“Jovelle was fantastic. Super responsible and communicative. We had received detailed updates, and when we were back the dog and cats were happy and healthy, as if we never left, and the house was tidy. Strongly recommended.”

“Lauren was absolutely wonderful. She took great care of Lizzie and Archie. Lizzie has an ear infection and was testy but Lauren just stayed the course and Lizzie warmed up by the end of the day. Lauren even gave her her medicine. She’s a responsible young woman and I will definitely call on her again.”

“Luke was incredible! We were gone for 5 days, entrusting our large, high energy, chaotic dog and 2 cats with Luke. Luke kept us apprised of any issues, while also fostering a sense of trust. I highly recommend Luke!”

“Leah stayed with my 100lb pittie over the weekend and she was absolutely a delight to work with. She sent us multiple updates and pictures a day, and took our guy on lots of walks which we appreciate so much! We came home to a clean house and happy pup! We will definitely be using Leah again!”

“Taylor is a great pet sitter! I am a self proclaimed crazy pet parent and I get really nervous about leaving my pets with someone else. However, I didn’t worry at all when Taylor watched my dogs and cats. She took excellent care of them and they were happy all weekend! I will definitely be using Taylor again in the future.”

About: I’m a dog dad myself, so I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else. I treat every dog in my care the same way I’d want someone to treat my own with patience, attention, affection, and respect for their individual routine and personality. I’ve cared for dogs for more than 10 years, from energetic younger dogs who need plenty of exercise and playtime to older dogs who need a little more patience and a slower pace. I’m comfortable with larger breeds, feeding routines, walks, basic medication, and following detailed care instructions. I’m dependable, attentive, and big on communication. I’ll keep you updated so you’re never wondering how your pet is doing. Most importantly, I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. Your dog won’t just be another booking on my schedule they’ll be treated like family while they’re with me. we can even discuss providing access to a pet camp so you can have full transparency and reassurance that your loved one as care for. I have a flexible schedule, which gives me plenty of time to make pet care part of my day rather than squeeze it in between other commitments. I’m already used to planning my day around my own dog, Leo, so walks, playtime, feeding, and plenty of attention are part of my normal routine. I’m available throughout the week and can often accommodate different schedules with advance notice. I know how particular I am about who I trust with my own dog, so I take that responsibility seriously when someone trusts me with theirs. I follow each pet’s normal routine and their owner’s instructions closely, including feeding, walks, medications, and any house rules. I pay attention to the little things too like behavior, energy, appetite, and anything that seems out of the ordinary and I’ll always communicate with you. Whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or mine, my goal is simple: keep them safe, comfortable, loved, and as close to their normal routine as possible.
“Christina did a fantastic job watching my Chloe! She house sat for me for a week and I felt completely at ease. Chloe has a lot of health issues and needs a lot of medication and Christina followed all of my directions and communicated with me regarding her care. I would definitely recommend her to take care of your fur baby and would love to have her sit again for my Chloe!”

“Nick was so accommodating and gentle with my senior pups. They can be difficult and very particular. He was so patient and ready to learn their routine. I definitely recommend him and would use Nick again!”

“Ava is amazing, she took such great care of the house and Beau and the cats while we were away. She was so communicative and professional, and sent lots of awesome pictures. We felt so confident and comfortable being away while she was with them. Five stars highly recommend and will be requesting her for future trips!!!”

“Hope was amazing. Constantly checked in with us regarding our dogs and took great care of them. Sent lots of photos so we knew the boys were OK. 100% would go with her again.”

“She went above and beyond for our pets when we were away. We have two cats and a dog, and she did a phenomenal job of taking care of them and make sure that they feel cared in love for at all times. She kept us updated and sent us cute photos of them daily!”

“Stella had an extended stay with our pup and she was so wonderful at making sure our baby felt comfortable while we were gone. It was our first time being away so we were understandably anxious about how Philomena would do but Stella sent us loads of updates, photos and videos. Our pup had a wonderful staycation all thanks to her!!!”

“Zoe stepped in for us when a sitter had to cancel last-minute and she was excellent! It was our first time leaving our pup with someone overnight and it was a great success. Our dog has bad separation anxiety and we were so grateful Zoe was able to hang with him the entire time we were away. She followed our instructions and was easy to communicate with, punctual, and very kind. We’d absolutely hire her again!”

