“Alexus was great. First time using rover for us. She came over and met the dogs beforehand and they did great with her. She kept in regular contact and sent us a bunch of pictures. The dogs seem to like her and we will definitely be asking her first if we need anyone in the future to watch Rylie and Sydney”

About: Hi, I'm Caroline! 🐾 Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and I love getting to know each pup's unique personality. I've cared for playful puppies, senior dogs, high-energy adventurers, and pups who need medication or a little extra TLC. I'm currently working part-time, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to provide attentive, reliable care. Whether your dog loves long walks, backyard playtime, cuddles on the couch, or all of the above, I'm happy to match their routine so they feel safe, comfortable, and right at home. My goal is simple: treat every dog like they're part of the family and make sure they have a fun, stress-free time on our walk, check-in, or while you’re away! I currently work part-time, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for your pets. I'm a big planner and communicate clearly, so you'll always know when I'm arriving and how your pet is doing. Whether it's a walk, drop-in visit, or overnight stay, I do my best to keep your pet's routine consistent and stress-free. I believe pets are happiest when they can stick to their normal routine, so I do my best to keep things as familiar as possible. I'll follow your care instructions closely, make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, exercise, fresh water, and potty breaks, and I'll always treat your home with the same respect I'd want someone to show mine. My goal is for you to come home to a happy pet and a well-cared-for home.
“Tracy is wonderful! She took great care to keep our pets on their schedule, took our dog on walks, gave the cats and dog lots of love, and took great care housesitting. She went above and beyond. She kept us up to date on how everyone and everything was. We will definitely have Tracy back when we need a sitter in the future.”
“Came home to a happy pup who had full bowl of food and water and all is well! Short notice and last minute request as I forgot to book until a few days before my trip and Mya came through!”

“Ashley was wonderful with our dogs and house sitting. She went the extra mile and we will be hiring her again for any dog/house sitting we need in the future. Thanks Ashley!”

“At first, I was very nervous about finding a pet sitter who would take good care of my Lilly for several days while I was away. But as soon as I met Donelle, I knew Lilly would be more than well taken care of! Donelle sent me frequent updates, always responded to my messages promptly, and reached out whenever she had any questions or wanted to make sure Lilly was comfortable. She truly went above and beyond to ensure Lilly's well-being, and that gave me so much peace of mind while I was traveling! I would recommend Donelle 100% to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and attentive pet sitter. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of Lilly!”

About: I love animals, particularly cats. I’m patient but firm. I can ignore the incessant whines for excessive amounts of food. I am comfortable administering medications and picking up messes. Your fur baby is safe with me! I’m a student in college. I am free most afternoons and evenings and can spend the night at your house or apartment. Unfortunately, bringing the animals to my apartment is not an option. I’ve got plenty of free time and am excited to take care of your animal! I can not take animals at my apartment. I am more than happy to come to your location. I can do walks, bathroom breaks, feeding, playing, and any of the dirty work that comes with it!
“Mia did a great job watching over our dog, cat and home. We were in a pinch to find a sitter and she was reliable and trustworthy! She left our home spotless and sent us a ton of photos with our pets. They really took to her and we could tell they felt comfortable and loved while we were away. I would definitely book Mia again for our next trip, we are so happy we found her!”

About: My family has more than 20 years of pet care experience. We have also searched for boarding houses, so I know what pet parents want. A clean boarding house is good for the health of pets, and I clean and disinfect my house every day. My home is close to the park. We take them to the park every day. Exercise is good for the health of pets. I am a graphic designer and usually work at home, so I have more time for pet care. My daughter is a student right now at high school and after school, she can take them on a walk, so we have plenty of time to take care of them. I have a 6-foot fenced yard, also a whole basement for them. They can roam freely in the house, no smoking, and no little kids. I will check them every 2 hours to see if they need anything.

Aubreanna was the best dog sitter I could’ve asked for! I will 1000% rebook with her again. I completely trust that my dog is safe and cared for with her. I have a senior dog with medical conditions, needing compassionate care. Aubreanna certainly gave that. She was extremely communicative, sending pictures and updates while tending to his every need. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about you pet, book with Aubreanna

Our dogs are usually skeptical and guarded around new people, but Alisha warmed them right up during her stay with them…so much so that they shared the bed with her the very first night! Right from the start, Alisha was reliable, professional, and trustworthy. She sent a couple of updates with photos every day and managed Kip’s medications wonderfully! We came home to very happy, relaxed pups and a spotless house. She definitely went the extra mile! We will definitely book with Alisha again!

I would like to start out and say Donelle was amazing! It's always nerve racking to find someone to watch your dogs when you go away on vacation. We were so lucky to find Donelle on Rover. She responded quickly to our request for in home care. She came over a few days before we had to leave so she could meet the dogs and see my house. She showed up at the scheduled time and was very organized with notes and questions to ask about each dog. Our dogs loved hanging out with her while we were gone and she made sure to send lots of updates and pictures which we loved. I would not hesitate to book her again to watch our dogs and she will be the first person that I will reach out to. She really did an amazing job!

Carissa did a fantastic job caring for our two high energy dogs while we were away. She was reliable, punctual, and a good communicator. Carissa took great care of our home and left it clean and organized. I highly recommend Carissa to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter.

Thank you Emma. We appreciate your help with Penny when we are gone! We know she is well taken care of and is happy while we are gone. Appreciate your help when we had cancelled flights and you were able to extend your care. Thanks so much for peace of mind.

Avery took good care of Maggie and our home while we were out of state. Unfortunately, on her last day, my dog experienced a sudden medical emergency (unrelated to Avery’s care). She did everything right handling the situation including calling our emergency contact and getting Maggie to the emergency vet!

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lincoln walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lincoln maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lincoln choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lincoln. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
