“Very last minute had availability for us and overall great experience! Great and fast communication and updates with pictures. Will definitely book again ❤️”

About: Hi! I am a pet owner and enthusiast. Since I am a professor, I work from home and have a lot of free time in summers and holidays to hang out with your wonderful dog. I love getting to know a pet’s wants, anticipate their anxieties, and most importantly play! My work requires me to be on-site part time, so I am quite flexible for overnight stays, extra long walks, and boarding at my place with my sheltie Flora. I have a two bedroom apartment with my sweet, spayed sheltie Flora who loves to play and take naps. I am quite active so I would be happy to take your dog on long epic walks.
“Mary was great. Very flexible. Set up a pre-stay meet for our 2 puppies. She offered pickup and drop off. And she sent videos of the dogs playing while they were there. Terrific experience!”

About: I adopted a hound mix from the shelter who was so afraid of the world and has become the most well-adjusted, friendly boy in the world! I also adopted a stray dog in December who has already grown leaps and bounds! I would love to pet sit/dog walk for you and love taking dogs to their own private sniff spots when they spend numerous days with me :) I am pet-sitting full time, so I have all the time to focus on caring for pets :) I am willing to come to your home anytime of day or pet sit in my home, 7 days a week. I have two friendly dogs at home and can watch your pet at home. Otherwise, I am more than happy to pet sit at your home! Dogs stay on leash unless we are at a fenced sniffspot, as approved by owner :)

About: Being a senior makes me old school, like being exactly on time or a bit early. I subscribe to the Dog Whisperer tenet of being ALPHA and pack leader to dogs in my care. A dog in a pack is a happy dog. I only use positive reinforcement. Ex.: dog pulling on the leash can be fixed by changing directions every 4 steps to the left, walking in a square, this encourages the dog to slow down and watch his human. Dog hair is a welcome addition to a life well lived, that's why my dogs get furniture and bed privileges. One fact about my dogs i pay attention to is how many sips of water they take. On a very hot day I've seen 30-40. This helps me know easily how my pet is feeling so I can react accordingly. Maybe time to put the soft Frisbee away! I'm fully retired, and rise early, so morning walks are easy. Breakfast is next, and 1hr later another walk outside. I like to prep a bag to take to the park. My fav is Schiller Park in German Village. I don't own a pet currently, I've had some health issues that are now resolved. Having been an owner twice in my life has given me many many experiences so I am flexible.
“Michelle was fantastic! Reached out on short notice & she happily watched my pup. She was very responsive the whole day, sending pictures and videos with updates. Tucker had a great time, I will certainly be a returning client! Highly suggest to anyone looking for a sitter!”

“Katie was awesome!! Ivy had such a great time she was so excited to go back the next day! She is so caring and loving. With a great yard! We will be seeing her again on our next visit ❤️❤️”

“Shanelle is amazing with Zoey. She is always extremely excited and happy to have a play date with Shanelle’s dog Ray. She keeps us updated with pic and communication is excellent.☺️”
About: I am a dog mom, cat mom and a part time MBA student. My two cats are very well socialized with dogs, and my puppy Suki is absolutely obsessed with other dogs. We live in an apartment in downtown Columbus with plenty of space for a small dog guest. There are small grass patches in my apartment where I can take a dog to potty, they would need to be leashed the entire time. In my spare time, I like to spend time outside walking the scioto mile, and I like to paint. My current daily routine is flexible so I would be able to provide any care necessary. I used to have a senior dog that required a lot of TLC, and now I have a 4 pound puppy with a fast metabolism that also requires TLC for other reasons. suki is partially potty trained, but we do use indoor pads and a live grass patch. It’s OK if your dog is small and pad trained, I have plenty of cleaning supplies to take care of any accidents. I take safety very seriously for all pets. My cat takes a consistent medication every night at 9 PM and we haven’t missed it for the past four years. Also small dogs take a special amount of attention to keep safe.
“Nicole was great! My dog adored her and her dog and excitedly waited by the door in the morning to go to day care while I worked for a few weeks in Manhattan Beach. She was very flexible with timing and accommodating. If I lived nearby I would book with Nicole frequently.”