Holy cow, Rebecca is amazing. She always takes such good care of my husky Stevie and is perfect at dealing with the energy and attitude that my dog throws at her. Stevie can get very anxious when I leave her behind, but I can rest assured that she’s not missing me when Rebecca comes to stay. On this fateful stay, Stevie got sick and was having accidents all over the apartment. Rebecca was such a trooper and helped my girl through her sickness, while also cleaning and taking care of my apartment and furniture. She sent plenty of updates, pictures, and even ran out to buy supplies. When things were looking a little dicey, she consulted me before taking Stevie to my vet, and got me on the phone so I could talk to the vet. She took detailed notes and explained the meds back to me when I came home. I can’t imagine having anyone else take care of my dog after the lengths Rebecca went to. I cannot recommend Rebecca enough, she was so gracious and kind to me and my dog throughout the entire poop storm. Thank you a million times over!!!

I think this is the third(maybe fourth?) time that Audrey has pet/ house sat for us, and I can say we'd definitely be happy to have her watch the fur(and scaley) kids any time. She's great with communication, sends pictures of the kids, and has handled any speedbumps(usually on our end) without any issues. Super happy that we found Audrey on here and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a great sitter and piece of mind when you have to be away from your fur kids.

Dan was terrific! He house sat and watched our two pugs for four nights and then coordinated "hand off" to a friend of ours while we were away. He kept in regular contact, sent lots of pictures, and left everything as he found it. We'd be happy to use him again.

Jovelle was absolutely fantastic. She sent twice‑daily updates with great photos, which kept me completely at ease while I was away. Loki looked happy, relaxed, and so well cared for in every single check‑in. Her communication was consistent, thoughtful, and reliable. When I got home, my apartment was in excellent shape — clean, organized, and exactly how I left it. It’s clear Jovelle takes pride in her work and genuinely cares about the pets she watches. I highly recommend her and will definitely book again.

Emily was wonderful! She was able to accommodate our request last minute and spent the whole day with Panda. She kept us updated throughout the day with messages and photos, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. Panda seemed very comfortable with her, and we really appreciated how attentive and reliable she was. We’d absolutely book with Emily again!

Ellen was wonderful with my senior dog, Reuben! He has quite a few quirks and can be a little particular, so I really appreciated how patient, attentive, and caring she was with him. She took the time to understand his routine and made sure he was comfortable and well cared for while I was out of the country. I came home to a happy pup and felt completely at ease knowing he was in good hands. I would definitely recommend Ellen for both walks and pet sitting!

Lauren was absolutely wonderful. She took great care of Lizzie and Archie. Lizzie has an ear infection and was testy but Lauren just stayed the course and Lizzie warmed up by the end of the day. Lauren even gave her her medicine. She’s a responsible young woman and I will definitely call on her again.

This is my second time using Erin and she continues to do a great job. We get tons of amazing photos of our pups relaxed and happy and it makes our trips much more enjoyable knowing they're in good hands. We also had a last minute schedule change that Erin was able to accommodate, no questions asked. We're very glad we found her on Rover and will absolutely be booking her again!

Darina was absolutely wonderful! She stayed with Petunia for multiple nights and gave us such peace of mind while we were away. My biggest priority was knowing that Petunia was safe, happy, and well cared for, and Darina went above and beyond. She sent two incredibly detailed check-ins every day with plenty of pictures, kept our very active and energetic pup entertained, and made sure she got long walks to match her energy. She also watered our plants and even helped with our laundry, which was such a thoughtful surprise. We came home to a happy dog and a well-cared-for home. We would absolutely trust Darina with Petunia again!

Jess is wonderful! Not only did she take great care of our boys, she went above and beyond to clean the house before she left - even washing the bathmat and cleaning the toilet. I came home to two very happy pets and a spotless house. Jess is also a great communicator and sent pictures every day. We will definitely book again!

Grace was wonderful- she stayed with my pup during our 10 day travel and took great care of her! Grace made her feel comfortable right away, took her on walks, played and snuggled. Our pup loved spending time with Grace! She left our home in perfect condition and had great communication. We’ll definitely re-book with Grace anytime we need!

We seriously cannot thank Yui enough. She was so flexible with our plans changing right before a huge life event and was so caring and kind to our sweet cat as he’s faced some health challenges. We always know when we’re gone, we’re leaving him in the very best hands. We absolutely love Yui and would highly highly recommend her to anyone who has pet sitting needs!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Philadelphia on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 5,515 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Philadelphia. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Philadelphia walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Philadelphia maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Philadelphia choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
