“Our dog can be nervous around new people, but Laken got down on the floor with her and snuggled to make her comfortable. She had her two small dogs who played well with ours. She has a fenced yard and our dog enjoyed running around. We felt like she received good care and looked very comfortable when we picked her up.”

“Extremely reliable & so attentive to the needs of my dog and accommodating our busy life!! I’m endlessly grateful for her and her adorable daughter. They’re our number one go to for dog care in Ohio!!”

“Fantastic experience, very communicative and flexible, sent great pictures of my dog and even a video of her having a great time! Safe neighborhood and clean home, with a fun backyard for the dogs to play in. Cannot recommend them highly enough!”

“Clark had the best the day with Sally! I am so happy I am able to leave my boy with her. She clearly made him feel right at home as he went right to play. What I love the most is that the safety I feel she is giving him and the comfort of his own home. She is offering her place so your dog still feels at home while they are away, and that feels really special. It takes a good person to be able to pull that off.”

“Brian helped us out with short notice when we needed someone to watch our pup Hank for a few hours while we attended an event. He was an excellent communicator and sent so many cute pics! Hank went right to sleep after he got home as he was tired out from playing with his new friends and running around the fenced in yard. Highly recommend Brian. We will definitely be using him again!”

“Ginny always has a great time at Sean’s house. He’s very attentive and has plenty of very good dog friends for Ginny to hang out with. Nice big yard for her to run around in when the weather is nice. Well definitely book with Sean again.”

About: I have extensive experience in geriatric and special needs care. I've given injections, medicine, eye drops, ect. and I'm not afraid to learn more special care for your pet! I'm currently working from home and am able to care for your pet most of the day. We don't travel much and like doing house work/projects so we are home most of the time. We have a fenced in backyard for your dog to run, play, and potty. We have an assortment of dog rope toys and tennis balls, a variety of treat types, a large dog bed, and an XL dog crate if needed.
“Katherine took great care of my pup. She took her on a long walk and even to a stream. I really appreciate the attention and care she provided. Thank you, Katherine!”

“Rommel can be pretty shy around new folks so I am always nervous about introducing him to new people. He also isn’t a very affectionate dog (he only likes being petted when he first wakes up, then he has has enough and doesn’t really want that). When I went to pick him up he was loving all over them. I haven’t seen him warm up to anyone as quickly and as completely as he did here. What a wonderful experience!”

“Jodi was so awesome with my sweet girl. She loved her through a long weekend away from me. Something she's not use to. She sent pictures showing how well she was doing and it made me feel much better to see how well she was doing!! I highly recommend Jodi, she treated Luna as if she was one of her own dogs. I'm forever grateful for that and for putting my mind at ease on how she was doing. You will never regret using Jodi, she's AMAZING!!”

About: Hi there! I’m Awia, and I’ve had around 25 years of experience caring for animals. I’ve shared my life with many wonderful dogs and cats, and I currently have a sweet Pekingese named Peking along with two cats, Lolli and Ashley. They’re all friendly, gentle, and used to having new furry friends around. I’ve also volunteered walking dogs at various animal shelters over the years—animals have always been a huge part of my life. I also have six wonderful children who absolutely adore animals. They’re gentle, respectful, and regularly nominated for Kindness Awards at their school. Your pet will receive extra love, attention, and cuddle sessions from them—helping your furry family member feel right at home. I’m currently working on my nonprofit organization, and during my downtime I’ve chosen to walk dogs and care for animals. It’s such a fun and rewarding way to spend the day—you get to hang out with adorable pups, enjoy some exercise, and soak up the sunshine. I provide a safe, clean, and loving environment for your pets. While I don’t have a fenced-in yard, I’m fortunate to live within a beautiful nature preserve and park system. This means your pup can enjoy walks along scenic, well-maintained paths with plenty of fresh air and minimal street traffic. If boarding, I’ll make sure your dog gets regular, safe walks and plenty of attention, ensuring they feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for. All of my personal pets—Peking, Lolli, and Ashley—are up to date on vaccinations, and are on flea and heartworm prevention medication. For the safety and comfort of all animals, I kindly ask that visiting pets are also clean and flea-free. If a pet arrives needing a bath, I’m happy to provide one, and a pet bath fee will be added to your booking. This ensures a fresh, healthy, and pleasant environment for everyone.
“Alyssa was very responsive, sent lots of pictures/updates and Tucker is nice and tired after a full day of playing! Thank you for taking great care of our little guy!”

I have a senior lab mix & he was trained on an underground fence . The yard is partially fenced in. It's a great space for play time
“First time leaving my dog with anyone. Kyla was awesome. I plan to schedule more daycare days with her so that my dog gets familiar with her, anticipating some overnight boarding in the near future.”

About: UPDATES! Due to my Husbands career change, I will be the main person that will be caring for your animals. He will help if needed or if any dogs come to our home. My husband and I have a lifelong experience with dogs. We both grew up with dogs. I had a Golden Retriever and he had a Labrador Retriever. We have experience with all different types of pups! We are a team and work together to love and care for every dog we care for. We have dedicated ourselves to learning all about dogs, their social behaviors, and how to keep them happy and healthy. My goal is to one day become a professional dog trainer. I guarantee after a day with me and my pup your dog will be happy and tired. :) UPDATE! Our schedule has temporarily changed due to my husband getting a new job. We will still be available for boarding but drop ins and walking will have to be limited to weekday evenings and anytime during the weekend. This will be the case until summer! “Clayton is the perfect sitter. Me and my family came to do a meet and greet. He introduced his dogs to my pup one by one, LOVED that. My pup has anxiety due to being a rescue so that was PERFECT. My pup is a big dog but he is extremely kind and friendly, he just doesn’t know his size so he can be a little rough with smaller animals unintentionally and Clayton was very understanding with that. I love that Clayton works in the veterinary field and I felt 100% comfortable leaving my pup with him. After the meet and greet AND his daycare stay my pup was EXHAUSTED. He got just what he needed, a day full of play and socializing. Thanks again Clayton and family! Blanco says he will see his daycare teachers soon! 🐾”

Jason was amazing with my dog, Chance! He made sure Chance got plenty of walks and exercise, which was especially great since he’s working on losing a little extra weight. 😊 Jason kept me updated throughout the stay with lots of photos and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind. I could tell Chance was well cared for and having a great time. I would absolutely recommend Jason to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter, and I will definitely be booking with him again!

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