“Sydney was a huge lifesaver when I needed someone to watch my dog while in town for a few days. She was awesome with my dog Atlas, who’s usually pretty skeptical of new people, and he loved playing with her dog Honey”
“Karla is hands-down the best dog sitter I’ve ever experienced. Her love for dogs is immediately clear in everything she does. She has a spacious backyard that gives the dogs plenty of room to run and play, and her home is always clean, well-kept, and welcoming. What I appreciate most is how she allows dogs be themselves while ensuring a safe, well-managed environment. She pays close attention to group dynamics, making sure all the dogs interact well and play safely. I felt completely at ease leaving Bruno in her care, and that peace of mind is priceless. I would book with Karla again and again without hesitation. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ll make sure they get an opportunity to enjoy themselves when you’re not available, and I’ll make sure their needs are met. You book me, you can trust your pet is taken care of. Flexible schedule. Available weekends upon special request. M-F, 9am to 10am, 12pm to 1pm, 4pm to 5pm are only times available as of right now I have a fenced yard, and two crates available. I prefer to understand the animal and client’s normal routine and proactively plan a meet and greet so the animal becomes familiar with me before further interactions.
About: From my experience growing up on a farm to caring for two dogs and a cat as a young professional, I've developed quite a bit of pet care knowledge and skills. I've cared for puppies and kittens and adult dogs and cat through good times and hard times. Over the years, I've learned a lot and I'm happy to use that experience to care for your's as well. My wife and I both work from home during the week so we have plenty of time for pet care. When our dog Frank was around, we would often go on walks with him and my daughter and visit local parks. Unfortunately, we don't have time to care for puppies or kittens at this stage in life but adult dogs and cats are welcome. We live in downtown Columbus in a single family home with a large fenced yard. We're surrounded by lots of sidewalks and live within walking distance to several parks. In our home, we have a large soft crate for dogs and small crates for cats, if needed. We expect all pets to be potty/house trained and dogs to sleep in a crate overnight. We don't allow dogs on furniture or in beds, but they're welcome throughout the home. Our cat, Cleo, roams the house but will often stay on the 2nd floor when new pet friends stay over. She has been great with new cats and dogs, often warming up to them after a day or two. We also have a 2.5 year old daughter who is home most of the week. She's great with cats and dogs and we expect any pets that stay with us to be comfortable with children.
About: I've grown up with dogs and cats my entire life and love to be around animals. I do not currently have any pets, but I will spoil your animal with lots of play and attention. I always watch my friends and families pets if they go out of town or need a dog walker. I have additional experience with rabbits, chickens, and fish! I can't wait to meet your furry friend! I am currently working from home, so I have a lot of availability to hangout with your pets. Hours that work best: mornings, lunchtime and after 4pm. Feel free to reach out to discuss a schedule that works best for you and your pet! I’m currently living in the Arena District. I currently have no pets and love spoiling all animals with a lot of love and attention. Providing cuddles and lots of play is a must!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Columbus
She was an great sitter. She took great care of my dog and kept me updated while he was with her. When she dropped him off he was completely worn out from all the playing and attention he got. It was obvious he had a great time and was well cared for. I would definitely trust her to watch him again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter. She was flexible with timing even though i was looking for someone only a few days prior.

Annie was wonderful! This was our first time using Rover, and she made it such a great experience. She was very communicative throughout the day, sent lots of pictures and updates, and it was clear that Roger was in great hands. Roger had so much fun with Annie and her dog, Tank—they got along so well! It gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was being so well cared for. We couldn’t have asked for a better first experience and will definitely be booking with Annie again. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter!

Ellen was great! She was ready at the time of drop off and immediately made Kal feel welcome. She sent me pictures to let me know that my pup was doing good. Ellen had all of his things ready to go when I arrived. Her patience with my puppy was exceptional! Kal-El didn't want to get into the car. Highly recommend... I will be back.
Beth has been amazing! She’s been very accommodating with my ever changing schedule. She always makes sure to share pictures of penny throughout the day. Penny loves going to Beth’s house, and enjoys every bit of her stays. I definitely appreciate all Beth’s help with penny throughout our stay in Columbus! Would highly recommend her to anyone needing a sitter! Thank you so much Beth!

This was my first time ever having a dog sitter and Michelle made it such an easy and great experience. Michelle provided lots of pictures and videos and made sure my Aussie got plenty of attention and exercise. I highly recommend Michelle and would definitely leave my dog with her again.

Indie loves her days with Madeline! Madeline treats Indie like she is her own. She is such an amazing sitter and kept up with our potty training and training schedule while Indie was with her since she is still a pup. Indie gets so excited to see Madeline and genuinely loves going to her house and has the best time with her. I 100% recommend Madeline for all of your pet sitting needs!☺️

Kaleigh and Connor were lifesavers! I travel with my pup Rocky for work and it’s always a little nerve wracking to agree to a new situation. I felt totally comfortable leaving Rocky…. and completely convinced the next day when she (uncharacteristically!) bounced into their home and up on the couch with Connor. 🥹 Their pups are sweet little ladies and I wouldn’t hesitate to book them again! Thank you! 🥰

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Columbus commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
