend Andrea more. She was very communicative and responsive and took such great care of my two cats. She was on time for every meal and gave great updates and pictures. My cats warmed up quickly to her and I didn’t have to worry about them while I was away!

Rachel was always in touch, asking questions and updating on what was happening with the fur crew. She had a very sweet and bubbly personality during the meet and greet and rolled with any changes. When I got home, things were neat and orderly; counters were clean and I have a suspicion that she may have vacuumed (which was not required at all, but I appreciated her efforts). I don't take trips often, but the next time I do, I will definitely book Rachel again!

Marissa was great! She saved me after a last minute cancellation. She is very communicative. She sent pictures of my cats constantly and would let me know when she was leaving in and out of the home. It looked like my cats really enjoyed her company and she enjoyed theirs. I would definitely book her again.
Sarah was great watching our two adorable if not anxious and energetic pups! She was great about fitting in a meet and greet and was communicative through the whole process. She was comfortable and great with them both right away and not put off by them as they adjusted to meeting her. Especially our 11 month old puppy. During her two night stay with them she sent photos and updates, and adjusted to accommodate their anxiety the first night when they were confused about where we were. She took them for walks independently and they both looked happy and relaxed in her care! As a first time user of this app, our minds were at ease and we are so glad to have had her and will definitely use her again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Grandview Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Grandview Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Grandview Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
